Plainfield has so many wonderful family friendly green spaces and Swinford Park is certainly on of them. The 25 acre park has a playground designed for children under 6 with several play areas as well as green space to run and play. For the adults there is a nice shelter for picnics or family reunions, a volleyball court, horseshoe pit along with 4 tennis courts, 2 lighted and 2 unlighted. Check out the schedule or plan on attending one of the Plainfield Girls Softball games played at Swinford. Their a lot of fun to watch for both the adults and the kids. The park was named after Plainfield’s first fire chief, Red Swinford in 1968. Close to Hummel and the Skate Park on the corner of South Center and Longfellow Lane. Bring your little ones here for play time on the maize or tiny merry go round or grab your racket for tennis.
