Pretty good selection, but not a ton of stock on most things. The staff is helpful but gruff — what do you expect from a gun shop?

This place is horrible for some reason after having a bad experience in here the first time I came back a second time to find a specific model of firearm. First thing when I walk in its a big cloud of smoke with il man bob himself smokin away at the counter. The staff is all completely rude and not helpful at all, I understand they sell a lot of inventory so they may feel they don’t need customer service, well that will only last for so long. My advice, take your business to fort liberty in Avon. It’s well worth it!

Busy store, many loyal customers, and be prepared to handle all the stuffed animal heads throughout. My husband favors this shop and visits often. They carry new and used weapons with fair prices. The shortages of amo and weapons are tough everywhere so if you’re looking for something specific just keep trying and let the staff know. The staff is helpful and reserved which I know puts many off. If they know you, yes, they appear friendly at first but do not let this put you off. Cautious is a good policy when dealing with weapons as far as I’m concerned.

This shop is as good as it gets on prices and overall inventory. I have bought many guns there and like the way I’ve been treated. Bob Cheek’s store is likely the highest volume gun dealer in Indianapolis(Even though DON claims to be the highest volume — BUNK). I’ve never found the employee’s to be anything but helpful if they could.

I’ll second this is the best gun shop in the Indianapolis area. The folks that own and run this shop are extremely supportive of the local community and groups within it. Above and beyond that, they know their stuff when it comes to firearms, and furthermore they have the best prices around. I really wonder if these other reviews are written by owners of competing shops. The fact that their shop is often packed is clear evidence that most people are satisfied customers. I speak with numerous avid shooters, and every one speaks highly of and strongly recommends Plainfield Shooting Supplies, as do I.

I have bought two handguns from this shop in the past few years and every once in a while I would stop in to by ammo and supplies. Each time going into the store hoping that I would find someone to help me and answer questions I have about the weapons on the shelves and other various issues. And to no surprise I got the same group of neanderthals acting like I owed them something because I stepped foot in «their shop». The employees here are nothing but rude unhelpful know it alls that do nothing but stand around with their thumbs in their ass instead of helping the customer. For example: I bought a pistol here and after the second shot the firing pin flies out of the back of the pistol and the trigger goes limp. Ok, obviously a manufacturing issue that needs to be addressed and not the gun shops fault. Nonetheless I tried piecing the gun back together to fix it, but didn’t have any luck. So, I get the bright idea to try and take the handgun back two days later to see if someone there can compare the guts of the gun to one they have on the shelf or get some«professional»(haaaah) insight into what might be the problem. Well after taking the gun in the only thing I get from one of the employees after waiting for him to get his ass off the stool is «welp you bought it here, but u gotta send it back to the warehouse». And so I ask him if he can just take a look at it or compare it to a model right below me in the gun case. He looks at me then at his group of neanderthals and laughs saying«boy we ain’t here to fix your toys». I’ve had nothing but bad experiences here and I’m still pissed at myself to this day for ever going back to spend any more money in this shop. I definitely won’t be going back in there again. I live in Avon and the gun shop here is worthless too, so I take the longer drive and go out to Bradis where they actually take care of their customers. Bottom line here is to go elsewhere and spend your money where they actually appreciate their customers. Get your shit together Bob!

The one time I visited this shop I was ready to spend some money on purchasing 2 rifles. The loud know-it-all employee turned me off when I asked a few questions and he told me how I was wrong and he was right. They had very few Rifles in stock to look at. You lost the sale!

Plainfield Shooting Supplies is the best gun shop in the Indianapolis area. They have a great selection of new and used weapons. The prices are even more attractive. The staff is helpful bunch of patriots. I strongly urge you to check them out and exercise your Second Amendment right!
