To All at Gun Master, I had purchased a Ruger LC9 S Pro form another gun store in West Plano two weeks back. After shooting 500+ rounds at Eagle Gun Range, it was clear that the rear sight windage was off. The gun was shooting to the left consistently for me and others. I went back to the store that I purchased it from, they looked at me like I had three heads and TOLD me «…it was me not the gun…». After about an hour of discussion, it became clear they weren’t going to do anything to help. But however, they did offered to sell me a $ 50 + laser bore sight? On the way out of the store, another customer mentioned Gun Master on Avenue K in Plano… So I called to see if you could adjust a rear sight on a new Ruger LC9 S Pro of mine. Then, during the same call, I asked if you could do it that day and you said sure bring it on in. So I drove over and you discussed the windage with me and how much I thought it was off to the left of the target etc. Without any more questions or BLAME, you did exactly what you said you could do, right then and there. Your Gun Smith adjusted the rear sight windage for me and additionally it only took him about 5 minutes… When I asked how much do I owe you, they said nothing«…just come back soon, we want your business…». WOW! Did I mention, WOW. Now that’s service and my new Ruger LC9 S Pro is «Dead On» at 25 yards! Great job and service, you have created a loyal customer for life. Like the customer I mentioned above, I will always mention to others Gun Master on Avenue K Plano, TX… I will be back soon and often. Thank you for your help and support,

Purchased my first weapon here. Salesman sent me down the road to Bullet Trap gun range so I could shoot and explore my options. I took a beginners class and returned to buy my pistol. That’s a good salesman who could have just pushed any Hollywood gun on me. They are my store and my recommended store.

The sales staff are pretty helpful, friendly and attentive. The prices are pretty good on the whole. The selection is fairly broad. My beef is with the gunsmith. I took three handguns in to be re-sighted. The first one he scratched up the slide and didn’t even seat the front sight properly. The second was done right. The third he dinged up the rear sight and scratched the front sight. I won’t be going back.

Well informed employees and pretty much everything you need to make your own ammo.

I received an email from SIG stating that if you purchased one of three or four different model 1911’s, they’d throw in a 1911 in .22 for free! Awesome! Called Cabellas and they stated they had the 1911(.45) in stock but SIG had their head up their butt, didn’t know what they were doing with the program and Cabellas wasn’t going to go out of their way to do anything for me. I called Gunmaster and they told me basically the same thing about SIG and the program but they’d look into for me and see what they could do. I asked if they wanted me to come up there and pay in advance and they said it wouldn’t be necessary. A phone call from Gunmaster a couple of days later saying that they talked to SIG and SIG couldn’t figure out what they were doing and that it didn’t look like it would happen. About two weeks later, I got a call from Gunmaster saying«Your Sig’s are in, come on up». What a pleasant surprise!!! Gunmaster went out of their way to get me the deal from SIG. AWESOME Customer service!!! Nice small shop. Friendly folks.

Have been here a couple times — and make the 30 minute drive for one reason: The staff. Helpful, welcoming, knowledgable. I look forward to coming to this shop b/c i learn something new every time. Today a staff member(I think Mike is his name) took 20 minutes to sight my rifle in for free(my setup wouldn’t fit in the vise so he had to improvise a method). Great place to ask questions, with great inventory and deals. Will be a repeat customer after today without a doubt.

Well stocked gun inventory; used and new. Along with a lot of reloading gadgets. Most helpful and informed staff. And best of all I was able to get pistol reloading powder during 2014 nationwide shortage. They have a notify system; just tell the staff what you are looking and they give you a call when it becomes available. Gunsmith services at low or no cost if you buy the items at shop.

Yesterday I stopped in with my son. Three people behind the counter talking with each other and completely ignored us when we walked in. They were too busy gripping about Dianne Feinstein. There were 2 Sigs under the glass I wanted to see not once did they ask if they could show me anything. Rude and unprofessional. With the lack of hep these guys demonstrated they would be perfect workers for healthcare dot gov. After 5 – 7 minutes we left. Btw– their ammo was over priced too.

Stopped by around lunch today and there were a few people there ahead of me but the first employee that freed up from another customer asked if I needed any help and quickly assisted me. They did the work on my rifle within a few minutes and I was out the door for a very reasonable price. I didn’t have a chance to browse the ammunition selection but the one box of 270 I looked at was within a few dollars of standard retail pricing. I will be back if I need any gunsmith type work done on any of my weapons.

I understand gunsmithing is a skilled trade, I also understand that all projects don’t go exactly as planned… so I am pretty darn patient when it comes to delays and longer then estimated turn-around… but Gunmasters went well beyond what any reasonable person could tolerate. On 7⁄2 I brought my Taurus PT1911 in and to see about getting night sights installed. The Gunsmith looked at it and said«oh ya i have done a few of these, because of the design I would suggest getting a big dot front sight and then i will have to cut out the rear sight into a large U configuration.» He showed me an example of the set up and I actually liked it even though it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. He said«I have to order the sights, being right before the 4th they may be delayed but I would guess 2 ½ to 3 weeks.» I specifically asked if he meant from when he got the sights in, and he said no total turn around. I didn’t hear anything at all from them so finally on 7⁄31 I called to get an update. The gunsmith got on the phone with me and said I just got the sights in two days ago, I am a little back logged but i will get on it in the next day or two. I reminded him of the fact he said 2.5−3 weeks and it was now 4 weeks and 3 days and he said«Nothing I can do I just got the sights.» No rhyme or reason why… and didn’t apologize for the delay. I said ok I expect to hear from you in a few days. As of today I still had heard nothing! I went into the store in person. The counter guy went and got the pistol and said I just need to ask the gunsmith about something. I knew darn well it wasn’t done at that point and proceeded to get hotter and hotter as i stood there for 10 mins waiting for the Gunsmith to come out from the back. He FINALLY comes out and opens the case, I see the front sight is off. He says ‘Oh ya I have been meaning to call you” he then walks behind the front counter and grabs a big dot front sight off a peg hook that had 3 or 4 others in packages in there and says ‘These don’t line up right and it is too far to adjust the rear sight so i need your permission to cut on the dove tail.” I fully admit I was about to loose my cool so I didn’t think to ask… BUT I am 95% sure this was what we had discussed the day we dropped it off that he was going to have to cut the rear sight into a big U shape… so why exactly he needed permission OR didn’t foresee this after having«done a few of these» is beyond me! I reminded him that he had told me when I dropped it off it was going to be 2÷12−3 weeks and now we are at 6, his response, «Ya I am on about a 6 week back log.» So obviously my next question was to ask why he didn’t mention that when I spoke to him two weeks prior… his response… blank stare. My next question was that if he had been«meaning to call me» what had he been waiting for over the two weeks since he told me «I’ll get on it in the next day or two»? His response… blank stare followed by ‘I cant control every detail going on, do you want me to finish this or not?’ At that point I gave him his response back(blank stare) as I took a few deep breaths to keep from loosing my cool and finally told him to put the original front sight back on right now and give me back my pistol. 10 mins later he hands me the pistol back, tells me to sign the book and never apologized or said anything else. Oh and to add insult to injury I had also asked for it to be stripped and cleaned and THAT hadn’t even been done. So in the end it took him 6 weeks and 4 days to remove a front sight and put it back on. Why business think that it is a better solution to keep their customers in the dark then to be up front is beyond me… then to not even take ownership for their horrible service??? You know how this whole thing(aggravated first time customer who will now never step foot in the store again, and bad review blasted anywhere I can put it) could have been avoided??? Heck… i will tell you three ways it could have been avoided. 1) Know your business and give a realistic estimate from the get go… I DONOT believe that suddenly he is back logged 6 weeks, I am positive he was the day I dropped it off… if he had said that day I can do this but I am swamped and it could take me 8 – 10 weeks before it is done… I may have not left it but I would have shopped there in the future and certainly wouldn’t have gotten upset. 2) When he spoke to me 2 weeks ago told me it was going to take longer then he thought it was going to right then(again SURELY must have been back logged by then ‘6 week back log’ doesn’t happen over night) or the second he realized he supposedly needed my permission for more work, pick up the phone and call then. OR barring all that 3) Took ownership today, apologized, and said, look things have gone crazy, I am sorry. Maybe offered to throw in the cleaning for free. DONOTDOBUSINESSHEREEVER!

I want to support my local gun shop but Gunmasters makes that a little hard. They have a gunsmith and thats excellent, but they take advantage on the ammo and firearm shortage. They totally GOUGE you! They price their ammo for twice what it cost before the shortage and they carry an attitude with that. They dont act like the local gun shop, instead the act like the big retailer who could careless.

I was greeted by the first available employee as I walked in. While he was in the back and I waited for him at the counter, every employee who passed me asked if I had been heloed. I saw the«girlie» ads up on the wall but they were certainly not porno. As an older female, I was not particularly bothered. I needed gunsmithing services and got them at what I consider a reasonable price. I will certainly be back.

I like Gunmaster fine… I wonder if the guy from Collyville was wearing an Obama button. They’ve always treated me well and gone out of their way to be helpful.

Had a firearm transferred in, an employee called me as soon as my firearm arrived. When I arrived to transfer I was greeted with a curious staff fun to work with and made the transfer very pleasurable! I would Highly recommend any transfers be done with GunMaster. Also browsed the store and seem to have fair prices for the area.

My experience was AWFUL! I brought my rifle in to replace the forearm. At the time, I was told it would take 1 – 2 days. After 4 days I called and was treated very rudely; I asked if my rifle was ready and I was told that, «they didn’t know when it would be ready, that they only had 1 gunsmith, etc». Eventually, I was told my rifle would be ready by the end of day. The next day I went into the store, was ignored for 10 minutes and then told no work had been done on my rifle. When I asked when it would be done, the answer was, «Cant’ say». I asked why they told me on the phone the work was done, the sale person looked at me with a blank stare. I ended up taking the rifle with me when I left. No apology for my inconvenience. Again, I would avoid this store; sales people are extremely rude and treat you like they are doing you a favor. I recommend going down the street to Bullet Trap. Higher quality of sales people, more products and much, much better pricing.
