Mr Z’s Pipasa

Stopped here on the way too Foxwoods. The waitress (Karen) was awesome. We told her we were in a hurry and she moved things along for us. The food was great plenty to choose from and good portions. The pizza was worth the ride here. Would definitely stop by again on our next road trip this way.

The restaurant has plenty of seating and nice décor. However, we were very cold and asked to move seats or turn heat up. We noticed others were putting their coats on as well. They turned heat on for 5 mins but we were only warm for 10 then cold again. The food presentation was very nice and good portions, tasted good but served on cold plates so with cold room it did not stay warm long. The 3 of us got Italian dishes and were disappointed it did not come with house salad but did come with bread.

This place is great it feels homey & I love their food, the Chicken El Paso is my favorite dish so far but all their dishes are well made every time I’ve visited. Trying something new isn’t much of a gamble because it’s all good. proportions are large and service is good. Love it.

Very slow service, but courteous. Waitress made a point of telling us they had a party of 30 and were short one staff. This shouldn’t have been my problem and management should try to have better back up plans so their customers do not have to suffer. Food was priced very fairly. Daughter had penne with meatballs, Meatball was good, sauce was probably average. I had buffalo chicken pizza and it was good, but I prefer NY style pizza, so just good for me, not great. Really nice décor and furnishings but the music was a bit too loud and hip hop, not really conducive to the overall dining experience.

I have eaten here four times and the food is decent but each and every time the order has been wrong or there was something omitted. Be careful when you order appetizers and dinner at the same time, each and every time I have asked the server to hold off the meals, there has been have eaten apps left on the table because food came out minutes after the apps were served. I will continue to eat there but will not be my first choice, even if it means tooling down route six to go to Providence. The place is okay, Debbie is a great bartender…

Worst place ever! My buddy and I sat at the bar and no one acknowledged us for 15 minutes. We order two draft beers (the bartender told us the beer as from a brewery on Long Island, we looked it up… it was a CT beer) and when we got the 2 beers, each beer had hair on the top of the beer We immediately left and won’t return ever. Learn how to clean and get a staff that knows how to bartend and has curtisousy. 0 stars! Too bad Unilocal won’t allow that…

its pretty sad that the word in the business community is that your restaurant is for sale. How do you expect to gain a loyal cliental?
As for the food, pairs same level of Mc Donald’s. I go to local restaurants and try to support small Momma and papa establishments. too bad.

Food always good, huge portions for price, service good. Veteran’s Day had specials for Vet’s. Never had bad meal, been there often.

First time going because of the reviews on Unilocal.Atmosphere was great, music choice not so much. Chairs super comfy but bathroom was kind of sketchy. Our waitress was very nice and super attentive. Huge menu but being a picky eater, I was still a bit disappointed. The bread alone was worth going for! Got a pizza and was thoroughly impressed. It was delicious, great size and very inexpensive. Made sure to grab a take out menu on the way out, this may be worth the drive to make our new pizza place. Can’t wait to try more!

This place is great. Great atmosphere, clean, comfortable, excellent service. Dan went out of his way to make sure we had a lovely meal, the food was delicious, service fast. Best of all, gluten free pasta, pizza crust and desert option. Will definitely return!

Awesome place for good food. I think i found a new favorite in Plainfield. Food is very fresh, prices are reasonable and portions are big. We took home quite a bit because we were full but wanted more.
Fresh mozz sticks. Fried pickles were better than any other place in town. Grape leaves were hand made and very flavorful. Each of our meals was large and tasty.
Only downside is the pulled pork was a little dry but we asked for extra sauce and it was great.

Haven’t found a place to get gluten free pizza when I visit my parents… until now. I’ve had the pizza twice now and I enjoyed it both times. The pizza was even good cold the next day. Even though I can’t eat the other pizza, it looks delicious and the people eating it have no complaints! I highly recommend.

We pulled off the highway on a family road trip to grab a quick bite to eat, and were happily surprised to stumble upon Mr Z’s. I have NEVER seen so many delicious salad offerings on one menu! Not only that, but they were so flexible about customizing the salads even further to meet our needs! Everything was tasty and affordable, the servers couldn’t have been nicer, and we found our new favorite place to stop just off the highway in CT! Win, win all around!

My family and I have been going to Mr. Z’S for months now and we haven’t found anything we don’t like. Their salads are absolutely delicious. Burgers, pizza, and pasta are so good. If given the choice, I would choose Mr. Z’s always!

Lots of potential at this restaurant. Service is good, and so is the food. The restaurant has a an open, comfortable feel, plus they just opened an outdoor patio which is perfect for hanging out at night in the warm weather. Very family friendly, and they are SUPER accommodating for large parties! I recently organized a party of 30 which went very smoothly.
They do need to narrow down the menu. It’s so long! 30 options for salad and about 25 appetizers… it’s overwhelming to read. They should also add a few healthier entrees for those who aren’t in the mood for pizza or pasta. Why isn’t there a seafood or chicken entrée?
I’ve returned a few times. The menu just needs some adjustments.

Great if you want apps, salads, pizza or pasta. Nice décor and large open bar area. Seems to be owned by Greek people but the baklava was bad — soggy instead of crisp and not warm.
Very friendly and nice bartender that we always seem to get during the weekdays. Good service!
My fav is the Acropolis calzone and the taco salad– both delicious!

Very nice place right near the I-​395 exit. Pretty extensive menu with gluten-​free pizza and pasta choices. Gyro was very good as was the Hawaiian pizza. Reasonable prices.

Good food and exceptional service. Tonight was my first time trying this new restaurant that opened about a month ago.
First thing: I was very impressed with the wonderful customer service. Our server, Cameron was not only funny but he made me feel quite comfortable. He came over to explain many items I had questions about and also was able to give his own recommendations from several choices I was considering. He came back quickly when our food arrived to make sure things were up to par!
Second: The menu is quite long. Many of the pasta options were simply chicken and pasta with a different sauce. There was also numerous pizza/​calzone options, salad options, and sandwich options. It was quite overwhelming and I feel they could maybe curb it down or simplify it a bit.
Third: I had the chicken ala vodka which was good but not great. The roasted vegetables were well cooked and absolutely delicious! However, I felt the sauce was lacking in something but still tasty. The portions were quite large and I feel that it was a good price for the amount of food given. I was surprised that there was no salad that came with a pasta meal such as mine was but it wasn’t a big deal.
Overall, it was a nice clean restaurant. I will definitely return again and would recommend it to my friends.

Let’s make this easy–
Cons:
The menu is huge. Both in physical size and content. There are FAR too many things on the menu for one person to ever want on a menu. It took me 10 minutes of reading and comparing just to wind up with 5 things I wanted. They have 30 salads!
Pros:
The restaurant is very clean. We were greeted by just about everyone nearby with a smile and eye contact when we entered. We felt very welcomed.
Our server, Cameron, was amazing. The atmosphere of the entire restaurant was very relaxed. Cameron was personable and he took care of everything we needed without hesitation. I had the Black & Bleu pizza, and it is amazing. If you want cheap food there is a Domino’s, McDonald’s and Wendy’s nearby. For what it costs, I got exactly what I paid for, and it was worth every penny.
I leave most restaurants wishing something had gone better. This is not one of those situations. On our way out everyone thanked us for coming and said goodbye. For the first time in many months we left this restaurant excited at the idea that we will be returning.

My son took me to this restaurant on 09/​30/​2014 and the food was excellent, we had this server name Dan and I was watching him while he was holding on conversations with all his guest, I felt at home just watching him work, he came to are table several times to ask if everything was alright and he was telling us about Mr. Z he is a great assent to this business, and The Attendant was a hard and fast worker she reminded me of myself, clean and set table nicely manner, I hope this business stays awhile cause I can see myself back.
