Need activities for kids during the summer? Want to learn a new hobby? You name it they’ve got it!

A great bargain offered by the city. This is my go-​to place for swimming laps as the nearest rec center to my house doesn’t have a pool… yet. Lots and lots of activity going on here all day every day. Convenient hours for seasoned citizens and the working crowd as well. I posted photos of a recent table tennis event held in 2015. Fun activities for kids all year round. The pumpkin decorating contest is adds value to using the Plano Park & Recreation centers as a fitness and family activity center. Hah! These reviews show that people will complain about anything from their own horrible parking habits to the fact that their son cannot swim by a second lesson! Staff could smile more, but they don’t have to. They are friendly enough and work a lot. The equipment is awesome. Maybe I failed to mention that this place is $ 15 a month! No contracts! What are you complaining for?! If you knock your bumper off parking, go get it fixed. Get driving lessons too. If you don’t like the price of swimming lessons, teach your kid! It’s fun! Come on, $ 15 a month? Nothing to complain about.

This is a great facility. Friendly staff, very clean, a lot of treadmills and weight equipment. I like their classes for adults and kids. For kids, they have a lot of piano classes, just wish it was easier to sign up for the same teacher course to course. However, those classes (and swimming) are so popular that you have to sign up as soon as registration opens up. I like the spin class and Zumba, both are fun. The outdoor pools in the summer are a blast for the kids, and they even have a concession stand.

Be careful the rebar posts were sticking out the top of the parking stop. The front bumper of my car got fully damaged by the rebar when I was back out.

Beautiful facility however, beware of lack of security! Took my Grandchild to splash pad and had our sandals stolen. Also caught a 15 year old trying to steal our beach bag. If you go be sure to go to main entrance get a lock and lock up EVERYTHING in locker room before going out.

Great place to hang out and relax. Could use a few more chairs. Overall, it was great. The kids had fun, the adults were able to relax and enjoy the day. Wish there was music playing but that was not a deal breaker.
We will definitely be back. Great benefit of being a member of the rec center.

The people who work here are not friendly and need to learn how to smile. I don’t think its a great environment for children and parents. They constantly enforce their rules and even create new rules based on the situation, most of it seems just to hassle the customers who come here to work out or use the pool.

I did not renew my family membership. This is a nice facility. But the only part I used was the lap pool. Very hard to find lanes setup for lap swimming. On the Web site it says there would always be 2 dedicated. But that is not always true. There have been times they will close one of the lanes for private lessons. And then one lane will be closed for physical therapy sessions. I have had to question the head guard at least once ever couple of weeks why there are not two open lap lanes. Most were none too happy to relinquish the lane. I only found one that understood my plight. Then there are times they open the water slide, which closes the lap lanes. Or they run swim lessons which consume all the other lanes. And team swims and master swims. I found I was waiting for lanes more than I was swimming at times.
There were a couple of swim instructors that kind of knew me and if their classes were empty, they would allow me to use the lane until the next class time. That was the only asking grace that kept me a second year. I was there 7 days a week, one hour every day. So probably a consumer that was too consistent and did not fit their statistics.

I bring my baby here to swim. We love the staff and the facility. It is a great place for families. Wet always look forward to going

Fantastic facilities, fantastic personnel, fantastic price…
These facilities are first class, the personnel they hire are always friendly and helpful, and the price for a year is the monthly price at some other similar facilities close by.
Was thinking today how fortunate we are to have access to this resource. Great job Plano! Thank you.

Thanks for having a safe and awesome Halloween Bash for the kids. The entire staff did an excellent job with the different play stations. We will definitely return next year!

Really great place to have a membership from especially if you live in Plano. It’s cheap and you get more from the price you paid for. Love it here.

$ 130 a year. What a deal.
Great free weight and weight machine area.
Great cardio machine area and indoor track.
Great pool for laps and fun. Indoor and outdoor.
A ton of other stuff.
Can get a little crowded but that is expected for $ 130 a year.

It’s hard to believe this place is a public rec center, it’s as nice and fancy as Lifetime!
Love the amenities, the equipment is great, the pools and basketball courts are fantastic.
This place can get really crowded with all the middle school kids coming in after school, but it’s an overall great experience that’s well worth the money.
You won’t find a better value for a fitness membership in Plano!

Great swim lessons for my 21 month old. He loves it! The facility is clean and the teachers are very good with the little ones. I love the pools they have outside as well. Lots of water activities for the kiddos. They can get busy during the summer months so do not go for a relaxing day at the pool.

Great pool! Fun slides for older kids (48″) and adults. Cool little spray park for the babies/​toddlers. Clean bathrooms! Plenty of lifeguards. Wish I found this place in the beginning of summer.

You seriously can’t beat a $ 130 annual fee to City of Plano recreation centers. This facility is extremely clean, spacious, and pretty much is equivalent to a 24 Hours Super Sport (don’t even get me started on their outdated «Sport» facilities). I’ve been coming here mainly to swim and have been so pleased.
The pool gets crowded in the morning with swim teams, so the best time to go is in the evenings actually. But regardless, there are always designated lap lanes open. I’ve been told that the pool is a saltwater pool (yay for less chemicals). The water is always clean, never murky (like other gyms I’ve been to) and never is there a funky taste/​smell.
The showers in the locker room are spacious and even have a double curtain so that you can put your belongings on one side and shower on the other. Only annoying thing is that the shower heads are pretty low – I’m 5’6″ and the shower head starts around the middle of my face, which means I have to hunch/​squat to get water on the top of my head.
There’s also an indoor running track, which is nice to have, especially for people (like me) who get bored running on the treadmill.
