This place is way over priced and low quality. I’m posting a chirashi photo. It’s $ 19. It has 9 pieces of budget fish. PLEASEDON’T GOHEREANDLETTHEMRUNOUTOFBUSINESS!

I read the reviews and I was puzzled about the mixture of very good and very bad ones. I tried this place and I liked it so much I went back three nights in a row. I don’t understand where the bad reviews come from, is it a competitor trying to give them a bad reputation? «Unsanitary» or «mediocre» are not words I can imagine applying to this place. It’s clean, fresh, friendly, modern, and the food is great. I had the opportunity to try Indian, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food here. All of it was great though I think the Chinese and sushi were the best. Not only is the taste of the food good, the textures were really diverse and fantastic. It’s not really fusion food, but it does offer authentic and varied examples of food from different regional cuisines. The salmon in the Chirashi was melt-in– your-mouth and buttery, even if the presentation was a little plainer than some places I have had it. The pickled ginger chicken was tasty and crunchy and it was super spicy just the way I like it(watch out if you don’t like spicy!). The Indian rotis were light and crispy and the fried tofu was amazing in texture and taste. The Thai Massaman Curry was good, though I could see that the Chinese influence made it a bit more glutinous than I’m used to — maybe I should’ve gone for a green curry or Thai basil chicken. The lady at the desk was amazingly friendly and welcoming, the staff could not have been more attentive, and they even offered me a free dessert. What more could you ask for? I’ll be back again, thank you!

I went to eat during my lunch break. It was very quiet. Then again it was a Sunday afternoon. The servers were very nice. I was hungry so I ordered a sushi roll and beef phở. The Phở was a bit salty. But I didn’t have high hopes for it anyways. The sushi roll was fantastic! ^_^ they have a crazy menu, catering to all types of Asian dishes. I will definitely stop by here again to try a few other dishes out. I also got my Thai Iced Tea fix there. Overall a nice place to stop by for lunch. They also deliver to the hospital so I might try that next time~

Food is mediocre at best and only good for convenience. Additionally, I will normally spend between $ 40 to $ 50 per order where I will«pick up» and tip $ 5 or more. When I asked for a «little» eel sauce to go with my $ 40 order AFTER I tipped $ 5 for my PICKUP order I was told there would be a $ 2 additional charge. Greed is never good when dealing with loyal customers and I will be taking my future business to their closest competitor. Hope the extra $ 2 charge was worth it.

It’s an okay place if your really craving sushi or Chinese food and there’s no where else to go. The rice on the sushi is soggy and their spicy kani salad is just full of cucumbers, mayo and sesame seeds. Nothing to what a spicy kani salad should be.

I had to go to Princeton, NJ for business and there was not very many restaurants near my hotel. I went to East Asian in hopes of decent food. I ordered a tuna and avocado salad which was ok, and shrimp teriyaki. When the entrée came out it was tempura– fried shrimp. I haven’t eaten fried food in over 10 years. I told the server that I didn’t order tempura and that I would have never ordered fried food. She argued with me and told me I ordered it. Then she continued to try and change my mind into eating it. I told her no and she asked if I wanted to take it with me and said I would have to pay for it since it was already made. I told her no, no, no. After she took it back and put in the order for teriyaki, I asked to see the menu again to make sure that the teriyaki was in the place I had seen and pointed to when I ordered it– of course it WAS. I told her when she came back that the teriyaki was what I pointed to. She then said, «no I heard you say tempura– you still will have to pay half». Absolutely ridiculous. I was eating by myself so I had no one to vouch for her mistake. I voiced my complaint to another server after he saw my disdain and asked what was wrong. After I told him I didn’t think I should have to pay half, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Needless to say, I did not leave a tip. Bad service, bad experience, and I hope I don’t ever have to eat in this area again.

Went to EAF for lunch with my mom. We ordered lunch specials. My lunch special was the chicken with mixed vegetables w/hot and sour soup. This soup was light and not too salty — very flavorful. The chicken and vegetables had a nice flavor, not too salty either. My mom ordered general Tso chicken but asked for white meat since she isn’t a fan of dark meat. We didn’t mind that we would be charged an extra dollar for white meat only. She got a salad, which was fresh and nice. When she got the chicken, she cut it with her fork to find that it was very soft and mushy. When breaking open the chicken piece, it looked as if there was a very small piece of chicken with a lot of batter. This wasn’t the texture we were looking for. We examined the rest of her chicken and found each piece was the same. This really turned my mom off and we asked the waitress to cancel the order altogether. The waitress didn’t really know what to say, but didn’t argue or anything. She was compliant when we asked her to take that dish away and asked us if we wanted anything else. She didn’t charge us for the dish that was sent back and did not have an attitude. Nice staff, but hope this review improves the quality of the chicken dishes. I have gone there before and tried their sushi dish — shrimp tempura role is very good.

The great things about EAF are: 1) proximity to my office — it was only about a 5 minute drive, which is great! 2) you can order online — huge plus because I prefer to order online than over the phone 3) huge portions, esp for takeout I ordered the massaman curry for takeout, and it was excellent! I would definitely recommend it to friends, and I love that it was quick.

We ordered thai fried rice and green curry. The food is pricey and this is the worst food i had so far. It gave me stomach pain. Please stay away from this place. I wish there is negative star

I don’t usually review places but I like their food and their service. Perhaps because it wasn’t too busy went there early evening on a Wednesday, and the service was lightning fast. Not the best bubble tea but the other things were great

Food is mediocre. Was a really nice restaurant when it opened but quality has really deteriorated. I would not recommend

The place used to be top notch. Not anymore. Sushi is OK but they jacked up the prices a lot. Used to be a 5 star lunch.

I feel like I just wasted $ 15 on lunch. I ordered the lunch red chicken curry, and it came with wonton soup. The wonton soup was great– the broth was flavorful despite being a touch salty, and the wontons were delicious. The red curry chicken– well that’s a whole other story. The curry sauce was a really weird consistency– almost gelatinous, and while it was spicy, didn’t have a great flavor. The chicken in it was also weird– it had a funky texture, and zero taste. There was also some green peppers, potatoes(very gummy), and eggplant. I wouldn’t order Thai here again. Definitely don’t get the impression it’s authentic. Based on the wonton soup, if I ever gave this place a second try I might stick to the Chinese.

UNSANITARY is the first word that comes to mind. Dined here several times and the food is mediocre but continued to go because its close to the office. Not anymore, I will refuse to go and skip out on co worker lunches after this last time. Coworker asked for some extra pickled ginger — the guy who was helping serve us, went behind the sushi counter and with his BAREHANDS fished some ginger out of the container and put it into a plate and gave it to us. This is an inexcusable behavior for a server. If it was one of the cooks or sushi chef who was wearing gloves or was barehanded only handling food prep, I would not have batted an eyelash, but for a server who is touching dirty table rags, other peoples dishes they’ve eaten off of, money(the dirtiest thing ever!) etc — there is no excuse. The sushi chef was right next to him, he could have asked him to put some in a dish cause he had gloves on… but nope… smh.

AVOID. Service is the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant. I have gone here 3 times and had horrible slow unfriendly service every time. They trick you into charges. spicy mayo(which was awful) was $ 1.25 and I asked to share one in which they gave me two and then charged me double. Sushi is subpar and most things are too spicy. They also didn’t give my proper change in hopes I wouldn’t notice and they would gang a profit. Really terrible, scamming people who aren’t as observant. Terrible experience.

This is a nice little find in Plainsboro where usually restaurant fare is mediocre at best. Given its proximity to the area’s larger corporate campuses, it is a nice break from lunch at work. They offer a decent lunch special for around $ 10 during the week where you can either have a couple of sushi rolls or other Asian dishes with a soup or salad. I tend to get the spicy yellowtail for this special. For the most part the rolls are OK when it comes to freshness, however, there have been two times where the quality of fish left a lot to be desired. For this reason alone, I haven’t explored their specialty rolls. If you work in the area and need to pick a quick spot, this place is perfect because they get you in and out and are very efficient. Staff is friendly too! Realistically, I wouldn’t come here if I didn’t work nearby but it’s not bad. 3⁄5 for friendly staff, quick service, cheap eats, and proximity to the office. Stars deducted for the inconsistent quality of raw seafood.

My friends and I wanted to have a girl’s night, and East Asian Fusion was recommended amongst my friends. The menu is pretty extensive. They have foods ranging from Japanese, Thai and Malaysian cuisine. We started with a few apps; the scallion pancakes, vegetable tempura and an avocado salad. For our main meal we shared a vegetable pad thai and a vegetable red curry plate. All of the dishes we had were really good, but my favorite was the vegetable red curry. Our meal was accompanied by a hot green tea. We had the best server, Alex. He was so happy and pleased to serve us the entire night. He even made the«some like it hot» joke when he poured us our tea(please refer to Neeraja M’s review). This was my first time here, but there is no doubt I will be back.

Food was not bad, gave it one star because I found a metal spring in my food and the people accused me of putting it in there, they only believed when I said my father is a doctor and then they didn’t even give us the whole meal For free, bad service

let’s face it– plainsboro is pretty lame when it comes to dining options. womp. when i’m in working in my princeton-address-but-really-in-plainsboro office, East is a lunchtime staple. a little overpriced, but the fish has always been fresh. they aren’t too generous with the ginger dressing on the salads, so ask for extra if that’s your thing. the seaweed salad is yummy but also pricey. not a spot i’d go out of my way to try, but it’s convenient and pretty tasty… so yeah.

I’ve only eaten here once, so I clearly can’t speak to all the different cuisines on the menu, but between four of us, we all liked the dishes we ordered — chinese, sushi, and singaporean — so, yay! A-Okay. Maybe even 3.5 stars. The owner(?) patriarch was super friendly and happy to give us suggestions as we paged through the giant tome of a menu at lunch. Don’t go here if you have no idea what you want, as you’ll be overwhelmed by choices. I ended up with shredded pork pan fried noodle. The portion was huge — easily fed me for two lunches — and the flavors were good. I wouldn’t call the pork shredded, it was more like long slices, but whatever, they were tasty. One friend had a ridiculously large bowl of spicy fish stew that was too spicy for me to taste, but she loved it. The sushi portions seemed generous, as did the singapore mei fun. Service was fast and friendly, and we got free dessert to celebrate fathers day, though it was probably reasonably obvious that none of us were fathers.
