Hunter & Kramer

I noticed that my title company (Republic Title – consistently the top ranked title company in Dallas) uses Hunter & Kramer for the legal work on every one of the properties I buy. I’ve purchased quite a few (20+) challenging properties, with ownership issues, problematic liens, titles, etc. They’ve always done an exceptional job of sorting things out and preparing the properties for closing.
A few weeks ago, I wanted to transfer some real estate to a single mother who had lost her home at a Sheriff Sale and was trying to redeem it. I was impressed that when I called (Thursday, just before closing time), I was able to speak directly with Charles himself to determine the best course of action, and realizing that I was on a tight schedule was able to make an immediate appointment to transfer the deed the next day, Friday.
So myself, the mother who had lost her home, and the buyer of the home at the Sheriff Sale who was going to resell it to the mother all met in his office. When he realized that I was donating a property to help the mother redeem her home, he refused to charge any fee for it, and only charged for transferring the home from the Buyer at the Sheriff Sale to the mother.
I can’t speak to other aspects of Hunter & Kramer’s legal practice, but I was very impressed with the humanity, person-​ability, and professionalism in what Charles did for us. True – transferring a deed is a very simple legal process. But spending 30 minutes on the phone helping me know the best course of action, rearranging his schedule to fit us in, taking the time to answer everyone’s questions at the meeting – all for the standard $ 250 fee (including all City recording fees, etc.) – I was very impressed. It’s often how a person treats the smallest clients that shows their true character.

When you look up definition of «Good Ol Boys» in the dictionary, there should be a picture of these two yay-​hoos. My Grandmother had a very small estate and I mistakenly took it to this firm based on stated backgrounds. What happened was a series of unnecessary paperwork, confirming, re-​confirming, etc. etc. At the end of the whole thing, nearly half of Grandmom’s money was consumed by legal fees.
It was my fault for assuming that these guys were there to help me when, in fact, they’re in business to scam as much money as they can from clients. It’s not like they have to worry about repeat business with the estates. Don’t get caught off-​guard by these characters!
