Rainbow Donuts

These are some of the best dang donuts I’ve ever had. Too bad they are right near the office, they contribute to my expanding waistline, but hey everyone loves a good donut! Service is good and the prices are reasonable as well. They also have coffees and juices.

If you like standard kolaches (regular, jalapeño, grande, and croissant) and donuts (all the standards), and at great prices, get it at this old school mom and pop place.
And they have coffee (drip and automatic cappuccino machine). Seems quite popular, since some stuff sold out early even by this time — but the father in the back was making more when I was there.
Cards are accepted, but at these price points, any cash is enough.

Really yummy donuts and great service. The jalapeño sausage kolaches use smoked sausage and are tucked inside super light and fluffy yeast rolls. The donut glaze isn’t overly sweet or heavy — perfect donut enjoyment!

Took my brothers here yesterday and they really liked it! It is walking distance from downtown Plano. They are very friendly and the donuts were delicious. They had a lot of options other than donuts too. I’d get there early BC when we got there at 11:20 many of the donuts were gone.

This is the best donut place. It is about 20 minutes from me but definitely worth the drive. Their donuts are the lightest and most delicious out of any donut place I have been to in Dallas. They always seem to have a lot of variety and are well priced. The staff is also extremely friendly!

The best local donut place. They fill the custard donuts while you wait so they are fresh and not soggy The raspberry jelly filling they custom fill also and it’s so much better than strawberry. Yum. A very varied selection of donuts plus great coffee. Pigs in a blanket are heavenly. Open early 5 am or maybe that’s the place to stop on the way home after a late night out. Love this place.

Delicious donuts and excellent kolaches. The donuts were light and not greasy. I tried choc glazed and regular glazed. The kolaches were huge. We ordered regular and jalapeño. Service was fast and friendly.

A nice surprise! The building itself is quite unassuming. But the staff was helpful, cheerful and completely pleasant. They’ve got a variety of sausage rolls, donuts, even breakfast sandwiches. We’ve had a few glazed donuts and donut holes, which are both excellent. They have been quite generous with their holes, tossing in few extras. So nice.
Looks like a family run business and they’ve been happy to serve us every time we’ve come in. We were especially excited to see cappuccinos advertised on their window. Sadly, their coffee and cappuccinos come from a machine I think I saw at the DMV in 1987. It tasted like coffee with flavored creamer. A little disappointing.
Coffee aside, this place is fantastic! Would get an emphatic 5 stars if their coffee was as good as their donuts… which might be asking a lot… BECAUSE THEIR DONUTS ARE SO GOOD!

They have tasty donuts that aren’t dry. They have a vast variety as long as you come early. They can be a bit pricey though.

Kinda rushed through with my 3 kids. Lady kept putting stuff in my bag that I didn’t want. Ended up spending more than it should have cost. Donuts just average. I won’t be coming back. Receipt not detailed at all…

My usual place was closed today so I gave Rainbow Donuts a try. I was quite pleased.
Pros: GREAT prices, private parking lot, nice variety of «normal» donuts, plenty of breakfast sandwiches/​sausage rolls, and lots of drinks to choose from including flavored coffees. They threw in a couple of extra donut holes too! The donuts/​holes were yummy and fresh although not hot… which is fine with me. The older man that helped me was super nice, even with a language barrier. They do take plastic.
Cons: Awkward to get from parking lot to front door since door faces a very busy street with a narrow sidewalk and there’s no direct from parking lot door. The waiting-​in-​line area is very small… maybe enough room for about 4 – 5 people. The lady (dressed a little crazy but not completely out of the ordinary) was a little on the rude side… both to the nice older man that works there as well as to the customer she was helping. Perhaps it wasn’t quite rudeness but a personality thing. She did smile though.
Overall, I would be happy to visit Rainbow Donuts again. It will not replace my usual place but I was mostly happy with the experience.

They make some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. The glaze on the plain donuts are perfect. They are sweet but not overwhelmingly so like Krispy Kreme. The donut dough is very good consistency.

Just your average tasting donuts. Nothing special but not bad. Had glazed, sprinkles, and chocolate glazed.

This place is by far one of the best donut places in town. Every day these donuts are super fresh and amazingly delicious. The couple who run the shop are always happy and friendly when I walk in and they always work hard to make sure customers leave happy. The hard work these two put into their business and food really shows.
Excellent service plus excellent food keeps me coming back for more.

AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I’ve tried a lot of donut shops (in plano and elsewhere). This place has some of the FRESHEST and BEST TASTING donuts you’ll ever find. Almost always fresh, no matter when you go, even between 9am-​12pm. They’re usually still warm!!! (especially regular glazed and chocolate covered. Other ones are still super fresh though maybe not warm).
They also have great kolaches. I especially like the jalepeno sausage roll. The dough is always fresh and tasty and great sausage flavor.
Really good service too. Its run by a family (im pretty sure). Father, mother, and daughter. All of which are very friendly.
I normally go sat or sun and drive across town just for their donuts cause other donut shops dont come close. This is a REAL GEM. It puts to shame other donut shops who make everything at 4am and stuff is stale by 8am. IF YOU WANT FRESH, WARM, DELICIOUS DONUTS, GO TO RAINBOW DONUTS. (Or dont: more for me: D and less lines).

Had donuts from here on three occasions and each time they tasted better. Can’t wait to try it again the fourth time!

The donuts here are always super fresh, whether you buy early in the morning or later in the day. I don’t come by this part of town too often, but when I do, I always try to stop by here for what might be the best donuts in Plano.
