Subway

Chain fast food places generally warrant only three stars if everything goes right. I give this Subway four because of the overall friendliness of the staff. I’ve worked in restaurants, it is hard work and it is easy to get bored or discouraged by its repetitive nature. Fast food workers also are subjected to impatient and rude people who don’t understand the challenges of the person behind the counter. I’ve come to expect a pretty lousy attitude from fast food workers, but not at this Subway. It is a sign of good leadership. The sandwich was exactly what I expected.

Let me just tell you, I love subway. But this was the worst experience I had. As I came through the door, the girls behind the counter were scowling at me. When I approached, she blantly said «what do you want». I ordered my favorite (turkey italiano melt) and she put ham and bacon on it, which I didn’t ask for. Then when I finish up and pay, the cashier didn’t even speak english. When everything was said and done, I looked at the receipt in my car and saw they charged me and extra dollar on my sub for no reason. Never coming back to this subway again. I work in the restaurant business myself so I have sympathy, but this is ridiculous.

This has been a favorite go-​to ever since it opened a few years ago.
What I love about it is how spotlessly clean it is kept. Even with large weekday office workers from the legions of technology campuses, UTD students and residents of tony Canyon Creek, the tables and floors and all surfaces are cleaned inconspicuously.
Lines move very quickly despite the thousands of options available in a great toasted or non-​toasted sandwiches. Ingredients are always fresh and if they will replenish a condiment container completely before giving you the bits at the bottom.
Service is top notch and friendly. I wanted the daily combination special with tuna instead of the delicious roasted chicken and got it by asking the manager. For just $ 6.50 including tax you get a six inch mega sub, your choice of full size chips and an unlimited refill medium drink. The bread was always fantastic with about six options including roast garlic and cheese. NOW they have newer and even better bread!
Another new item that excited me was a line of Fuse tea. Flavored and un-​sweet. I was shocked at how delicious and bracing it was. I must had three full glasses plus «one for the road».
I would normally not give a lunch spot a five star rating if it did not have dedicated wireless. But understand that with limited seating, many guest may have to wait for seat if someone was «hanging out» like the do at Starbucks.
Don’t forget to take the survey on the receipt! That will score you a fresh baked cookie and they are ALL large and delicious.
I would strongly recommend.

Typical Subway. This location seems to get really busy so expect a longer wait than usual.

Love the location and their staff is always friendly. I noted their apples were several days expired, which they corrected.
