Dark Hour Haunted House

Great job with Spring Fever. I will definitely attend the non-​Halloween shows.

AWESOME HAUNT
I have been to dozens of Haunts in the area and dark hour tops them all.
Great mix of actors and animatronics, every inch is fully designed and there are ‘no seams’ as they say.
I love coming here all year round. Besides the Halloween show, my favorite shows are Love is Blind, Wreck the Halls, and Dog Days.
Side Note: The Zombie Escape challenge is a totally separate business that just rents the space.

Loved this haunt! I went the day before Halloween, and it was very crowded, so we had to wait in line for about an hour and a half, but its worth it. There’s 3 lines in total: one for getting a ticket stub, then you wait outside (some actors are in the line scaring people as well!), and lastly a line inside the building where dancers perform a show! After that is when you finally go in to the actual house. I was very impressed with the set and props included, as well as the actors. Great detail in the work with cool special effects. The experience is very fun if you like being scared!

WOW. I have found my new Halloween tradition. I just moved to Texas and was looking for a good haunted house, and the positive reviews for this place steered me here, and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! My voice was hoarse for screaming so much, and my fiancée had several good scares too. There is an awesome dance performance while you wait, and you spend a good 30 – 40 minutes between the 2 houses, so you definitely get what you pay for.
Things to know:
–There are 2 houses. You can do one for $ 26, or both for $ 33. DEFINITELY do BOTH.
–There’s a $ 3 coupon on Facebook, that I’ve read is there every year. The only thing is, you have to show it to them at the ticketing counter and can’t apply it if you buy in advance online. The negative is that it is a longer wait when you get there, but the positives are that you saved $ 3 AND you don’t have to pay the nearly $ 3 online service fee, so you really saved $ 6.
–Get there early. We showed up at 7:30 on friday, october 30^th, 30 minutes after they opened, and waited an hour. BUT, this was probably their busiest night, so this is not a big deal. And once inside, I was blown away. But get there early.
I can’t say enough good things. The first house had amazing production value with animatronics and endless creativity, where as the 2^nd house was very old school, all in black and white, and using good old fashioned scare tactics. This is a most definite halloween visit!

Quality haunt! Top notch detail and overall spookiness. Worth the price of admission.

Mediocre at best. The actors and scenery is well done, but they let so many people in at a time that when you have people in front of you, you can literally see every single thing that’s gonna happen before you get there. Kind of a let down.

This is the second year our family (kids 12&15) has gone to Dark Hour on Halloween night. We purchase the combo pass online and the wait has never felt too long given the entertainment provided while waiting in line. It’s not cheap, but we definitely don’t feel cheated. The dancing zombies while waiting in line steal the show!
The main haunted house is more of a sensory overload with special effects, themed costumes, and animatronics. Whereas the second haunted house is more of the classic scare with people following you, etc.

They need to have more actors and less toys. It looked cool but I didn’t get scared at all. Too bad they don’t give refunds.

This is one of the best haunted houses that I’ve ever been to. I would recommend getting the combo pass. The main haunted house is longer than the second but they are equally fun and you get a different experience. The actors were great and the props were even better. You can tell they put A LOT of effort into customer satisfaction. They even had a live performance going on while you are waiting. It was a great overall experience!

It was great at first. About half way through we caught up the group in front of us (each group is 10ppl) and they caught up to the ones in front of them. Overall probably had about 40 ppl walking single file through the haunted house. It made it to where you couldnt be scared and overall boring (walked for about 15mins with nothing popping out at us). Its a great haunted house but they need to make sure groups stay seperated. I honestly feel like it was a waste of my money.

I’ve been to this haunted house for Halloween and now Christmas. This is hands down the absolute BEST haunted house I’ve ever been to. Both times my boyfriend and I have purchased the VIP tickets and they are way worth it. You get to go through however many times you want, you get a free shirt and a magnet or a key chain, and they definitely make you feel like you’re their number one priority.
The props and actors are amazing, the creators definitely know what they’re doing. I won’t say anything else so it’s not ruined but I will definitely continue to come for each months different themed haunted house.

My wife and I along with two friends decided to check this out last night, Halloween night. As we expected it was packed however we discovered that buying our tickets online allowed us to skip a major portion of the line. While waiting in lines to get in there is entertainment like people walking around in costumes messing with people, and then once you’re inside there’s a little show that they put on on the stage that was pretty cool. However the trip through the haunted house for me was very disappointing. A lot of cheesy animatronics and a few live people jumping out trying to scare people however they’re poorly hidden and can be seen well before you get to them. In my opinion a complete rip off for a $ 26 ticket. I don’t know what I was expecting but for that price I was definitely expecting a more scarier experience and a longer one. Probably won’t be back.

I loved this place! It was kind of short, especially since we bought the fast pass and didn’t have to wait in line, which was definitely worth it! Loved the set and the actors were good too. I was actually scared and I never get scared.

10 stars easily. I almost peed my pants three or four times. Seriously.
Beautifully crafted sets and perfectly timed frights and amazing actors. So much attention to detail– I wanted to go slow to see it all. But I was so scared I wanted to run too. And while you wait in line to go through they had awesome ‘thriller’ dancers!

I must admit I was impressed. I went in thinking uhm… Haunted house in Plano? Really? How scary can that be?
The location is nice, bathrooms are clean (no porta pottys!), and the staff is friendly.
Of course this is not Universal Studios (so don’t be jerks) but the animatronics were still pretty cool. Can’t wait to go back in October!

Quite possibly one of the best haunts I’ve been too … and it’s a first year haunt! The owners I’ve heard spent a TON of money on this place, and for what you see you are getting your moneys worth! I even had gotten a $ 3 off coupon from them! I would for sure go for the combo ticket, the second «smaller» attraction was more old school but very awesome.
The second haunt was associated with another multiple haunt attraction park and joined up with Dark hour this year. So you may recognize some of the items in the monster museum if you have been to it before, but the rest of the second half of their haunt is all new with it being all indoors now.
I look forward to coming back next year to see what they do to when they have more than a couple months to get everything put together.

One word… AMAZING!
When we pulled up it was free parking so there was no need to worry about any parking fees (YAY!) There were some creepy monsters and creepy things to meet us at the door, I guess you could say it was very «welcoming»
When we walked in we printed our tickets in advance so we skipped the long ticket line. They handed us official tickets so we could get in line. The line moved by pretty fast because we were so distracted by the monsters and the inline entertainment. It was just me and my father so they made us go in with a big group of people.
When we entered the house and the house was very «open» so not very scary because actors can’t really get In your face. But I must say, the details and props are some of the best I’ve ever seen in my whole life! Very detailed and put together!
Is it worth your money? Definitely!
Tips for people who plan to come:
1.print out your ticket in advance! You get to skip the long lines.
2. Get there early so you can beat the rush.
3. Buy the combo pass, you get 2 houses!

Let me start by saying its completely in door, YAY! No mud or parking issues!
The wait in line wasn’t too bad. i honestly don’t even remember how long I waited. I went on a Friday around 9:30. There’s plenty of entertainment to keep you busy.
Next, let me say I’m not a scaredy cat but I’m by no means a tough cookie when it comes to Halloween either! Stephen Kings It is the scariest movie for me to this day! Anyhow, I was definitely scared! Not like crap my pants scared but definitely several screams, moments where I froze, ran and even pushed others in front of me since I was the leader.
Definite worth the $ 32! I did the smaller shorter haunted house too! It was definitely worth it for an additional $ 6 or so.
The thought that went into this place is amazing!!! The actors & setup is awesome!!! No half assing at all!!!

The only reason I didn’t put it as 5 stars is because I think they could improve… they’re not the best yet. But as far as haunted houses in suburban areas go, this is the one to see! I will say that I was disappointed by the lack of a dance number/​pre-​show while I was waiting in line. Seems as though other reviewers got that experience and a few of my friends who checked in on Facebook got that experience as well. I got nothing.
They DO have great actors/​actresses around to «frighten» you. I would definitely recommend getting the 2 hauntings pass. That is, it’s $ 35/​person and you get to go to both haunted houses.
The first one is a mix. It’s got the zombies, monsters, weird indian things, yelling, scary noises, etc, etc, etc… a lot of the typical scary stuff (no clowns!) This one is pretty awesome and the longest of the 2.
The second one is a play on classics. It’s really done well, and it’s a unique idea. It’s a history of creatures starting with Dracula. Starts with a museum, and it’s all in black and white. Seriously, this was a really creative idea that I haven’t seen anywhere else before! The only downside is that this one is so short. Only took about 10 minutes to walk through. The other one was about 20. If they made this one the longer one, it would have been perfect!
All in all? For 2 people it was $ 70. A bit pricey, but not horrible. Could be better, could be worse. But for the effects used and the outstanding cast and makeup, I’d say it’s worth the money. Give it a shot!

A haunted house not 10 minutes from where I live?! Awesome! I’ve seen the billboard for this place and decided to visit during the opening weekend. It’s located inside the old Sports Authority right across from the Fry’s Electronic of Plano Parkway and 75.
Right off the bat, something that I thought was super unique was they put on a dance number while I was waiting in line to enter the house.
The house itself has animatronics, the people who yell and hoot and holler, and all that good stuff. Some of it looks a little hokey, but they definitely have some neat stuff to enjoy.
The second house had a little museum area that a tour guide will give a synopsis of, and the it’s onto the second terrain.
If you buy the combo ticket, just note that the second house took a little under 10 minutes to walk through while the 1^st is about 20 – 30. It’s worth it to buy both, but I’m only making note so people don’t think that they’re getting two full haunted houses.
Would I say this is the best haunted house I’ve been to? No. Did I have a great time? Yes and I would totally recommend anyone who’s in the area to come visit, but I wouldn’t tell someone to drive an hour each way.
