First time here Has lots of good glass from good price ranges if you know what you want. At first I had a little issue and didn’t feel like I made a good purchase. Management and employees had great customer service and made me feel like I made a great purchase when I left. The only reason I came here was because they had good reviews here. Now I know why. Thank you for putting a smile on my face and making me feel at home. Onelove

I like this place but their return policy is just plain rude. They’re also overly strict about their ID rule to go in the back. You’d think there were actual drugs being sold back there. It is the better head shop in town though.

Been going to Retro for 10+ years. Great selection of glassware, ranging from dirt cheap to first born. Decent selection of the more common vapes, good selection of papers. They card *everyone* that wants to go to the back though, so make sure you bring your ID if you plan to go in the back. I’m very obviously far north of 18, but I still get carded. I haven’t shopped the front half often, so I can’t comment much on that.

I just started coming here, had been going up the street to the Gas Pipe until I learned about this place. My first 2 experiences were good, I purchased a water pipe and some ancillary things and everyone seemed friendly and reasonably helpful. I would probably be giving them 4 stars if their true colors had not come out on my 3rd visit. It kinda makes me never want to come back again. I’m over 50 and on this 3rd visit a tall, slim late 20s girl carded me for my ID. I promptly showed my DL and AFTER presenting it I very simply asked«why do you ask me for it, obviously I am over 18?» Well, you would have thought I insulted this girl and her family. With the attitude of Grendel, she kept barking at me in a gruff way that it was not about the age, but then kept saying I had to be 18 to go in the back room. I told her obviously I am over 18. While she was talking in circles about it not being about age, and didn’t answer my question, she’s approaching screaming and as I’m just deciding to abandon my question to avoid further confrontation or attitude, I’m heading through the door to the back room. There I am met by another person who is coming from the back stock room. He had been friendly on my previous visits. But, this girl is now following me into the back room still babbling about my ID and ostracizing me. He decides to jump in and immediately began attacking me, albeit in a calm voice and withheld manner, telling me if I didn’t like having to show my ID or honor the law I could go elsewhere. At this point I’m thinking this is just like the Adam Sandler movie, Anger Management, where people are telling him CALMDOWN, CALMDOWN, while he is just asking normal questions. I’ve retarded my anger, I’m retarded!, I’m thinking as I smile. I’m not sure why my question instigated this type of behavior. It was never meant to, but it was never answered other than to tell me to go to the legal website and read about it. Fine! I was able to get them to focus on something else and although reserved in answering my questions about the glass pieces for the slide(s) I needed, he returned to being friendly enough that I was able to proceed with my purchases. Why it was such a problem for them to deal with my question still baffles me, but that they would take that sort of attitude with a customer when it was a wholely unprovoked act still just astonishes me. I suggest if you do go there, you don’t ask this question about why they check for IDs if you are visibly older. At least be prepared to have them swarm you like homing missiles and explode all over you. But, I think I would take their advice and just go elsewhere. The Gustapo way in which they run the place and lack of respect for customers is beyond normal or acceptable behavior. After the fact, when looking back at why my simple question could have invoked so much hate, I am imagining that it was the girl who had mistaken my question as a smart aleck remark or attack on her trying to uphold their rules rather than her seeing this as a legitimate and honest question from an equally honest and good-paying customer. But what business doesn’t genuinely want to answer customer questions in a friendly way? I just don’t get it. If they want to honor their law so strictly that it treats customers poorly and they have people tag teaming from the back room, it’s their prerogative. As for me and this house, we will take their advice and go someplace else where we are more generally welcomed and accepted.

very friendly staff, a lot of cool glass. If you want something really unique go to retro. They are a bit pricy, but you cant find cool stuff like that anywhere else! I love the clothes and bags too.

Pretty cool stuff in here. Won’t write a long review. They have a lot of earthy type stuff. Kind of hippy style clothes. I was just in there to get a new tragus ring since I lost the ball on my current one. Spent about $ 10 which is a little pricey but I think this one will stay on longer and be easier to remove. They have a lot of pieces for other piercings. I would definitely recommend!

This place is small and inconspicuous. I like it, but the clothing is extremely overpriced. I saw some cute dresses and bags that I liked, but I refuse to pay what they are asking. They have fun little things like scarves, jewlery, smoke stuff, etc. It was empty of people when we went in there on a Sunday afternoon and it’s very quiet.

I have been going to Retro since I was 16 years old. I used to go buy jewelry there when I thought I was so goth. Now retro has taken a turn for the more hippie side. Lots of hemp clothes, tie dye, and scarves. I can always find something to buy in here. I went here about a week ago and got a pair of gaged earrings and some sunglasses. There is a closed off back room where they sell smoking accessories. Even if you are not a smoker, its fun to go check out the goods. The employees are high and quiet. Just the way I like salespeople to be. They don’t really speak to you unless you speak to them first. Definitely stop in if you are in the area.

I reviewed the other Retro on Greenville Avenue but this one deserves one too. The staff here are super friendly and the location is very convienent right off of I-75 and just before 15th street. The selection of smoking tools is vast. They have cool clothes, posters, good incense and all types of cool stuff! Head shops are one of the only stores I actually like going into and looking around.
