Horrible customer service. I made advance reservations for a table on Mother’s Day. They told me to «please be on time» for our reservation. We got there a few minutes early for our reservation and checked in. After a 40 minute wait, I had words with a snotty unapologetic waitress about the meaning of «reservation». She told me they didn’t take reservations in plain sight of a book where my name, party number and reservation time was written down. There was no manager in sight. My sister’s family had driven from Boston and we had driven from CT to take my mother out for brunch. Thanks for ruining our Mother’s Day Goochie’s.

Defiantly love this place but they really need more servers! Been sitting here for an hour already and only got my drink. This is a constant problem at this restaurant which is disappointing as the food is usually good. Often comes cold tho. This would be a a great regular spot if it was consistent. Update: Food took another 20 minutes and when we got it, it was ICE cold. Couldn’t even melt butter. Didn’t send back because it would take another hour to get new food. We left 75% of the food uneaten it was that bad. I am so disappointed and sad because I really like the food when it’s done right… And I’ve been going here for over 10 years. It’s just stupid to keep wasting money and I really don’t think I will be back.

I went to goochies today with my son because north end deli was closed.. I was very happy that we did. the menu was short for lunch, but the food was very good and our waitress Stephanie was very nice. We will definitely go back again!

The New Goochie’s Café has become a definite favorite! There’s plenty to choose from the menu and the food is great. Nice, clean place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. Service is very friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Some of the photos here on Unilocal are of the older restaurant. Now it’s at the Rite Aid plaza, with plenty of parking.

A nifty little breakfast joint in Plainville that is good for a quick bite every now and again. My typical favorite at breakfast places is always pancakes is and always will be. Here it is no exception. First off, they are huge. I am not kidding. You don’t ever need a full stack so I would always advise a short stack because the pancakes are literally the size of the plate. They are fluffy and soft and are what I like to call«mommy pancakes» because they remind me or my own mothers scrumptious pancakes! This time I was hesitant on whether I wanted pancakes or eggs so I decided on the eggs benedict because when I asked our gracious server which to get she informed me that their hollandaise sauce is made in house from scratch! Which was a clear indication that I had to get it! Of course, I can’t not get a pancake so I got a single pancake as well! The eggs benedict was quite good, albeit not my favorite. I think what really did it for me was the sauce. That was great! The english was small and pretty mediocre and the eggs were not so great. It came with there rosti potatoes which to be honest is described better than they taste. I think they have great potential they just fall pretty flat. They need more or something. The waitress also let me substitute my fruit for sausages which I was grateful for because I hate fruit! Overall, this place is a decent joint in a town where there is nothing else. They waitress we had was nice and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. There were three of us with three full meals plus coffee, teas and multiple sides and it came to $ 30 and we ate a lot. I can definitely say we left satisfied although I will be honest and say this is not my favorite breakfast spot but it is good for a quick breakfast every once in a while.

Good service, friendly staff, food quality extremely poor, burnt eggs, bacon is horrible, slightly higher in price than others in the area especially for the poor quality of food. Didn’t have enough silverware and when we did get forks and knives, they were dirty. It’s convenient but not very good..

Not good, not terrible. «No French fries Saturdays“is weird to me, and the home fries were burnt and not fresh. Seems like they had been sitting there a while, then got reheated. The hash was decent… I don’t think I’ll go back for a second visit.

Went here with my family after a memorial mass for my uncle this past Sunday. My aunt called ahead and let them know a group of 9 was going to be arriving shortly. When we arrived it took about 5 minutes for us to be seated. This was a great surprise because on a Sunday at the time we arrived they accommodated us very well. I applaud the ability to accommodate a larger group on a busy day. There were a few issues though. Getting our drink order to the table took quite a while and my mother’s drink request was brought to the table incorrect. After receiving our drinks it took the waitress a long time to come back to the table and take out food order. It was at least 15 minutes before she came back to take our order. The place was busy but not busy enough for that slow of service. Once our orders were taken the food began to come out in a timely manner, until some mistakes were made. The food runner was very soft spoken and we could barely hear him. He was standing next to me so i dictated to the rest of the table what he was saying. He proceeded to tell our table that there were two«Table 28’s» and he didn’t know which was which. He read off something and someone at my table had that dish. He placed in down and said the next item, which no one had at our table. So then he realized he was at the«Wrong 28», took the food off of our table and placed it next to us, to the correct customers. Once that food had touched our table it should have NEVER gone to someone else. That is in very bad restaurant etiquette. When the correct food began to arrive, I was met with another shocking experience. The waitress helping deliver the food HADNOIDEA about the menu items she was delivering, and admitted to us «I don’t know what things are, i just describe them and people take them». She describe Eggs Benedict as «Eggs with ham and some yellow sauce», and my father’s Barnyard Omelette as «An omelette with lots of meat, and my grandmother’s egg whites as «Ummm a white egg and Rosti’s…and umm some kinda toast». Again, basic restaurant skills would be knowing your menu, and not needing your guests to dictate what you are saying. I was embarrassed for her. I gave this a three star because my food was great and no one has a complaint about their food, so hats off to the cooks in the back, you made the visit worth while. Other then that your front of house staff needs some serious polishing. I understand that this is a little diner and not a 5 Star Restaurant, but you do expect at least a quality level of service going anywhere for a meal, not having to dictate what the servers are saying and also knowing your menu items is important.

Had breakfast here for the 2nd time. Food was mediocre at best and the service was TERRIBLE! From the time I walked in to the very end. Non attentive waitress. The décor needs a major update as well. Only positive thing is that the prices are reasonable. Won’t be back for a 3rd time…

I’ve read a lot of the reviews. Please note that the new Goochies Café is in the rite aid/subway/family dollar plaza at the 106⁄152 intersection in Plainville. It appears this is a new location for this café. However, some if the reviews are similar. 1. I saw many people coming in and out and thought it must be good enough for business. It’s good for families, but the layout is very awkward. It must have been another business before hand because the tables are in three-ish separated locations. And there is a handicapped bathroom close to the seating area but you have to follow a labyrinth to the back bathrooms. 2. Upon arriving I watched the waitress spill soup on a menu as she bagged some food to go. She used receipts out of the garbage can to sop up the soup and never came back to use a sanitized cloth or even a napkin. When a new group came in to be seated, the new waitress grabbed that Menu on top… I work at a food establishment and just couldn’t bear to watch, so I told the waitress to look at the menu she was about to hand them… She didn’t notice. Luckily she switched it. After about ten minutes, the other waitress came back with a cloth to wash the menu… oops. At my food business we all have sanitized cloths in our pocket and in buckets nearby each counter. 3. The lunch menu is apparently new because they don’t offer French fries with burgers and sandwiches. 4. We each got breakfast: 2 eggs served over medium and scrambled, one with sausage and one with bacon, each served with rosti potatoes and toast. Although it was weird that they served an orange slice under the toast and it was served in a timely manner. even though the eggs were bland, they were cooked well. 5. When I asked for orange juice, I asked if it was fresh or from concentrate. The waitress wasn’t sure, but she was proud that it had no pulp. I politely declined and asked for water. 6. There is usually no one at the hostess station and the waitresses double up at tables to talk. One of the very nice waitresses was very loud in discussing her likes and dislikes with a table and she proudly told us she loves to snack on the oranges in the back. 7. They kindly offered my daughter crayons, paper, and raisins and they are very friendly albeit not professional. 8. This is a local Yokal type place and is nice. Prices are fair.

I’ve visited this place four times. On the last two visits I got up and left after being seated at a sticky table and not getting coffee. Not worth the slow service in my opinion. It’s not bad or unfriendly service but it’s slow and the food isn’t worth the wait. I went around the corner to Victoria’s Café and recommend that. I was quickly and politely greeted and had my coffee in about a minute. Selection and food was excellent.

Stopped in for a basic breakfast and it was fine; pancakes and bacon were served as expected. I smothered the pancakes in pancake syrup and all was good.

Service can be tough here but they are usually trying hard to move fast. Get the barnyard, it’s everything you ever wanted in an omelet. The roasties are awesome, it’s a traditional greasy spoon and perfect for morning breakfast. The new location is much bigger and easier to deal with. We went when the entire north Attleboro high track team had come in for pancakes. They served us some banana bread and extra coffee. We waited a little longer than usual but we didn’t mind. They thanked us many times for staying and being patient. Breakfast was great as usual.

I have eaten here several times and each time I come, i always say I am never returning. The service is TERRIBLE. My husband and I visited 2 weeks ago and sat at our booth literally for 20 mins before a waitress came to my table to take our drink order. We returned for first day of school last week and we had a table of 8 and again… waited 20 mins before a drink order was taken. the omelets are over done, and its just not the best. I don’t know why EACHTIME I GO, i hope for different but to no avail… sigh

The food here is ok. its always really busy when I go in there and they always look understaffed. Theres a girl there that I see seating people, bussing and taking tables as well. she always looks stressed, and it shows in her attitude when she greets you at the door. servers could be a bit more personable if they weren’t running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Maybe put more than 4 servers and a friendly hostess at the door to help make the weekend rush run a little smoother.

Ok… This one reads like an old spaghetti western: The Good, The bad, and The Ugly… The Good. 1) egg omelets were cooked perfectly, 2) prices were reasonable. 3) the place didn’t APPEAR dirty or run-down. The Bad. 1) No choice of cheese on the omelet. Came out with American cheese. Not what I would’ve liked, but they didn’t ask. Is it too much to have a number of different cheeses on hand? The do keep well in the refrigerator. 2) Waitress hyped up the«rosti» potatoes… Ok. well they come out and they’re simply fried shredded potatoes. no seasoning, no onions or peppers… seriously. are you kidding me? What’s the hype for? 3) menu was a bit bland. No specials. No signature items… nothing to say, «wow, I gotta try that». The Ugly. 1) No hostess when we walk in… talk about a bad first impression 2) Table was sticky from the diners before us… ick. 3) service was marginal, at best. Waitress was nice, but not all that attentive. 4) Another table left, and I watched as a staff member cleaned the table. She sprayed it with cleaner, while the salt, pepper, ketchup, and syrup were still on the table, then wiped around them, and moved them to wipe under them… so I guess I’ll have some Windex overspray with my condiments. again, ICK! So… I really loved the old Spaghetti Westerns, especially the ones by Sergio Leone… This one… not so much… I would say we probably will not return.

Good but not awesome. My parents raved about rostis but vegetarians beware they have bacon. They aren’t described anywhere on the menu but home fries are good. The menu is big but has tons of grammar problems and is sloppy. Our waitress tried to memorize our drink orders but forgot some and had to double check a bunch. She got all the regular meals right. The tables were standard and clean-ish and the place was very busy on a Sunday. The prices were good and so was the food. Try the cranberry bread, its divine. Home fries were ok but not great. My family liked their meals and the prices are very reasonable.
