99 Ranch Market

Today, I bought a dozen packs of dumpling wraps to cook dumplings for dinner. When I opened the first four. I found three of them had fungus and rotten slices with disgusting smell. I put them in the trash can immediately. But It is not the end. I came back to the store with unopened packages for return and I met the worst customer service; her name is Kelly. When I show her the pictures, she argued that I had to bring the open packages for full refund. Otherwise, she cannot take my complaint is valid and refused full refund. She seemed that her loud voice proved she is right. She "generously" issue refund for the unopened products and tried to teach me it is exceptional favor. Her attitude is more bothering than the disgusting quality of the food. She never said "Sorry" As she finished refund, she bought the products back to the fridge and restock them!!! She didn't even check the package... BEWARE, my dear neighbors and STAY AWAY from this place!!

Had everything I hoped it would have. Been craving longanesa sausage for the longest time and was able to get it!

Yeah this is my new joint we come here a lot now the food is amazing in the deli area. But we mostly come for our teas and snacks. This is one of the cheapest and best places to buy meats.

If I had not fallen in love with H Mart first this would probably be a 5**** review.
I am a proud holder of a 99 Ranch card, (which btw works as a Kroger card, and if they’re still around probably an Albertson’s card as well. Try it!), I carry it as a badge of honor, a show that I am a man of international tastes, and aspirations, and 99 Ranch certainly caters to those aspirations.
I come her for the Taiwanese BBQ sauce which my Taiwanese friend Ya Lun (on Unilocal) introduced to me, which has helped me grill amazing chicken, I come here also for the delicious eggplant, and great value of a 2 – 5 item lunch. Why go to Panda Express when you can have Chinese this authentic?!
I am very happy that they opened in Carrollton, next to DAISO, and across from H-​Mart. The Carrollton local, is of course shinier, but the Plano one is just as grand, and offers the same awesomeness as the Carrollton one, I also highly recommend their kitchenware section, there is a reason Fine China has been so popular, because East Asians simply kick butt at making awesome looking kitchen ware.

so H Mart don’t get to cocky this place can give you a run for your money so be careful honey,
speaking of honey they got some yummy honey, and crummy honey cakes,
its all yummy in your tummy
so get on your knees and say thank you please, you don’t have to speak Chinese, to enjoy the bees knees out of this place, and stuff your face, with Chinese food for days.

I have been in many different ethnic grocery stores and most have a similar homey feel and items everywhere. Piles of this, cookies like that, fish, meat, prepared items. All are mostly the same. 99 Ranch was pristine, organized, clean and just put together well. I’ve been in many Asian markets and none looked like this place.
In this town, H Mart is what everyone knows but 99 Ranch is where it should be. I’ve never been in an Asian grocery store that had hot, fresh rolls and bread. Also a lady shouting out «Hot buns» «Fresh bread» and the smells were welcoming.
My daughter and I were killing some time before heading to friends for thanksgiving. I wanted to introduce my seven year old to some new foods that she had never seen. She like the veggies and all the noodles. I showed her the fish and told her what to look for when getting fresh fish. Then we proceeded to pick out several buns to bring over for thanksgiving. The place was busy. We found a variety of buns and the bakery area was bustling and there were some really beautiful desserts as well. The buns were roughly a buck a piece, maybe a little more.
There was also a food court area which I’m told is pretty good and I really wanted a bahn mi or a bowl of phở. All I know is that this place looked to be doing really well and I don’t see it going anywhere soon. I was very impressed with 99 Ranch. You should go check it out and soon. Just explore and find something new to try.

I am a carb addict so when I come here to pick up some essentials (like my 25 lbs of rice and VineCafe packets!) I have to stop by the bakery. Everything is fresh and yummy. I love their Portuguese style egg tarts!!! I like that they list their ingredients too for food allergies. They’ve got a huge selection and is less expensive than the bakery at HMart.

Who would’ve thought that there was a mini food court inside a grocery store??? I love this concept! The food court consisted of the typical authentic Chinese cuisine in addition to DIM SUM! Basicaly, you walk up to the counter and point at whichever item you would like to order and pay at the cash register (also found at a typical, standard Chinese restaurant).
My sister and I ordered the Dim Sum’s shrimp and pork dumpling (Siu Mai) and shared the duck/​wonton noodle soup. This is also considered our «snack» after grocery shopping and it was the perfect amount of food. I really enjoyed the shrimp dumpling the best out of all the item options via Dim Sum a la carte. The duck/​wonton noodle soup was also really good. Everything about it was amazing about it. The flavoring was tasted to perfection and the noodles were cooked perfectly as well.
Overall: You can expect to see me back here everytime I go grocery shopping which could be on a weekly basis. Did I mention how cheap everything is? I almost feel as if I was eating on the streets of Taiwan or China and for even the same price. This might be my new favorite grocery store.

Cleanest Asian grocery store in DFW even still stinky!!! Also their bakery is the best and cheap!!!

The odor here is not nearly as strong as your typical Asian supermarket caused by the commingling of fresh seafood, fermented whatnots and shelves displayed with pungent sauces. They offer a lot of Chinese products. Their vegetables are a great bargain. However, I would not recommend this place if you’re shopping for Vietnamese groceries. The selection is lacking and what they do have is ridiculously over-​priced compared to a Vietnamese grocery store; e.g. Hong Kong in Garland.

For Asian dining options I highly recommend the food court. Brings back memories of eating in China. My family enjoys the dim sum the most.
As for the supermarket, we can find more Chinese options than other markets.

ASIAN BAKERIES ARE THE BEST!
Seriously every time I’m back in town I *have* to visit their bakery so I can get my fixin of the red bean mochi bun and their bo luo bun aiyaaa.
Red bean mochi bun: red bean paste filling coated with a thin mochi layer surrounded by delicious carbs.
Bo luo bun: also known as «pineapple bun» yet there is no pineapple in here lol. It’s called a pineapple bun because the top of the bun resembles the outside pattern of a pineapple. The top is slightly crunchy and there is no filling. Just a sweet bun (but not too sweet because Asian bakers are good at that :))
Pricing is good too (like $ 1 – 2 per bun!!). Be sure to go in the mornings because they might run out of your favorite pastry come nighttime. :(((Speaking from experience)
NO minimum for cards! :) The cashier workers usually respond to me in Chinese (I’m Vietnamese) but I just smile and say «xiexie» and run off with my goods (after paying)!!

Yay! They have a bistro b satellite restaurant called «what the phở» that just opened 4 moths ago! Eggrolls $¼ & banh mi buy one get one! ($ 2ea)! Cheaper than most other banh mi places. Che and boba too! Rice plates & entrees look great too! Can’t wait to go try the phở and rice plates! So happy they opened here! Saves me the trip richardson! Grocery n selection for asian/​Chinese items are great! Fresh! Bakery is awesome! Viet coffee there is good from the bakery!

The bakery here is one of my favorites. Try to go early during the weekdays because on the weekends, it gets super busy which means more waiting time to check out with your baked goods. The food court, like others said, has pretty ok food for the price. $ 4 for a noodle soup and $ 5 for a to go box with rice or noodles and 3 sides.
As going there for groceries, i like how you don’t have to wait forever to check out due to all the staff compared to other markets. Also, sign up for a rewards card because you can use it for food court purchases as well!

Great place that I didn’t know existed after a year living in Dallas! This place is very similar to H-​Mart, but not based only on the Korean culture. They have a few fast food restaurants in the store — one place in particular sells dim sum. It’s the only place
I tried and loved a couple of their dishes –beef honeycomb, shrimp shumai, and spare ribs. My boyfriend and I ordered more and it turned out to be very inexpensive. I’d recommend giving this place a try to anyone! I’d love to come back soon and discover more things that I would like about this place!

Almost every time I get into Plano, my dad and I eat lunch inside of Ranch 99 Market.
They have pretty good food and a variety of it — whether you’re looking for dim sum, Taiwanese breakfast foods, fresh & hot soymilk, ramen, beef noodles, rice with some meat & veggie sides, Asian bread, or egg tarts, Ranch 99 pretty much has it all. They even just opened up a Phở store inside that sells Vietnamese food and drinks! The food is not outstanding, but it is relatively cheap and delicious!
The best part? Yummy boba milk tea for only $ 1.25. This is a true story.

Every time I go back to Dallas, I load up on fresh seafood and other grocery goods at Ranch 99. They always have great deals and has everything an Asian person would need. The produce, meats, and seafood are fresh and the whole market is pretty darn clean.
There’s also a bakery and you can get bubble tea. Small food court is also there if you want to drop in for a quick bite while shopping for groceries.
I wish they would open one up in Austin, TX as we are lacking an Asian market of this caliber. If they opened up they would be able to sustain business just off me alone.

If you ever want to, come to this place for breakfast. Because this place does breakfast beautifully.
I’ve never had congee this good, full of ground pork, or beef, or whatever you want to put in it. The you tiao was crispy, perfect for dunking, and just so, so, so good. I’m not a big fan of dim sum (I know, shocker), and then don’t have a ton of it, but if you want a standard Chinese breakfast, please come here.

Had a craving to make some dongpo pork (pork belly) and decided to drive across town to come back to Ranch 99 to get my ingredients. I really like this place because it’s just so darn Chinese-​y. It’s not as clean as H Mart but I come here nonetheless when I miss the sound of angry Chinese moms yelling at their kids to stop poking at the gigantic jack fruit (Please See Attachment).
Things I like: They have a mini food court area that serves a variety of yummy Chinese food like the rice and 3 sides, dim sum, roast pork and duck and other little small eats. They also have a little bakery and coffee shop which is a great place to get a snack to munch on before you walk 10 steps to the food court and munch on more stuff.

Not your average Asian market, 99 Ranch Market is clean, well stocked and organized.
There is a bakery and dim sum shop inside. The food is okay but cheap. You can easily feed four adults in under $ 20.
There is a wide selection however prices are average and nothing to brag about. I would go here if I lived closer but wouldn’t go out of my way for.

Much bigger, and even «cleaner» than Hmart Carrollton! Haven’t checked out Hmart Plano yet. I use to think Hmart was the cleanest, most organized Asian grocery store ever! Ranch 99 is even bigger… well the one in Plano anyway. Ranch 99 in San Diego is dirty and messy. Anyway, the weekend crowd can get quite massive. Makes me not wanna deal with the traffic, but when you get a chance to go, it has everything you need: food court, bakery, roasted duck/​pork, seafood, beverage, large selection of produce, beauty/​makeup shop etc. Think it has a cajun food stand in the food court.
I gotta say, I love their egg tarts!!! (the next best thing to the one in San Fran that’s for sure). …but cheaper! They usually have them out next to the cashiers in the bakery.
I would be a «regular» here, but it’s too far from home.
