The food is better than Sichuanese Cuisine across the street! Both are recommendable, very authentic Chinese restaurants, but I like the variety in flavor of Bei Wei a tad bit more. Seems like it could be the next hub for Chinese families. Food was a yummy 5, but the servers were confusingly incompetent(maybe both new?). I saw that other Unilocalers recommended the eggplant, so naturally I ordered that… and our waiter said he didn’t know they had that. Another waiter then came over to take the rest of the order. My friend ordered the duck and bei wei chicken, and then this different waiter gets confused and checks the menu.twice. After the second waiter left, my friends and I just sat amused in the awkwardness. I hope we get what we ordered: D it was more funny than frustrating Back to the food, all three were nomnomnom, as in I overate because it was so good.(SAUTEED) EGGPLANT can be a tricky thing, but I really liked how it was made! BEIWEICHICKEN was a good competitor to Sichuanese’s Spicy Chicken ;) SMOKEDDUCK was elegant in taste– good because the simple quality. Lots of leftovers even after overeating!

This was the worst fucking experience ever! I ordered a bunch of food and one of my orders was wrong. When I asked to exchange it the lady insulted me by saying«You change clothes and shoes» and told me that she would NOT make me the correct entrée because that would cost her too much money by throwing it away. She also told me I should keep the entrée I already had because it was healthier for me! And since I am plus-size I cant help but to think that she was insulting my weight! I was in enraged!

Best spot if your in a tight budget. Food portion is very much more enough for two person. So get ready to pig out and save up room to eat here.

Stopped here for the mu shu pork. The menu says it is «North East Style». Not sure what that means, but the waitress asked us if we wanted it «American style». We answered«yes», and got it exactly as we expected, with pancakes and hoisin sauce. But when we got it to go a couple of weeks later, it came with neither neither the pancakes nor the hoisin sauce. Maybe this has something to do with«North East Style» vs «American Style»(we hadn’t specified«American Style» when we ordered it to go”). In any event, it was delicious, and is our go-to place for this dish. One thing to note — some of the employees seem to have somewhat limited command of the English language. On our visits, most of the customers were Asian(which, political-correctness be damned, is probably a good thing for a Chinese restaurant).

Been here more than a few times, tried over 50% of the menu items and they are all above average. None of them is spectacular but they are good enough to go back.

Great food with no MSG added. The service is okay, but it is a little pricey in comparison to other like it. Try the tea smoked duck.

This is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever had. The food is from the northeastern area. No msg/post meal coma that I usually have after eating«Chinese» food. It is really tasty and authentic. You know it’s authentic when most of the patrons, servers, and chefs are Chinese. Sauteed eggplant. Delicious! Lamb kabob. Get one per person. I don’t normally like lamb. This is well seasoned and didn’t have a gamey flavor that I usually associate with lamb. Delicious! Mongolian lamb. Again well seasoned lamb, the onions are my favorite part, they have a crunch with a hint of sweetness. Wok pal pork. Thin and Crunchy, on the sweeter side Spicy fried intestine. Ok, I know this sounds gross. Give it a chance. It was actually my favorite. The textures really did it for me. Outer crunch that’s battered, the inside had a lighter crunch then was a tender. Jasmine tea to wash it down. This place is a hidden gem.

I can’t figure it out why so many 4 – 5 stars it’s not even Panda Express quality. The only good thing was spring rolls which were fresh and homemade hence 2 stars. I assure u in that area there are much better and authentic options strongly suggest you to skip this place. Food is not fresh and is bland. Soup was cold chicken was dry.

It’s OK if you want American style Chinese food such as Kung Pao Chicken and General Tsao’s chicken, but you could have some authentic Chinese dishes here if you want. For appetizer, try the Pork baozi, lamb kabab, Beiwei hamburger(Row Jia Mo) and Rainbow Five. For entrée, Pork fragrance spicy Pork dry tofu jalapeño Pork elbow Sautéed eggplant Cumin beef/lamb Mongolian beef Scallion beef/lamb Sautéed fish Pork fish spinach Hot boiled fish/beef Luandun Pickled rib Pork bean jelly Northern Mushu pork… Just try something new.

This place is good for large parties because they have a separate room in the back. They used to be at the valley view mall area and they opened up another location here! It’s so convenient because it’s closer to me. They have the best sautéed eggplant! Although sometimes it can be a little too oily, it’s delicious! Their Mongolian beef is also a classic to get! The onions are always cooked perfectly! I would try to avoid coming here when it’s super busy because they don’t have enough people working so you’ll definitely have to wait a while before your food comes out. But other than that, the waiters and owner are super kind and you also get a coupon for a certain amount off your next visit!

Been to this place many times. Never disappointed. They have big round tables in you come in large group. Their dishes are good. We like their spicy chicken(ma la chi). Their sour pork soup is good too. Their dishes’ taste never changes, which is good. I will definitely go this place again.

Love this place. Been here three times and each time the soup with pickled cabbage is on the spot(doesn’t sound appetizing to those unfamiliar with the dish but it’s really good)! Also, last time I got their lamb kabobs which had so much meat on them, it was quite a bargain. The meat was juicy and seasoned just right. The rou jia muo(Chinese sandwich with pork) was great too. I only remember one time the skin of the eggplant in some dish was pretty tough and hard to chew but the flavor was still delicious. This place is perfect for authentic Northern Chinese food — it was our friend from North China who took us here and told us that yes, it was a decent place for a restaurant in the U.S. I recommend everyone take a break from the traditional Chinese we usually see and try this little place out. It won’t disappoint. Side note: not sure if they do this anymore, but the last two times I’ve been they’ve given us a gift certificate worth 10% of our bill on that visit, good for the next visit if used within one month. We don’t go out to eat often enough to actually take advantage of this, but it’s a pretty good deal.

I came here for a late lunch and while we were the only patrons the food was the best I had in years and the best in Texas. The egg drop soup was goodand both shrimp fried rice and shrimp low main were delicious. We’ll be again and again.

My wife and I came here with my mother-in-law a few weeks ago and came away quite disappointed with our dining here. The beef flat noodles were rather bland and I don’t even recall what else we ordered here(some thinly sliced potato dish some buns and a vegetable dish). None of us came away with a favorable impression here.

Overall it is a not bad Chinese restaurant. However, the reason I gave a two star because after I with my friends finished lunch, I saw the waiter took out the spoon from the rice box and instead of dumping the leftover, she took it directly back to the kitchen! YES! The rice leftover is reusable for the future customer. I feel so sick and will never ever go there agin! Maybe your rice is from somebody else’s leftover…

Clean, tasty, and great prices. While I’m still personally partial to Sichuanese food, Bei Wei does Northern Chinese food well, and they have a lot of very healthy options. Great new addition to the Chinese restaurants in Plano!

I can’t speak for any issues experienced during lunch but I can attest to great experiences for dinner! We’ve been there 5 times or so since they opened in 2013 and order their authentic/traditional Chinese dishes. We went recently, after a long hiatus, and was very impressed that food seemed to have gotten BETTER(they were delicious to begin with), portions were great, and servers/service was nice — the manager remembered & greeted us warmly despite our long overdue visit. I love the pictures on menu and pricing is fair. Restaurant is clean and food arrived promptly. They pride themselves on using quality and fresh ingredients. It is truly a nightmare trying to find Chinese restaurants around the area that fit our picky criteria — authentic delicious food + good service + clean environment. I believe Bei Wei fits the bill!
