Bad service or no service. Dark. Old. Dank. Our room was unattended to, and the desk clerk tried to put it off on us, saying(incorrectly(that we had left the ‘do not disturb’ sign on all day. They also refused to bring up the coffee supplies that we needed the next morning — the supplies that would have been there if they had cleaned the room.

Wifi didn’t work. Shower was turned off(I didn’t even know that was possible!) half the time. Room phones didn’t work. Room keys stopped working every day, so we had to go to the front desk every day and get new ones. There’s one guy working the entire hotel and he wasn’t there half the time, so every time we needed ANYTHING we had to wait at the front desk for half an hour. That one guy seemed nice, but completely incompetent and lazy and not willing to do anything except blame management. I’d save your money and go to the Super 8 motel up the street. They seemed way nicer when I had to trek over there to buy detergent because, of course, the detergent machine in the laundry room at our hotel was broken.

This has gone Down hill a little since the change In ownership. We did get out same little presentation room, The Chinaberry room. A person staying at the hotel said there are some windows in hotel rooms that are broken.

DON’T STAYHERE!!! Terrible staff(not helpful, poor communication and very few), crappy physical hotel, restaurant/bar are closed and no longer affiliated with Southfork Ranch.

Smells bad, no staff, hot water was turned off twice. The bar and restaurant are closed, the carpet smells hideous, when we were there there was only 1 person manning the entire hotel. the shower leaked, toilet barely flushes and there are obvious signs of water leaks in the ceiling(although there was no water there anymore). Stay away from this place, I received no warning that there were issues before I checked in, there is a motel 6 just up the street and it HAS to be better.

Southfork Hotel is a good hotel. They allow pets, which was exactly what we needed. The hotel room was nice, but nothing extra special. It does seem outdated. It was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast buffet was nothing special, you could pay extra and get an even better variety. It seemed like all the ice machines were broken.

The staff at the front desk were amazing. Shosashona(might not have that spelled right) has been very helpful and courteous. She deserves a raise.

I literally just got here 30 min ago. The staff has a bad attitude. I like to deal only with cash, but this place only takes credit cards for the deposit. There is no microwave in the room, but they did say that I could rent a microwave for an extra 10 $ a night. And we brought a game console to hook up to the TV here, but this is literally the oldest TV I have seen in probably 9 years. The only way to hook something into this TV is by a cable input. Also the mini fridge was on a hot setting when we came into the room. The pluses so far is that there is wi-fi. And the room looks ok though smaller than the cheaper quality inn room I stayed in last week. I never watched Dallas, maybe it would appeal more to a fan of that show. This hotel needs to update or die. I suspect the management is old and doesn’t care about ever improving this dated hotel.

I was going to give this high ratings, as the people were really awesome and everything was nice, albeit a bit dated. However, on the morning of our check out, our keys quit working while we were at breakfast — well before the noon checkout time. Unfortunately we didn’t notice until we got locked outside in the back, and had to walk all the way around the building to get back in. They grudgingly reactivated one key for the room, but refused to reactivate the outside doors or the second key. This made leaving very inconvenient. Due to this problem, I ended up leaving a very special pillow behind. The pillow has since vanished — and the people on the phone were VERY rude to me about it. A wonderful vacation has been ruined by the ineptness and insensitivity of these people. I cannot recommend this place.

Do not stay here. You can get the equivalent service and quality at a sketchy no-tell motel. This place might have had its shining moment once before but it’s definitely lost its luster. The customer service is horrible, everything is very aged, and they are not accommodating whatsoever. Their ballrooms are inadequate at best and do not offer much. Honestly when I pulled up I thought I was at Section 8 housing.

Being a huge fan of the show Dallas we had to stay here! It was so nice that they had a shuttle that would drive you to and from the Southfork house. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had an a hotel. Most of the food was set up in a buffet style and was replenished frequently. At the end there was a lady making fresh omelets and there were a lot of toppings you could have added into it. Also there was a waffle maker in the shape of Texas! Side note, the apple juice was amazing. The lobby sitting area was very nice as was the bar which was called the Cattlemen’s Club, a nice nod to the show. Our room was nice and clean. I definitely would stay here again!

I booked this reservation on Priceline and what a mistake that was. This hotel was supposed to be a 3 star hotel but it was an old stinky dump. There is nothing nice about the place, it’s old, outdated and smells. It is a very depressing place and to add insult to injury even overcharged me for a soft drink. The only redeeming quality is that the reception person was friendly.

Ok, the only thing saving this hotel from a 1 star is the front desk agent. We go to check in, and get charged a pet fee for a service animal. Ok whatever, get to the hallway my husband starts choking on whatever old funky smell is radiating from the dirty ass carpet. Walk in the room and I finally figured out what killed Larry Hagman, and I think he died in that room. The carpet was dank, with a bed that is 20 years past its prime, and it smelled of regretful sex and dog piss. The bathroom door didn’t close all the way, and there was a quarter inch gap between the room door and the frame. So depressed and ready to find some crack to make this experience less tragic, we called the front desk and asked to be moved rooms. We were then moved across the hall, next the the cigarette butts on the ground. The room didn’t smell of dog piss and shameful sex, but it is just as depressing. I’m only hoping and praying to G-d that I don’t wake up with bed bugs treating us as an all you can eat buffet. Tried to use the free wifi and it didn’t work. Called the office on the phone that Alexander Gram Bell used to call Watson. She had to reset it. The 24 hour a day Dallas channel doesn’t work on our 90’s throw back RCA18 inch TV, and there is a hole in the wall under the desk that I swear has a spy cam in it. I swear to everything Priceline will be hearing about this 3 star hotel if I survive a night in this place Save your money and go to the Motel 6 or Super 8 down the road. And if you Priceline, spend the extra 5 bucks for the trip insurance… If we had, we’d be at the LaQuinta right now. Post Hell Night Update: The pillows were awful, and after reading past reviews about bugs I jumped every time I felt my skin crawl. The bed springs on the cardboard box of a mattress made me stiff I I could be when we woke up. Got up at 7am and checked out the«breakfast» The restaurant smelled bad. The confidential breakfast consisted of Stale bread behind glass, watered down juice, God knows how old yogurts in bowls where everyone could sneeze on them and melon that anyone could sneeze on them. For 6 bucks more you could get something hot like: Dried out oatmeal, microwaved home fries, bacon, sausage links and waffles. We choose to go to Denny’s. After breakfast we came back to our room and tried to lay back down for a bit. We were woken up by the sounds of housekeeping thumping against our door at 8:30 am. So we decided to just get going and get the hell out of Southfork. Couldn’t take a shower because the hot water had a sweet rusty smell. I went to the front desk to check out and ask for the main office number, to complain about everything esp the fact that we were forced to pay a pet fee for a service animal. Birdie(I believe her name was) saw the ID for my animal and took that charge off(Southforks one saving grace) All and all, I will never stay at this hotel again. It was a sameful 3 star experience, it should be a 1 star rating.

Don’t bother. Our large family group arranged for two vans to transport us to the Plano balloon festival. Only one van came, transported the first group, and the van didn’t return until 1.5 hours later because it was sent to pick up another group. Arrangements were made for a pickup point. The van driver never came because he couldn’t get through traffic. We were told we were«on our own.» My son made it through and was able to pick some up. We were dropped in the grease at 9 in the evening, sitting on the curb in a dark location!

Victim of the priceline scam that lists this as a 3 star hotel. Maybe a 1.5 star at best but not worth the $ 75 at all. Entire place is old and has a musty smell like a nursing home. Our room was dirty, had burned out light bulbs and we discovered an open condom in the hotel directory book, totally gross. Our room never got cleaned and we had to get more towels from the front desk. The free breakfast was continental only and had the other stuff for a $ 5 dollar charge. The only plus this hotel has is that it is near the 75. But then you can hear it all night so you will know it’s there. Skip this place.

Originally we came in our room and it smelled like urine and it had hair in the toilet. So we switched rooms the new room was piss free but the water came out brown for a few seconds. There were holes in the fitted sheets. I’m here right now angry with the person that booked us here. Please do yourself a favor and get the hell up out of here. PS. You are in the ghetto. Why else would there be a police officer on your floor.

At least Digger Barnes, the janitor, will sign autographs. Grimm, as in Haunted Forest, grimm. $ 100 online rate did not include the real breakfast… fruit and yogurt it had to be. One needs to make a special effort to find al dente’ cantelope AND include rind with almost every chunk.

I just don’t get it. For a group that owns several hotels and the large Southfork ranch event center, there’s no excuse for having such an outdated hotel. The staff were very nice but the place really needs a complete makeover. The entire place has a dark and dingy feel to it. The carpets are all dark and look to be several decades old, there is very poor lighting in the halls and rooms. The bed was comfortable but the rest of the furnishings in the rooms were just poorly though out and are in need of replacement. All in all this is essentially the quality you get at one of the low end roadside motels.
