Plainwell Ice Cream

The staff is efficient, and the ice cream may be supernaturally inspired. They let you try a tiny spoonful, so you can make sure you’ll like your flavor (s). Their ice cream is maybe a little bit pricy, but it’s also amazing. I’ve never been there when there isn’t a crowd, but it moves quickly. Once you have your ice cream, you wonder how the crowd isn’t bigger. People drive in from quite a distance to enjoy Plainwell Ice Cream; good work, guys!

Lemon chiffon with vanilla is my go too right now. Cant go wrong with any flavor. Amazing!

Delicious. Go here. Get delicious ice cream served by kind, friendly teenagers. Enjoy it in a waffle cone. Eat the whole thing and regret nothing. Old fashioned summer joy.

Maybe I had my hopes up too high after reading all of the stellar reviews but the ice-​cream was just OK. Was it good? Sure, but so is the ice-​cream at the grocery store. Between this and Sherman’s (you can get it at Treat Street in kzoo) I’ll go Sherman’s any day of the week. I’m all about supporting local businesses though so I’ll definitely be back. I loved the throwback feel of the shop and their attention to detail.

Yummy! Love the Blueberry milkshakes. I have been going to Plainwell Ice Cream since I was a kid. Now, I have my children on the kick. How can I tell them no? We have it programmed when they open for the season and when they close. Love taking the kids to soccer just gotta pass Plainwell Ice Cream…

If you want okay ice cream, you have come to the wrong place. If you are looking for good ice cream, move along as this place is not for you. If you desire to have a taste of great ice cream, you might as well keep on looking as it is not this place. If you want the best ice cream that has ever graced the earth with its presence, look no further, you have found what you have sought. Even though it is a true fact to say that Plainwell Ice Cream has the best ice cream in the world, it is yet an understatement. Looking up in the night sky on a crystal clear night, one will see that there are too many stars to count and even more that go unseen. Knowing this, the fact that there are trillions and trillions of stars and planets, I am 100 percent certain that Plainwell Ice Cream makes and serves the best Ice Cream in not only our solar system and galaxy, but the entirety of creation. With the unlimited expansion of the universe, Plainwell Ice Cream is in a continual state of becoming greater and greater. When the universe expands, it gets bigger and bigger. This means that Plainwell Ice Cream is constantly the best of a bigger and bigger universe, making that accolade of Best in the Universe all the more impressive. Stephen Hawking, a physicist, cosmologist, and dreamer, is one of the many proponents of the multiverse. This meaning, in simple, that there are unlimited universes and we are part of just one. Plainwell Ice Cream is the best of all of them.
I find myself writing this review on a cold winter day and although it is cold, I still long for a sweet creamy taste Plainwell Ice Cream. I am waiting and counting down the days till Plainwell Ice Cream opens again so that I may go taste some of its rich and delicious ice cream. After having Plainwell Ice Cream, no other brand measures up to or even close to the quality and standard that Plainwell has set for me. Although other ice cream is good, it leaves me wanting more. It leaves me with a longing and a desire for what I once knew. I appreciate Plainwell Ice Cream but I never truly knew how much I would miss it till it was gone. Not only is the Ice Cream the greatest in existence, the staff and the servers are always friendly and bring a smile to my face no matter how the day was going before I stepped foot into the store.
My only regret in writing this review is that I cannot give it six stars out of five.
Plainwell Ice Cream, the best Ice Cream.

Amazing ice cream!!! If you are in the area do not miss the opportunity to stop. You will not regret a visit to this location. The ice cream is spectacular and very creamy! Every time we are in the area we have to stop! Employees are friendly, and when there is a line… Things move along at a decent pace. We will continue to stop at this location as much as we can!

Stopped by after someone told us that this was the best ice cream in the area. Asked Sarah at the counter what their best-​selling ice cream was. She said it was Island city fudge. Got it. Just creamy enough but not too creamy. Other two members of our party got butter toffee ice cream. Again very creamy not too creamy.
Great value three cones large size waffle cones for under $ 12. The dangerous thing is is that we read they hand pack pints to take home. We wondered if one of their hand packed pints would last all the way to New York. It probably wouldn’t make it out of town.

Best Ice Cream ever!
Always have to make stops on our way past Plainwell to get some. Just 5 min off the highway it’s easy to get to.
There are couple of good restaurants nearby to, so you could have dinner before dessert if you want, but why would you. Life is short eat dessert first.

Oh man do I love their ice cream. You can’t go wrong with plainwell ice cream. Every time I go there it’s one of the best ice creams around. If you like amazing small town ice cream place you got to try them.

The list goes on and on. We don’t buy our ice cream from grocery stores anymore and drive 45 minutes to buy their half gallons here. So much better.

What ice cream should be! creamy, smooth, and full of true flavor. The standard ice cream should be judged by in southwest Michigan! In the summer we come here weekly always A+.

Such a cute, tiny little ice cream place. It’s like a step back in time. You’ll find a colorful selection of full fat flavors displayed on a wooden sign and walls full of ice cream themed décor. A great little place to stop for a sweet treat.

This is the best ice cream I’ve found for awhile. I had peanut butter fudge and Caribbean Caramel. The prices were reasonable. Looking forward to stopping here again.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for PLAINWELL ice cream! I admit it. I am an ice cream snob. I eat good ice cream, or no ice cream at all. Plainwell Ice Cream Co is the only place I prefer to go and I will drive 50 minutes roundtrip just for their Cappuccino or Lemon or Peanut Butter Fudge. Hands down the creamiest, most flavorful ice cream and the friendliest owners and wait staff around. A family favorite for years and a place we always visit on special occasions and with out of town guests, Plainwell Ice Cream never disappoints.

Pretty much the best ice cream I’ve had. Tried peanut butter fudge and salted caramel so far. Both equally good.

Hands down the best ice cream you will ever have. Grew up on Blue Moon, switched to French Silk when I was older and never looked back! You won’t regret coming here, trust me.

Great little pit-​stop in the middle of nowhere Michigan.
Totally worth it to hop out of the car and try several flavors of creamy– delish– goodness. Nothing says summer time fun like a double scoop of country fresh ice cream on a crispy cone.
The staff is friendly and they have an extensive selection of delectable treats. I tried the blue moon and some incredible caramel concoction. Mmmmm hmmm YUM!
