Kiddin’ Around Play Care

My husband I were very impressed when we visited for the first time. Everyone was so warm and pleasant, they have a great facility, I wish I had a great place like this when I was a kid. Our daughter is 6 and she stayed there for 1hr to see how she would do for future visits. When we came back to get her she didn’t want to leave and was upset that we were back so soon! In that short period of time they had made them cookies. Needless to say she loves going there and goes often. This is a fun and safe place and everyone is very sweet and patient. I highly recommend this location.

Love this place! It took me awhile to work up the courage to drop my baby off at a place like this. The idea sounded nice but sounded so impersonal. I’ve been dropping my kid off here for about a year now for just a few hours at a time and he LOVES it! He’s 2 ½ and we’ve never had a problem, in fact, I’ve grown rather fond of a couple of the ladies that work here. They greet him each time with excitement and the place seems to be very clean. This place is a life saver!

If you have a small child, especially one still in diapers, do not send them here.
The staff was really nice, so when I dropped my toddler off, I thought she would be fine. It’s definitely not an every-​day place; as another reviewer mentioned, 18-​month-​olds are in with 12-​year-​olds. But it was clean and there were lots of things to do, so a couple of hours seemed fine.
When I picked my girl up, however, she had poop dripping down her legs. I figured that it had just happened and the staff hadn’t realized. But when I went to change her, the poop was crusted to her little hiney. She wailed when I wiped her, and she had an awful diaper rash for the week.
A friend of mine sent her infant, and though the tiny baby didn’t have a wet diaper all day, nobody ever contacted her about it.
Unfortunately, this just isn’t a safe place for little ones.

This is an ingenious concept that i think more people with the financial backing and experience should pursue in DFW. They are basically an outsource babysitter.
My 5 yr old loves it for obvious reasons, she gets to play with her friends all she wants. I love it cause theres no guesswork about a babysitter for her. To join you pay one membership fee per family then from there its pay per use.
However… All that said…
DO NOT TAKE YOUR TODDLERS HERE.
Any child over the age of 18 months is thrown into general population. Yes thats right, your diaper wearing non-​verbal, still not quite dextrous one and a half year old will be left to run with excitable, screaming, jumpy, 8 year olds that have a one track mind that doesn’t include consideration. The staff is very nonchalant about parent protests with this arrangement (i have seen it with others and experienced it myself). One gets the feeling that if the state let them… the infants would be tossed out there too.
My toddler did not do well out there (duh) she doesn’t have the crew, doesn’t speak the lingo, and the wardens that are supposed to be watching the babies in there aren’t that attentive. They don’t change diapers when they are supposed to, don’t adhere to any nap schedules, and if your toddler is there late, just pray that they are a night owl, or will find a cool spot on the floor someplace to crash and hopefully wont get trampled by the D-​block veterans.
Basically, this place is great for pre-​and school aged kids with some playground time served under their belts, or babies new to the world or have been around less than 18 months. For those stuck in between, this will be some hard time. My toddler came back home with a tear streaked face, puffy eyes and dog tired both times she was in GP and i think its time i make other arrangements for both girls. Last time they were there i made my 5 yr old memorize the toddler’s schedule so she could remind the caregivers it was time for a diaper change, nap, etc…
Its nuts that i had to do that.
Sad really, cause i really like the concept. For those who’s kids can hang, or have no choice, i’ve used the Coppell, Plano, and Frisco locations. For toddlers, Coppell is Club Fed, more laid back and the caregivers seem nicer, their ratios are better, they might even get to stay in the infant room. Plano is California state pen, the caregivers seem very nonchalant and just do their drills, no mercy here. Frisco location is Tsing Tsing… better get ready cause its a densely populated über noisy joint. Its very busy but staff is plentiful and seems capable. That might not mean much for your toddler though.

We have used this location for a few years. When they first opened, the service was steller. We had a birthday party there in 2013 and the staff and service were excellent. It is very convenient to drop off the kids when the school is closed or our normal child-​care is not available. Few places offer this kind of flexible service.
Within the last year however, we have noticed a few things which concerned us. First, it seems overcrowded. For normal daycare centers, the state limits the number of students per teacher and the number of students allowed in the building at one time. I’m not sure these types of locations fall under the same guidlines as normal daycares. Maybe they are following the rules, but it is hard to tell with so many children running around in one room and the same teachers watching both the children and the front desk.
Secondly, the billing system is not accurate at all. We always pre-​pay because sometimes other family members pick up our kids and we don’t want them stuck with the bill. On multiple occassions we pre-​paid and had a credit balance, but the clerk still made our relatives pay. I had to haggle with them and show our receipts to prove how much had been paid because it didn’t show on our account. Even when I asked for a printed statement, it showed a credit balance which did not match what the clerk was telling me. So unfortunatley, you can not trust them when they tell you how much you owe. Example: The last date my child attended was June 2. On June 10, I asked for a statement. It shows I have a CREDIT balance of $ 14.19 and does not show anything was paid on June 2 when my kids were picked up. Yet my mother-​in-​law gave me a receipt showing she paid $ 30.12 on June 2. So really, I should have a CREDIT balance of $ 44.31. So unless you watch them very closely, there is no way to know if they are charging you accurately.

First time experience, I never five-​star any shops but because this has to do with my 3 boys I will be more than happy to 5 star it! I dropped my 6 year old my 4 year old and my 2 year old, when I came back I went to go see what they were doing and all three of my boys were having fun playing, they had eaten lunch and snacks. The staff is very friendly the babysitters are amazing and loving, and it is a very safe place and secure to put your children. I highly recommend this for couples that want to enjoy their night out or need to run some errands and can’t take their kids with them. it is a bit pricey but so worth it only if you could see all the toys that they have inside anf the way everything is set up it’s amazing.
It was my first time ever putting my kids in a daycare so I was very worried that they would cry and be unhappy but i was so wrong they were actually mad that I came to pick them up they wanted to stay there.

I’m shocked — I dropped our daughter off for the first time. My wife picked up our daughter — no ID was checked and no information was verified. This is NOT a secure place to leave your precious child.

We have used the Plano location a couple of times and the Frisco location once. Generally, the price is very fair considering you always have a baby sitter standing by at a moments notice. The kids like it and have asked to go back so that is a positive. I am a little concern with the ratio of kids to staff, but they seem to manage things well. My kids specifically mention that they like the Plano location better. They said the Frisco location is a little too wild and not as fun.

This is such a great concept: «drop-​in day care». It can be a little pricey, especially with multiple kids, but you can’t beat the ability to be spontaneous (aka «not having a babysitter lined-​up») while knowing your kids are in a safe place they enjoy.
We’ve been taking our girls here for years and it’s always been a good experience.

With 3 locations in the Dallas area, the Plano one just opened less than a year ago and is still relatively unknown. Fantastic facility with great environment for kids to have fun in a clean safe place. The hours are perfect for getting away for a few hours to shop or for those coveted date nights we all crave. The rates are reasonable and cost just a bit more than basic sitters, but the kids get much more fun out of it than staying at home. I highly recommend kiddinaround for a fun safe place to drop off the kids.
