Plainview Dental Associates – Dr. Matthew Hyde

I’ve been going to Dr. Hyde for a couple of years now, both in his Plainview location and Astoria one. The hygienist in Plainview does a good job and in Astoria, the Doc does his own cleanings. Nice guy, does good work.

I have been going to Dr. Hyde since 2009. I go every 6 months regularly because I tent to get a lot of cavities. My experience has always been great every time I went. Once you make the appointment you will be called in no later than 10 mins after your scheduled time which is a huge plus because I hate sitting in doctor’s offices for 2 hours to get a 15 min service. Also he and his staff are always very polite. I have recommended at least 10 people I know and they were all very happy with him. Highly recommended.

I went to this dentist to fill two cavities. I have UFT coverage insurance, and my coverage clearly states that the co-​pay is 15.00. So figure 15.00×2= $ 30.00 He sends me a bill for $ 320.00. I called him to discuss, and I explained to him that last year I went to him as well, and did not incur a bill, and he told me that I’m lucky he’s not charging me for it now.
The bottom line is, he never mentioned to me that whatever procedure is done is not covered by the insurance. I assume that my co pay is what the benefit sheet says.
Additionally, he tells me that I have so many problems and that I should go see a specialist for a cleaning. I go to see a specialist, and he tells me he doesn’t understand why I was sent there, my gums and teeth are fine.
So, word of advise, do your homework before you go to this guy. I’ve never left a negative review for anyone in my life, before this case.
