Wow this place is awesome. From the moment you walk in you know it’s going to be fun. The authentic ‘50s diner façade gives the place an amazing look and the inside feels just right. One nice touch we didn’t get to take advantage of(because it’s winter) is the large patio area outside, half of which is marked as dog-friendly. I guess we’ll have to visit again with the pups once it warms up a bit. The inside is larger than you think, with the main diner portion in front(complete with counter and stools) and then a larger seating area in the back. We sat in the front and, my main complaint with the place, is that the seats and table were all quite small and close together. For a big and tall person like myself it made for a slightly uncomfortable experience, so try for a table in the back section if you need a little more room. Now on to the food. We started off with one of the day’s specials — fried cheese curds. If you’ve never experienced these little joys then you’re missing out, and Oasis made some darn good ones. The cheese was melty, the breading was light, and they weren’t all greasy. Then, even though we came in the evening, the wife and I both ordered breakfast(because breakfast food is the bestest food). Both our dishes were amazing and the portion sizes were huge! We each had a good amount left to take home for a second meal later. My wife liked the toast that came with her meal so much that we bought a loaf of their bread to go. The fact that they make such good stuff in store is very impressive. And another big selling point is that the prices are extremely reasonable here. We went all out with an appetizer, two entrees, and a loaf of bread to go and the total still came out under $ 30. Seriously, what a deal! We had a great experience at Oasis. Our service, while maybe a little slow, was nothing like the issues a lot of others have had. The place has a lot of charm and character, which is always nice to see close to home. We loved the food and it didn’t break the bank. Oasis — you’ll be seeing us again, I promise.

Pretty much everything here is homemade. Even the butterscotch root beer, which I would probably mainline right there in the restaurant if they allowed.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all delicious! They hav milkshakes, Malts and other desserts. They require 24 hour notice for whole pie orders. They have great service! It is a small place, but you can eat outside when it is warm.

I give up! I went in for breakfast and ordered oatmeal, a waffle, and coffee. There was one other table at the time. The waitress brought my coffee and oatmeal right away. Then she disappeared back in the kitchen for more than 10 minutes. I could hear the waitresses joking/goofing around with the cook/owner in the kitchen. No coffee refill. When I’m at breakfast(especially with the small cups this place orovides) I expect my waitress to touch up my coffee about every 5 minutes. At 20 minutes my waitress told me my waffle«came out runny», and it would be a few more minutes. I cancelled the order. The last time before this that I visited I had a similar waitress experience. If that waitress wasn’t AWOL in the kitchen she was just talking it up with the only other customer. She was unconcerned with my coffee. This place has great food that they mostly make from scratch. But you’d better be very patient and tolerant of bad service. Call me high maintenance, but I demand better service than what this place seems willing to provide. ADIOS!

Pretty cool spot with good food. They have they’re own home made sodas which are also good. Great retro look and feel.

I was excited to try Oasis because of its history and some friends’ recommendations. The service and cleanliness were exceptional; our waitress was very conscientious & attentive. Water glasses filled, special tea cases brought out(see the picture, I liked that touch), tables were bussed promptly, etc. The only issue was our food. Accident in the kitchen as the grilled cheese sandwiches that they are noted for were not prepared as the menu indicates. Edible but not as grilled as desired. Our waitress and the manager were very apologetic though, and definitely tried to make it right, adjusting the bill for our inconvenience even though we didn’t ask. Quality customer service, and I look forward to trying Oasis again soon.

Hold the phone. This place is such a gem of a find. I don’t often wander into Plainfield but it is worth the drive just to have brunch here. I had the Kansas City loaded biscuits and gravy and well, the photos speak for itself — cheesy, potato, egg, buttermilk biscuit goodness

The food selection is just right. We were here on Tuesday which also offers .25 coffee and .50 shakes, sundaes or malts all day! They also have senior discounts of 10%off. Our waitress was Macee she was super attentive and polite! The prices might seem a little high but everything is home made in house and you will get more than you pay for. Well worth the price of admission.

I’m so glad to see this building get new life. History and tradition mean a lot to me, so kudos to the owners for keeping the building and diner culture alive. We met friends there for dinner(They had highly recommended the breaded tenderloin), and as it was a pleasant evening, we chose to dine outside. The breaded tenderloin did not disappoint. It goes my my list of 5 star tenderloins… and there are not too many on that list! The breading was light and crispy, seasoned perfectly to compliment the taste of the meat, not overwhelm it. One of the best anywhere. The fries were good. It was suggested that we try the butterscotch root beer, and, honestly, I was suspect, but it was AMAZING. So good, we took a growler home! If it was based on food alone, I’d give it a 5 star review, no doubt. However, they appeared to be experiencing some service issues the night we visited, so I’ll give them a 4 star. and we’ll be back.

Very good! We had the Oasis burgers and they were delish! The burgers were covered with pulled pork, bacon and cheese. The home made pickles were yummy too! We went on a Tuesday and got a milkshake for only 50 cents! It was perfect! We would have ordered another but were too full from those great burgers! We will definitely be back to try a butterscotch root beer float(they make their own sofas in house — how cool is that?). Can’t wait to go back again!

Unbearably good food, cool combos and specials. Try the fries and gravy — excellent. The place was moved to this location after years spent a couple of miles to the east. It’s got some kinda cool menus fiber specialities from around the country. But, seriously//SLOWEST SERVICEEVER.

Quite possibly one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! I ordered the Kansas City, which is their biscuits and sausage gravy topped with fried potatoes, 2 eggs(your choice), and cheese(I skipped the cheese). It was soooo good!!! My husband had the Denver Lumberjack breakfast. It included 2 pancakes, 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon and 2 sausage patties. They were served with piping hot syrup!!! They were delicious!!! Service was great! Attentive and friendly staff! The restaurant was clean, no greasy smell. They offer patio seating which is dog friendly! We will definitely be back!!!

Great experience. We waited several months after it opened to try it, because we heard there were issues at first. Well, the issues are resolved. We had a party of 11 on a Thursday morning and there was plenty of room. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I had the create-your-own omelet and it was delicious. It came with toast made from their own house-made bread and it was some of the best toast I’ve ever had. My kids had pancakes, french toast, and stuffed french toast, and they all loved it. The portions were pretty large. One of my kids had the biscuits and they were excellent. The bill was very reasonable. We will definitely return.

Overall: I think based on my experience from subsequent visits, I’m going to bump this up to a 5-star. I’m very glad to have this gem open & operating in the heart of Plainfield. Last night we ventured back for the 4th time to the Oasis diner. I had heard they had changed their tenderloin & I wanted to try it out. It was different(bigger/flatter) but still well-seasoned, piping hot & tasty. The fries are still excellent. Our wait-time for food was not too bad, and everything arrived super-fresh & as-ordered. Service: Was the best we have had there, yet! The young gentleman who waited on us was friendly & was a great waiter. He wrote down/delivered orders correctly, kept an eye on our drinks for needed refills(seriously, try the butterscotch soda!), and did so without being«overly involved» or distracting from our conversation. Ventilation: We did not reek of grease when we left last night, nor did we on the visit before… so I think they have that issue fixed :-). Yay! Restaurant Wait: was non-existent at 6pm on a Monday. We parked & were seated immediately. If you were frustrated by service/food issues in the first couple months this place was open, I highly suggest you return & give it another shot. I still need to try breakfast(served all day long) here one day…

So this is an adorable little piece of nostalgia that used to be East on US40 for years. Was used in a music video and the ultimately sat empty with the demise of so many businesses. The structure was moved west a few miles and permanently located on the west end of Plainfield. Scrubbed, put back together it’s an old fashion diner feel when you walk in. Their sodas are hand crafted. The cup of chili was great and the tenderloin was outstanding. The only thing I think they could improve on is organization. Too many workers not actually working and sitting at the dining bar. Other than that, I would highly recommend stopping in if you are making your way west on US40.

There is no other place in the metro Indianapolis area that can compare to the Oasis Diner. Where else can you hop in your time machine back to 1954 to experience an authentically preserved Diner? The food. I am full thinking about all the food we ordered. The amount of food for the price is absolutely perfect. I enjoyed the Quaker Breakfast and got a side of short stack pancakes. The Quaker includes grits or oatmeal(who gets oatmeal?), the grits were cheesy and warm and delightful. The pancakes were fluffy and big. Combined with over easy eggs, the pancakes could’ve been a meal in themselves! My brunch companions also got a ridiculous amount of food. We all tried their homemade sodas and we enjoyed the unlimited refills. Great service while we were there. Although we had to wait 10 minutes for a table, our service once seated was great. Overall, this is such a great diner that I hope thrives in its new location. Indy folks, it’s worth the drive to Plainfield to check this out!

A really great place! Minus one star for some early start-up issues; some slow service, inexperienced wait staff. Minor stuff that will surely get sorted as this diner gets off to a running start. The menu was a perfect mix of classic diner favorites, which are great but can be boring after a while, and newer more experimental dishes like their oasis burger, honey-sriracha hot wings, and butterscotch root beer floats. The atmoshpere and the food is everything you want from a diner with such a storied history, and its off to a fresh new start!
