I only shop at Dollar Tree for a few, specific items. On this trip, I wanted to purchase a ‘Congratulations’ greeting card for someone at work and a couple of helium balloons. The first balloon I chose — out of stock. So, I picked another one — but they were out of helium… in both tanks. Come on Dollar Tree, you can do better.

Needed to wrap up a last minute gift. $ 1 for gift wrapping paper and $ 1 for tape. SCORE!

I know, my husband thinks I’m cheap… but I’d like to call it being wise with my money. Everything in this store is $ 1, and c’mon… we’re in a recession. I’d rather spend $ 1 on floss than $ 3& save the other $ 2 for weekend activities. Add up the savings & you’ll find yourself coming back. Most recent purchases here: –50 pack Mint Plackers floss(high quality floss– I actually don’t cringe @ the thought of flossing anymore b/c it’s so much easier with these… and they don’t fall apart like the cheapy flossies) — Pack of 8 wedding bubbles(bought like 30 of these for my wedding; cheaper than Michael’s or online stores) & the bubbles work! — pack 20 of black clasp-free hairties(because I lose these all the time & definitely like $ 3 – 4 at Walmart) … tip: do NOT buy their bobby pins though; the paint chips — dustpan — 2 decks of playing cards — pack of 4 dice — tissue paper for gifts — pack of 48 clear plastic forks — metal wire trash can(like for under the desk) ***tip: this place is actually really good for travel-items(like toothbrush holders or small bottles, or travel packs of advil/etc.) AND wedding stuff– like frames for table numbers or small vases or votive holders/candle sticks*** And yes, they do take credit cards. Yes, they do exchanges if you buy the wrong thing & are very nice about it(but NOREFUNDS). Overall, definitely somewhere you should check out if you’re a student, like to get good deals, or just want to be SMART with your money!
