I’m updating my review based on the«cut and paste» response Highland Homes left to my comment on their serivces. What I hadn’t explained before was that one of the head builders named Jeff came out and saw the problems, he talked to me in a very condescending way and ultimately fixed nothing. I left the review only after I had exhausted all the«warranty» requests and phone numbers in hopes they’d rectify the problem. I’m hoping to save other people the headache of choosing Highland. It’s not worth the extra money! The finishing work is so sloppy and in the end you could go with a less expensive builder and be happier. Highlands response to this review is what makes me crazy!!! They act like they have avenues for resolving the problems, but really you’re stuck with no recourse. You can’t run fast enough!!!

I do not recommend Highland Homes. My parents were looking for a home in the Plano area. They met with Ms. Krista Allen(sp?) who was a sales rep. Ms. Allen conducted herself in an incredibly unprofessional manner. She treated my parents with disrespect and contempt, rolling her eyes at the other Highland Homes salesperson when my parents asked about certain home options. I couldn’t believe that a salesperson would treat potential customers so poorly. Even after this experience, my parents put an offer on a home. Ms. Allen rejected all their requests. My parents were concerned that Highland didn’t even come back with a counteroffer. So they dropped the negotiation. And I’m glad they did. They took their business to another builder. We later heard from their their third-party home inspector that he found Highland Homes to be poor quality homes with many repairs needed after closing. The inspector also told us that Highland usually refuses to make any of those repairs. He also noted that his clients also had poor customer service from Highland. Take your money to another builder. It’ll be better spent.
