The Transmission Shop

Absolutely disgusted at this place, had transmission rebuilt not once… but twice since it wasn’t done right the first time and after the second time there have been many issues due to shoddy work. After 2^nd rebuild they didn’t reconnect the starter properly, causing my car to not run, didn’t reconnect cruise control, and now my mechanic has found that the torque converter bolts were only hand tight! They took me for $ 4100 and delivered crap! I’m soooo mad!

Thanksgiving… a time to reflect on our life and give thanks to God and to those who have helped us along in life. I would like to say Thank You to Aaron and his staff for replacing the clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing and other accessories in my 2007 Nissan 350Z Touring Roadster earlier this year. They also removed the scoring from the flywheel surface and the car runs fine. Aaron is very courteous, professional and customer-​service oriented. Highly recommended. I brought my car (2008 Lincoln MKX) in with a severe jerking from the transmission. I paid The Transmission Shop over 2800.00 to have it rebuilt. Worked fine for a week and the harsh shifting returned. I brought it back in and they replaced a leaky seal. Another week and again harsh shifting and I brought it in again. They worked on it again and returned it to me. I drove it for a week and my trouble lights came on. I took it to a shop who said there were transmission codes causing the check engine light. I returned it again and when I picked it up it shifted smoothly for about a week and the harsh shifting returned (although not as bad as before, it still had jerky shifting issues). I took the vehicle back in to be told it was shifting fine for them. I picked it up and had harsh shifting after two blocks. All lin all I took my vehicle to them five times. each time it was in the shop for a week. I understand they need to road test a vehicle; however two times I took it in with a full tank of fuel only to be returned empty. They warranty their work, but after five returns and not having my vehicle repaired I simply could not return to them. I had two choices. Sell the car at a loss as no one wants one with a jerking transmission or take it to another shop and pay again ti have it fixed. Unfortunately, I had to sell it and am out a lot of money.

Pros: Free Towing, Quick turn around time 3 – 4 days on a transmission rebuild, 3 year warranty, Friendly customer service from Aaron Leff at the Plano Location
Cons: Price was one of the highest I was quoted from other transmission shops, If you don’t have a lot of money I would prob suggest searching for a different shop.
Was expecting my rebuild to cost $ 900-​$ 1250 but it cost me $ 1500 instead

I broke down in Oklahoma. I had the wife look up good rated transmission shops on 75. Had my f150 towed to this location. It was a Sunday so Eric called me Monday morning and I picked it up Thursday morning. Besides paying a good chunk of money it was a good deal.

Had them rebuild a transmission on an Acura 3.2 cl type-​s. Almost a year ago. I’m sure it was a pain but they did it within 2 days. Very informing on everything that needed to be done, because the factory didn’t do it right! Thanks guys!

Had them replace the clutch on my neon a little over a month ago and thought I would leave a review for them.
First of all, they were the only shop locally that was willing to install the clutch that I had already bought. Every other shop refused to install it because I didn’t buy it through them and pay their marked up price for the clutch. I called The Transmission Shop and he was more than happy to install it for me. The price was very reasonable for a fwd car, $ 450 which is half of what every other shop quoted me.
Dropped it off at 8am and the car was ready to go by 5pm, that’s some fast work. I had them do the rear main seal as well, and they were very honest and up front about any extra charges. I highly recommend this shop if you need any transmission work, couldn’t be more pleased with their work. I’ve got 3k miles on the clutch so far and everything is working perfect.

Friendly staff, and about $ 500 cheaper than the dealership.
