Boardroom Salon for Men

Came in looking for a place to get my hair cut which hasn’t been easy cause I have had a prior business relationship with a barber for many years. Now I’m here in Plano for work. Came and got Flora for my stylist. After debating, I went with the benchmark and got a year long membership cause of the great experience. I look forward to the many more experiences here.

Like Prometheus bringing fire from Mount Olympus, I feel compelled to share with the world! From the benchmark service with the warm face towel, paraffin hand dip, and forearm massage to the carefully crafted haircut by classically trained scissor-​ninjas, the Boardroom Lakeside staff is clearly exceptional. Sarah will take you on an hour journey so relaxing, you’ll weep when it’s time to return to the harsh outside world. Enjoying a beer during the whole experience is icing on the cake. Take my advice. It’s time to treat yourself. Take my advice. Call them up. Ask for Sarah and get the Benchmark. Become the new and relaxed person you were always meant to be!

New to the area and looking for a salon that I could call home. After a 15 minute haircut I felt like I should have just gone to Supercuts. Nothing wrong with Supercuts, but I would have paid ¹⁄₃ for the same cut. I’m still looking for that salon:(

Very pleased with my 2^nd trip to the Boardroom; much better experience over the Watters Creek location during my first appointment. Scheduled for a Saturday morning on Saturday and selected Laura. Check in was smooth as I used my silent auction coupon for a Benchmark service. It had been too long between cuts so Laura verified how much and where to cut. She did great and my wife was pleased (except for the pampering I received as part of the Benchmark — lol). I will go back to this location and ask for Laura with my upgrade coupon.

This place is solid!
My 8 year old son is the «man of the house» and enjoys doing things that make him feel like a «man.» When it came time to get his haircut before school started, I figured we’d try this place out. It is in a convenient location (right next to Mi Cocina at Preston and Springcreek) and was easy to find.
First off. .. being able to book appointments online is a HUGE plus for me. It provides me the availability to make the appointment when I want, with whom I want without having to call. (I’ve noticed some places try to almost haggle with you over times in order to fill their slowest times of the day. I get it. Just annoying to me.)
THEN. .. their prices are all listed online which makes it easy for first-​time clients. You’re not having to ask or just hope you’re not getting charged an arm, leg or kidney when you get there.
So I booked the appointment the night before and when we arrived, the receptionist was warm, friendly and offered us both beverages and let us know that the stylist would be with us in just a moment. I think we sat in the waiting area for less than a minute. Which was a bummer to me because they had on ESPN and the over-​sized leather chair was wonderful after a day of insanity.
When Sarah came to get us, she allowed me to come back and explain what would be happening to my son’s hair. She was very detailed and ensured she knew exactly what it was that I was looking for before beginning. She was warm, sweet and immediately put my son at ease.
While she was cutting his hair, she stopped regularly to ask questions if I wanted it shorter or if it was good where it was. (I basically told her the type of hair cut I wanted but told her to do what she wanted in terms of length etc.) She did EXACTLY what I’d wanted done and was such a sweetheart.
Now. .. my son uses salon products on his hair and it seems he’s getting new product every other time he gets his hair cut. BUT. .. it was nice to have a stylist that wasn’t at all pushy yet was still informative about what she recommended when asked.
When we were done, she led us to the front, showed us the product I’d inquired about and then led us back to the front reception area to pay. The product we purchased was actually cheaper in the store than on Amazon. (Out of curiosity, I checked.) So I can’t complain. Good, quality products, pleasant staff, clean and classy establishment and decent prices.
We’ll continue to see Sarah for his hair care.

This place is great… They have a nice waiting room, even though I have never really spent time in it. When I walk in it is usually straight to the chair and the stylist I use Christina is awesome. Also, if you have been there but haven’t gotten the Benchmark you should try it… it is definitely worth the price. The memberships are good but I am not sure they are worth the money I really think if I’m going to pay upfront then the haircut should be significantly cheaper than the regular price. Just my opinion… otherwise this is a great place.

I looked around for what seemed like forever before I came in, making a blind appointment with Lettie. She has made me a believer that a good, consistent haircut is not only possible, it’s something you can count on. She never disappoints. And her Benchmark service is remarkable. I can’t recommend Lettie and The Boardroom highly enough.

This place is amazing! Have been going here a while, and I always leave happy. Everyone is so friendly!
Also, Nikki is an amazing stylist! I am always looking to play around with my hairstyle, and she is right there with suggestions and advice and lots of expertise! As I said, I always leave happy!

excellent place. i was in the area and decided to stop by for a haircut. nikki was my stylist and did an awesome job. from the moment i walked in the door and kallie greeted me to the time i left was above the top. ill be going back!

I just happened upon this place in researching where to buy beard oil for my beard. The moment I walked in I was greeted with a friendly smile. I asked about the beard oil and was then approached by a VERY beautiful lady named Nikki who was immediately very helpful and told me about the products I was looking for. she invited me over to her chair to sample the products. I felt very comfortable and appreciated. Nikki then show me around the facility. I’ll have to be honest I have now decided to grow out my hair so I can come back and see Nikki! I didn’t think this kind of friendly, caring service still exist in our world today! this place offers manicures, pedicures, massages and other amazing services in a very cool environment. apparently you can even get a beer or soda in the process! I will definitely be back as soon as My hair grows out again. thank you Boardroom and thank you beautiful Nikki! I’ll be back.

This is a great salon for men. I just relocated from Los Angeles and found this place. Excellent service, clean, friendly environment. Brittany is an amazing stylist!

After my very satisfied first visit about a month ago, I decided give my friend a treat for his birthday and brought him to this place (it was about time I get my hair cut as well). My friend has only been to places where they just give you a quick mediocre hair cut and let you be on your way; he wasn’t quite familiar with getting pampered. We both enjoyed our time there and were very happy with our looks when we walked out of there. I have to say that they never fail to satisfy their clients.

I’ve never been a fan of women only /​men only establishments, but I’ve got to admit, when my husband found this place I was pretty impressed. He went from a shaggy haired, gets his haircut once in a blue moon type of guy to a Boardroom Member. All because he could go every couple of weeks and enjoy a haircut and shampoo with a relaxing arm and scalp massage. Now, if only I can convince him to get a razor shave!

A solid experience. I dropped in the day after Christmas and was able to get a walk-​in appointment. My stylist did a good job, cut to the right length, and I was out in about 30 minutes.
–1 star because I’m a little annoyed with their marketing and their pricing. $ 40 for a basic haircut in Plano is steep. When I left I received an ‘upgrade’ coupon from «The Express» to «The Benchmark» for my next visit. And apparently if you’re referred to The Boardroom by an existing customer, you get this same free upgrade and the referrer gets a «Benchmark» free haircut. But apparently if you (the new customer) take the initiative and find The Boardroom all on your own (= zero customer acquisition cost for them) you don’t get this same ‘upgrade’. So basically everyone who gets haircuts there gets this ‘upgrade’ except for the guy that digs this place up on Google or Unilocal for the first time. How does THAT make sense?

FANTASTIC experience! A smooth, relaxing shave and great haircut. So much so that Lettie convinced me to buy into the Executive membership. What a great group of pros who make you feel welcome and comfortable. This location is a little off the beaten path for me but it’s completely worth the few extra miles.

I’ve had my hair cut a many different mens salons in the Dallas area and around the world but this one is by far my favorite. The variety of services offered and the high attention to detail that the stylists offer is fantastic. The eucalyptus hot towel, paraffin hand wax dip and arm massage are fantastic. The Bechmark at the Boardroom Salon sets the bar high for all others. I’m going in for a straight razor shave next!

Jessy has been cutting my hair for a year. She does a great job cutting my hair and keeping the look fresh. I highly recommend making an appointment with her.

Way overpriced. I went here once and paid an arm and a leg for a 10 minute haircut, There is no difference between this place and any other $ 5 haircut joint except you pay 8 times more. Crazy expensive place. Not impressed!

I made an appointment and then was contacted by the receptionist that they wanted to change or cancel and reschedule me. I told them I had a special event in the evening and that I needed to be groomed for it but they insisted on the change. They said they were short handed — yet I am the customer with a valid booked time slot done several days before. They would not honor my appointment.
In life and in the services business you get one chance to make a great impression — they did not. My experience was not positive. I hope yours, is better.

After the owner had contacted me to ask for further feedback, I decided to return to the Boardroom. Anytime an owner is vested in his business to solicit input form customers, I am all for giving them a second shot.
My stylist was Roxy and she was way cool. She was easy to talk to and she was definitely well skilled.
Opted for the Benchmark and the Business Facial. TOTAL RELAXATION! If there was a lounge chair available, I’d probably still be napping. The haircut turned out a bit shorter than I’d wished but it’ll be fine after it grows out in a week.
I’ll definitely return.
