This is a terrific store. The store manager is dedicated and will do everything possible to make your shopping trip flawless. It is a «mid-size» store, so no self-check lanes, but the registers are always well staffed.

I started working here in the summer 2014. There were only two department managers from the time I started till the time I left. the first one I got along with just fine but the second one and I didn’t get along very well at all. we got off to a bad start and it just got worse from there. At one point he actually got mad because I told him I didn’t go to church after he asked me. You cannot do that as a manager. What followed after his discovery of my not attending church was a slow process of eliminating my hours and days. From there I decided I needed to do something so I went to the store manager. When I sat down in his office the first thing I asked him was is this conversation confidential? He assured me that it was so I proceeded to ask him to be transferred to another department because I wasn’t getting along with my current department manager. He thought about it and said that was fine and as I turned to walk out the door he says — I’ll be sure to tell your current department manager what you said about him. He lied right to my face about it being confidential and knew that I was going to have to deal with the current department manager who already didn’t like me until the transfer went through. The store managers name is Billy Moore he didn’t protect my information so I will spare none of his now… A couple of months later I got the transfer but there weren’t enough days in the new department to compensate for the old one so I worked in both. The new department made it clear that I wasn’t welcome, I tried my best there but it was never enough. Then one day the new department put me on the schedule without telling me. The next day I came into work the store manager literally got up on the shelves of the aisles and started yelling at me. I told him I didn’t know what was going on and that I tried to call him back the day before. It didn’t matter what I said they had it out for me. From there I lost the job in the new department or rather it became clear that it was never available. On top of all that were the reasons surfacing as to why you keep information confidential. To Protect your employees! This store manager even would yell and curse at the employees using the«F» word at me. He is of very low character and doesn’t need to be in that position anymore. To respond to Tim’s review which was clearly a response to mine… I was referring to the«workers experience» not the«consumers experience»…

Store is well lit, organized, but what I do not like is that they do not have self check-out lanes. That is one of my peeves with this place. And especially when you’re in a hurry this is not something that you want to be without.

Horrible service. Some employees will just ignore you when you ask for help. Customer service is awful, and opens at 8. Everything here is over-prices as well. Avoid if you can.

Tom Thumb has never been my favorite grocery store. Yesterday, I was reminded why. I stopped here for a few items for dinner because it was close to another place I was running an errand. I did kick myself as I passed a Kroger on the way home. There were about 5 corncobs available for purchase here. One was moldy and two were so unready for picking there was no corn grown on the husk. No green tomatoes. I have come to expect green tomatoes since they are standard fare at Kroger’s. They did have a good selection of ripe avocados, see, I can say something nice about Tom Thumb. And the cashier at checkout, Doris, was quite pleasant. Next time I’ll drive farther to stop at Kroger’s on the way home.

Very disappointed with the deli. I asked for two different sandwiches and they didn’t have either bread do I had to settle for a tortilla wrap and then they didn’t have crispy chicken either only grilled. I work next door so there’s not much I can go get to eat so I had to settle with Tom Thumb deli and count get what I wanted because they lie and promote food that they did not have. I was also on my lunch break and waited for 7 min at the deli and no one helped me so then I had to call customer service just to get someone to come take my order. And then not get what I wanted. I won’t be going back.

Does the job needed. Prices here are a bit more than some of the other chains, but I believe the quality of the items and location both justify the expense. When busy, parking can be a small hike.

You know your getting old & cranky when you’re writing bad reviews about a grocery store, but whatever… Here goes! Their deli meat selection is the puniest I’ve seen. We got bad lunch meat there twice.(Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!) we actually went back after the first time we got bad meat & it was bad again. Then…the produce stinks! For simplicity sake I grabbed a bag of oranges that it looked like they assembled. All of them were bad! I think they hoped to get rid of the bad ones– so they put them together so they could bring out the good ones. Anyways, Kroger down the street has been a much better option for us & I think we will stick to it from now on. Rant over!

This was my main stop to get Tom Thumb fuel however I did occasionally go into the grocery store. But – NOMORE. Tom Thumb claims they give you a discount on fuel if you accumulate points by making Tom Thumb purchases. Thus used to equate to about 10 cents a gallon off of the prices which was always competitive with other stations in the area. Then some marketing genius decided to give a discount only if you paid cash and if credit, the price is a way lot more than the competitors. Then what is really sad is the effort Tom Thumb and their owner(Safeway) attempted to «spin» this series of events by saying that were offering a discount and that was good for the customers. «Bologna» raising prices for the customers is not good business, so Tom Thumb I have headed for Kroger where I still get a true discount. «Spinning» is what Washington does, so why would a grocery store or chain stoop to that level. You folks need to get back to selling groceries(and gasoline) and get out of politics. Plain and simple.

I have been to many Tom Thumb stores, many of them seem a bit stand offish. This one though. So helpful. Great food from the bakery and the deli. And the staff are so friendly and will truly make you feel welcome. Check them out if you are looking to do Tom Thumb. Also the gas station personnel are great as well. Great prices.

This is my favorite Tom Thumb by far. – Very close to my house(less than 5 minutes drive) – Open 24-hours – Tom Thumb gas station is located in the same parking lot(which is also available 24-hours if you pay with credit card) – 3 cents discount on gas if you use your Tom Thumb card Besides the convenience, the workers at this Tom Thumb are always helpful and friendly. I am always greeted with a friendly smile and they go out of their way to help you. The selection isn’t as great as Whole Food or Central Market, but the prices are low and Tom Thumb usually has a lot of sales. The meat selection is great. Great NY strips, ribeyes, etc… If you ask, they can even get you a whole leg of lamb and a bone-in-prime rib. I used to visit the Tom Thumb on Park/Preston, but they have the worst service. So now I strictly stick to this location.
