OMG… I’m not a person that likes to be bothered by the owners while eating, but this place is an exception. The people are as great as the food. On our first visit, we noticed most customers seemed drawn in by the welcoming attitudes and prompt service. Food served quickly, large portions, and excellent taste. Highly recommend.

Went to lunch here for the first time ! Great food had the spicy chicken which was very moist and tasty. The complimentary freshly made flatbread was addictive and the dipping oil was soo good. The service was outstanding and made us feel at home. Highly recommend it for some great Persian food

I was intrigued by the name Texas Kabob House because I am a Texan and normally stick to my Texas roots without venturing much from my comfort zone. I was very, very surprised by the Persian cuisine. My wife and I had the Kobideh Kabob and Kabob Barg which we both very flavorful and delicious. The waiter was very helpful explaining the menu and authenticity of the cuisine. Outstanding food and service and will definitely be back.

Absolutely loved this place. Warm and inviting atmosphere and even better service. We were greeted by a very sweet and smiling waitress and were seated so that we could watch the game on the TV. We pretty much already knew that getting authentic Kubideh kabobs from here would be a great decision and boy was it! The plate was graciously flanked with a large skewer of freshly grilled meat and perfectly cooked, aromatic rice. The open kitchen is a very nice touch for being able to watch the kabobs getting char-grilled as you wait in anticipation drooling :) The waitress was so sweet that she even let us sample a soup that we were curious about. Highly recommend!!!

There is nothing I loathe more than give bad reviews. I avoid as a plague but sometimes it is almost impossible. And this is the case. I absolutely understand how hard is to have a business and make everybody happy, i weight my personal taste against other people taste or how the food should have been prepared(ie, how is more traditional way to prepare it, since i vist mostly ethnic restaurants). I wish this review was different, but I was very disappointed,… twice. I am a huge fan of Persian food. I have been to all restaurants in the area for years. It is amazing the flavors they«bring to the table». Very simple seasoning, almost like European simplicity as opposed to the complex flavors of Asian food in general. Simple definitely needs to be well executed or it will be very bland. About a year ago I went there with a friend, ordered a kabob kobideh, a yogurt appetizer each of us. First bite on the kobideh we just looked at each other, puzzled. She also knows her food, by the way. No shadow of seasoning. At all. The owner came to the table to ask how the food was and we said(both very embarrassed) that huh… would be great if it has some seasoning on it… turmeric, maybe? He said that’s not the way they make in Iran. Then we go about the yogurt dip, wich was supposed to have mint and we couldn’t taste it at all. He said that was it. Ok, then. I apologize to my friend later because I picked up the newly opened restaurant to try. A week ago I suggested again to another friend, who belong to the same group of foodies. I said the first time was bad but they have nice reviews, maybe things have changed! No, it haven’t. Ordered kobideh and Mast-o-khiar, the yogurt dip with mint, rasins and walnuts. The dip only had maybe a pinch of mint, nothing else. I pointed out to the waiter, who looked puzzled as if we were asking something abnormal, never heard of. But brought to the table a small plate with raisins and walnurs, like diy, if you want. Kobideh had no seasoning at all again. None. I want to point out that there was no salt either, which could have save the dish. None. Salt is crucial in the kitchen, it brings whatever flavor it has to life. Same with the rice, although there was some butter flavor in it. Very large portion, as noted by others. The bread is very fresh, but the«olive oil» they put on the table can be anything but olive oil. Second time apologizing to a friend, good thing it was the last.

Excellent food. We ordered the kobideh and it was done perfect. The directions on Unilocal shows that the restaurant is in the wrong building but we found it quickly once there. Definitely going to be a go to for Persian food for me.

I really really hate to do this. But I feel that I have to let it be known. Now I’ve had other bad experiences with other restaurants but not to a point where I felt so compelled to write a review. Now mind you I USE to have my own restaurants(had them for 12 years), and I know where the restaurant staff and quality of food can be bad and where a customer is unfair. Now I in advance apologize to the owner, since he was my customer too if this offends him. I visited place for the first time because the owner was my customer and was very friendly and jolly. He had invited to come try out his place almost 2 years ago. Saw him on the visit too on Saturday afternoon when I first visited his place, but he had left immediately. Because of him I chose this place over 2 other highly rated places very near to this. When we(my family and I) were placing the order for food the server(Shabnam) was very pushy about what to order and not even let us ask questions about what the other items were. Telling me no for you this is good. Because I was being over whelmed I didn’t notice that most items were beef, and because of my health reasons, beef is restricted. She would not even give us a choice for an appetizer, she said no this is good you will like this, I will get this for you, don’t look at others. We said ok. It was Hummus with 2 green olives on top with 2 naan breads. Now green olives are suppose to be green when they’re fresh. These were dark brown with a hint of green meaning they were spoiled rotten. I wish I had taken pictures so there would be more backing to this. I wish my customers also provided pictures for my feedbacks too. Oh and the naan bread was pre-made, they were heating it up in the tandoor oven right in front of me. Also the server gets really up close physically where I had to back away a few times from her. While ordering entrees she insisted that 2 was enough. And yes she was right, 2 was more then enough, judging how bad the food was. First bite of the beef kefta kabab, there was this stink to it and it was undercooked. Could not figure out weather if it was suppose to taste that way or if the meat had gone bad. Thinking that maybe that’s how their food is kept eating, then she asks if we wanted something to drink, I ask what drinks they have? She said soda, water, beer, whine. I said sorry no alcohol. She said yeah alcohol its haram in Islam and im muslim and its bad. I said ok, I understand its a restaurant business so no need to explain. I asked her if they had a yogurt drink, she told me yes and I asked if it was sweet. She said no its salty and so I refused and asked for water. But she insisted to bring it and when I said if we can sample it first, she refused and said its not a sample and she brought it. As soon as I saw it, I told her sorry no I don’t want it. She forced me to try it out and said I will not charge you for it. I promise you I have tasted expired yogurt and it tasted just like it, mixed with mint leaves and some black dots stuff in it. We just left the glass as is. GETTHIS! Now after trying to eat that food and trying to get used to the flavor, my wife and I decided that this is horrible food, I asked for a check. She brought me a to go box with a HALFEATEN(probably a left over by another customer) Naan bread. And said take this. That was enough. I was about to lose it there but I kept my self composed and told my wife to keep her mouth shut. I paid and got the heck out of there. Now this is TMI and use your imaginations but my wife, my mother in-law and my self had a rough night with stomach issues because of that food. Over all I see good reviews for this place, I hope they are legit. I am hoping that this is just a one off incident and that they really do have higher standards. Note, to owner, I don’t know if the lady is related to you or not but if this lady normally acts the way she did with me, then you need to either re-train her or find a replacement because she will cause a lot of damage to your business.

THISISNOTWHEREGOOGLEGPSTAKESYOU! It is behind the McDonalds on On the Border in the next row of buildings. That being said… WOW!!! Well worth getting lost. This food was amazing. The bread and oil dip they give you was outstanding. That oil dip was the best dip Ive ever had anywhere and in any genre. I wanted to rob the place… but only for the recipe. Lol. I ate the entire free house made flatbread but still managed to destroy my spicy chicken kabob. Wasnt as spicy as I would have liked but I will just ask for extra spicy next time. No biggie. Dont mess up and skip this place. Your loss if so. Definitely coming back next time Im in Plano.

Excellent! Tastes like home cooking. Must order the eggplant appetizer(Kashk o bademjoon) which is not on menu. Spicy chicken kabob and beef kabob barg cooked very well. Must top it off with baklava! The owner is very friendly and thank you Shabnam for great service!!!

Monday afternoon in the office, pushing those papers, and feeling carb-hungry! I feel like devouring a mountain full of carbs every day, but today I felt like I was actually going to allow it. Doing a quick search I stumbled upon Texas Kabob House. Before you allow your mind to wander thinking it’s just another one of those kabob places that may be Greek, Lebanese, or Turkish, just know that this place is an Authentic Persian restaurant! The minute I saw Persian, I grabbed my keys and headed on over! I ordered an array of food including the Koobideh and Chicken kabobs, which both are served on a bed of saffron rice, roasted tomatoes, and a fresh lime to squeeze. For the real authentic Persian foodies out there, you’ll want to grab a side of the yogurt and some extra limes to eat with your meal(just mix it on up in there with the meat and rice– you can thank me later). I also asked for a side of tahdig, which is the crisp rice that’s created from the bottom of the rice pot. It’s lightly toasted, a bit smooth from the oil infused in it, and perfect as a little carby treat. Everything super delish, portions big, and flavors that are authentic! I definitely plan to come back to get my Persian grub on!

I visited this place for the first time today for lunch, and I adore it! From the moment I walked in, I felt a very warm welcome. I’m Persian myself and have been to a lot of Iranian restaurants; this is probably my favorite in terms of atmosphere. The woman who took my order was very polite and helpful with the menu, and the man working the kitchen had a smile on his face the whole time he was cooking. The restaurant is set up in a way that allows you to somewhat see where they make the breads and grill the meats. My dad compared it to some of the kabob houses he frequented when he lived in Iran many years ago. I love the fact that all of the employees say hello and goodbye to everyone who comes in and out of the restaurant; everyone is family here. In terms of food, we ordered the SABZIPLATTER to start with. Many up-scale Iranian restaurants will bring this out as a starter for free(it’s similar to chips and salsa at a tex-mex restaurant or bread and butter before a meal). For lunch time, this was a 4 dollar cost. I believe the bread is made fresh in-house-YUMMY! For my entrée, the waitress recommended the CHICKENKABOB. I normally order the soltani(includes kabob barg & kabob koobideh) when I go to Iranian restaurants, but I’m really glad I followed her suggestion. My dad ordered the SHISHKABOB, but my chicken kabob was definitely more flavorful and so so tender! My only complaint from my meal was that the rice was a little bit dry. Overall a GREAT experience-I will definitely be coming back here again! Their lunch special prices are definitely hard to beat for this type of food!

Getting straight to the point no BS Been wanting to come back and try more stuff. This time I got me a kabob plate with extra skewer of SPICYCHICKEN! Oh boy was that chicken cooked perfectly! Great marinate! Tender and VERYJUICY with just the right amount of heat! The wifey got a plate of steak skewer which was good as well!(so at this point we have tried everything on the menu) Good job Max! Anyone who can make a chicken breast tastes this good deserves a thumbs up and an extra star!

The owner is nice and extremely friendly. I’ve been here a few times and now days when I walk in they greet me as if I am family. The kibosh is great and the chicken kabob is even better. The chicken kabob portion is real big. I usually end up taking half home. My favorite part is the bread. Fresh bread baked and its a piece of heaven. Will keep on going back.

I decided to try this place out ! I was craving Persian food, or kabobs rather ! The place is a little hidden but it’s close to world market ! By Preston and 121! The lady who greeted me was so friendly, I ordered to go ! I told her I was wanting kabob and she made a great suggestion of spicy chicken and beef ! While I waited she offered me a drink and some juice for my little one ! Just a pleasant, laid back environment! They do have a bar so I’m sure it gets pretty lively in the evenings/weekends ! I loved my food so I’m coming back

The owner is kind and friendly! The homemade bread is amazing. The Koobideh is mediocre at best and there is no comparison to better Persian restaurants in Dallas. The chicken kabob is hit and miss. The portion size is small and for the price you get a much better deal at other places. The stews taste okay but the portion size is small for what you pay for. We have been here a few times and during all of our visits they have made«mistakes» on our bill adding foods that we did not order. We discussed this with a few friends and they have the same experience, be careful and double check your bill. The wait staff is not that friendly and did not give us the best service.
