As far as public parks goes, for Plano this is a very nice one. They have constantly made improvements and although there is some cleanup that needs to happen, it always feel safe and looks cared for. We enjoy bringing the dogs here. And they enjoy coming here. There is a wide assortment of natural wildlife as well as indigenous vegetation of all types. Be sure to read about the nutria and say hello to the ducks. Quack!

Beautiful and well kept. The trail extends on the South from Harrington Park(W 16th St.) to the North end of Jack Carter Park(newly renovated dog park on Pleasant Valley Dr.) and connects along the way to the Bluebonnet Trail. I love that the trail has lots of trees which makes it a few degrees cooler. It also just completed its year-long renovation and now boasts quite a few new sitting areas, several well-shaded jetties, platform steps, attractive retainer walls, and enhanced offshoots. I love running or biking on this trail.

This is a great trail for biking. It’s a great quick trail to go speeding down. Often there are pedestrians so be best to be careful where you ride. This trail has lots of great views of Plano including the underpasses. When it does rain some of the underpasses might get flooded. But that only happens during the spring months and fall months when North Texas gets pounded with precipitation. The trail also takes you to blue bonnet trail by foot or by bike if you choose. There are plans to connect this trail to downtown Plano.

One of my favorite trails to bike in Dallas-Fort Worth. It winds through some really nice neighborhoods. The City of Plano is working on improving a few areas, including landscaping around a small pond. There are two separate paths through part of Chisolm Trail, so you can spice up your ride/walk/run in a few different ways. This is a great trail for biking because there are very few roads to cross and none of them are busy. From Harrington Park up to Legacy and back is between 10 and 11 miles, depending on which paths you take. Overall, this is one of the main paved trails in the DFW area I frequent(the others being Campion in Irving and White Rock Creek in Dallas). Of those three, it is usually the least congested but it has the most walkers/runners, so keep an eye out bikers! FYI: There is a posted 15 mph speed limit on this trail.

Loving this trail for a quick run or walk around Plano! There’s always lots of folks out and it stretches out pretty far so you can get a few loops in. Also very quiet and safe neighborhood so I recommend you come here anytime!
