This staples was crowded with groups of people looking for particular items which all seemed to be where you needed a ladder to get to them. It was hot and I could not find the item I was looking for until I saw a display for it on the way out. I bought it and then realized that I never wanted to go to into a staples ever again, so I went back in to spend the rest of the gift card I had. Waiting on the line a second time was excruciating because the person in line was returning an item that was less than a dollar and the whole transaction took at least ten minutes to complete. There were a lot f staff milling around but only one register open. I am not coming back to this staples ever for any reason. Horrible.

I was desperate to come up with a fitting subject for my 300th Unilocal review. Truth be told, I don’t get out much, and aside from my vicarious, virtual life on the internet, all I do is eat, sleep, and watch reruns on cable TV. Which, inexplicably, brings me to Staples. This store looks much like all the other generic Staples franchises, which, by some act of black magic, managed to put their local arch-rivals Office Max and Office Depot out of business. When the costly ink supply in my old Epson Stylus inkjet dried-up for the umpteenth time from lack of use, I decided to splurge and purchase a color laser printer. To my astonishment, one could be had for little more than the replacement cost of a disposable toner cartridge for my venerable HP B&W LaserJet. I purchased a very nice, new Lexmark 21-ppm CMYK laser printer, marked down on sale from $ 349 to $ 269 at Staples, and then, for no apparent reason, the salesman threw in a service contract, extending the warranty from one year to three years for no additional cost. It’s hard to get excited about the purchase of office equipment, but to quote a former employer who, despilte being a real S.O.B., could turn a phrase: «It tastes better when it’s free.»
