Delicious N Fit, aside from having the worst restaurant name since Zeke’s Fried Dog Butthole, is a dedicated gluten-free restaurant in Plano. For those not in the know, «dedicated gluten-free» means that they don’t cook or serve ANYTHING that has wheat/rye/barley in it. Most people(myself included) avoid gluten because of celiac disease or autism. There’s no other reason to do so, excluding jackasses that think it’s a swell fad diet. These people deserve the crappy taste that usually comes with gluten-free food. Let me start by saying that there’s really no other reason to go to this restaurant. There’s an enormous relief that comes with the idea that no matter what I order on the menu, I’m not gonna get sick from it. There’s no chance of cross contamination or a waiter or cook that doesn’t understand any of these concepts. And it’s not that the food is bad. It’s just typical of any greasy spoon restaurant built into a gas station, only with much higher prices. I tried the fried chicken strips with gravy that was eerily reminiscent of semen, a club sandwich, and a giant piece of chocolate cake for desert. All of it was perfectly passable. Nothing special, but I didn’t regret eating there. The staff was mind-bogglingly inattentive to us. The waitress practically tossed our food onto the table and turned around to chat it up with another table. She made the rounds and seemed really good with all the other tables, so maybe it’s just that we weren’t regulars(nor will be, with that service), or it might have been that I’m not an old lady. If you’re a rich old, autistic lady with celiac disease and no sense of taste, this place gets top marks. If you’re none of the above except celiac, it gets a noncommital«meh». If you’re physically capable of eating wheat without getting sick, I highly recommend that you stay away from this place.
