This is one of my favorite places. Really great service and the food is top notch. The sushi was really fresh, and the noodles are great too! The hibachi steak bowls are my kids’ fave. Great selection of Asian beer and Sake too. Nice atmosphere. Just a great place!

We have been here several times and they never fail to serve good food. We have learned to ask what is special tonight and we have been rewarded with some spectacular sushi treats. The staff is great, we always have a good meal and experience.

Decent portion but super thin veg and gritty oily pre made tempura is a sign that they can’t get the most basic Japanese food right. Pass…

This place is so nice and easy to go to. Staff is always friendly. The food is fresh and yummy. I wish they had a few new sushi options from time to time, but for the price, the quality is excellent.

The food was very fresh and testy, For a sushi restaurant in Texas The only thing that’s bothering me is that it took them almost an hour to deliver the food when they are only 2 miles away from my house

Great quality in the two rolls we ordered! My wife plays it safe and always gets rolls that are fried, and it tasted perfect! Next time I’ll go rogue and check out the sushi, but this was just what we needed before our movie.

Love this place! My boyfriend and I discovered one night before our massage next door. We have been back twice. Delicious! I got the hibachi chicken plate and he got the bento box. So much food for such a good price.

This used to be one of my favorites, but the last two times have been awful. I am not sure if they changed ownership but the service is pathetic to say the least. The food quality has gone down… What a pity !!!

I was in the area for the weekend with Hubby, checking out what is soon to be our new digs, and we decided we need to check out what the Dallas area had to offer in sushi. Tomoya was close to where we were staying and had good reviews, so off we went for dinner on a Wednesday night. The place is small, but nicely decorated and clean. There were only 2 – 3 other couples when we arrived, so we were seated right away and our waitress came to take drinks orders immediately. For dinner, we tried: –Hamachi Sashimi-very fresh and melt in your mouth. Relatively thin cuts, which I liked. –Tuna Tataki-beautiful, fresh tuna! Just gorgeous and tasty. Yum! –Caterpiller Roll-also very fresh and tasty. The avocado was a thin layer on top, so didn’t overwhelm the other ingredients, although it fell off, so maybe could have used a layer of wasabi to help it stick. All in all, we were very happy with the quality of sushi here and would definitely return.

Ordered delivery tonight, hibachi chicken for both of us and very impressed. I don’t particularly care for the«show» that is put on at a Japanese Hibachi grill, just enjoy the freshly grilled protein and vegetables. My husband and I were shocked about how fresh the food is for hibachi delivery. Didn’t even know it existed! The salad with Ginger dressing is perfectly mixed with fresh greens and a delicate and not over-powering fresh ginger dressing. For those that want the stronger ginger flavor, they do add extra ginger flakes on the side. The delivery man even gave me a coupon for 10% off when we actually get a chance to eat at their restaurant. Great food and great service!

One of the absolute worst dining experiences ever!!! Based off the Unilocal reviews I thought we were safe. My friend and I originally were going to go to Studio Movie Grill but the movie was sold out. Using my handy Unilocal tool, I saw this place was RIGHTNEXTTOIT, so we were like«Why not?» THISISNOT A HIBACHIRESTAURANTEVENTHOUGHITSAYSITONTHESIGN. It’s a sit down restaurant and a regular kitchen. There was an extremely large party taking up the middle section of the restaurant, and we were seated in the back, in a cozy booth. We ordered a couple of cocktails and some soft drinks. And then we waited. And waited. Twenty minutes past and we had to flag down another waitress. Then we got our drinks. We placed an order for a sampler of sushi and I ordered the salmon and my friend ordered the steak and chicken. This isn’t traditional hibachi; there are no shows to be had here. Everything is cooked in a kitchen and brought to you, which is fine if you don’t care about the show. Apparently the original concept of this restaurant was that it was called Tomoyo Fast; you could quickly get hibachi or sushi. Those days are long gone. Our sampler(Red carpet roll they call it) came out with our salads and miso soup(I could have lived without both those, as neither had any real flavor). The sampler tasted fine, neither fantastic sushi nor bad. Average sushi, but nice big rolls! Was 12.99. And then everything went downhill. My salmon(13.50)was brought out after I reminded them we ordered(we had eaten the sushi, drank all our cocktail and had been waiting about 20 minutes) and then we waited. I noticed it was completely dry; normally hibachi salmon has a sauce and this had nothing. The fried rice, which is a buck more, had huge portions that weren’t «fried», so you could see huge clumps of white rice. My friend’s order had gotten lost, so we had to wait 35 minutes on the refire as the huge party had them too booked apparently. The manager, a nice older lady, came over to apologize and encouraged me to eat my food. I explained I wasn’t going to eat until my friend got her food, and that we’d been waiting 35 minutes already and my food was cold. She offered to put it under the lamp until my friend’s food was done. My friend’s food(and mine) arrived five minutes later. My poor salmon was ice cold, but at this point, I was over it. The manager asked if everything was ok and I told her that I wasn’t pleased. She just said sorry. In the end we spent over two hours in this place for subpar food(my cold salmon wasn’t awesome) and never once got a refill. While they did apologize nothing was comped, nothing discounted. Nothing was done to make it right. Won’t be back. Looking through the reviews I can see now this is a common thing.

YES. Yes, the food is YUMMY. Yes, I will be back. Yes, you should go I ordered hibachi steak & chicken with fried rice. It came with a side salad, 2 potstickers and veggies. I also ordered«yummy crunch». They use skinless chicken breast. If they didn’t, it would be a deal breaker. It was of good quality and lean. The steak was also of good quality, I’m guessing sirloin by the taste & texture. Fattier than I like, but such is sirloin. I’ll try the shrimp next time. It was all excellent. The little«yummy crunch» things were super tasty! It’s a shrimp, cream cheese, green onion & carrot all wrapped in a wonton and fried. Silly name, tasty treat. Order it anyway. I only nibbled the potsticker. I don’t normally eat them simply because I like super clean meat. These were made of ground pork. It had nice flavor. If you aren’t picky about ground pork, then you’ll probably like them. I didn’t try any sushi, but I will next time as well. They had a nice selection and It looked good. Hopefully they offer rice paper wraps in lieu of seaweed…

Below-average quality sushi. The color of the salmon nigiri made me a little nervous to try it because it looked so old. I can barely taste the yellowtail nigiri. The white tuna roll was okay– nothing special. I honestly think Kroger serves better sushi than they do. I didn’t get a chance to try their hibachi food or specialty rolls so I don’t know if my 2 stars is too harsh. I ordered online through the Eat24 app which was nice and convenient. But when I got there around 5:30, I guess they were still opening, the service was a little off. I was greeted after a couple minutes of standing in front of the register and when they handed me the order, they didn’t ask me if I needed anything else or give me a receipt. Don’t get me wrong, the chef and the waitress were sweet and courteous but they just seemed disorganized. The décor is cute, laid back, and simple. It’s not like an upscale sushi restaurant but the location of it is nice because it’s next to a Studio Movie Grill(good for date night?). Overall, I wouldn’t come back.

I was craving uni after work so I called 5 sushi restaurants nearby. They had it so I thought I’d give it a shot. «Ryan» the sushi chef(possibly owner) was very friendly and attentive. May, my waitress, was very sweet and on her game as well. They just got in a shipment of sushi today so I opted for the uni(sea urchin), aji(Spanish mackerel), and madai(red snapper). They all were so delicious– it was like a party in my mouth! My friend ordered the spider roll(soft shell crab) — it was actually tempura battered to seal in the flavor and less greasy than the way other restaurants typically prepare it. It was the best I’ve tried in a while. They even put the excess on the side. Deg a good bang for your buck. I think I may have to add this place to my top 5 local fav’s. Btw happy hour is 5 to close Mon — Fri. $ 2 sake and $ 3 wells. Beer and wine is 10% off fr 5−7pm. Yea that part is a little odd but it’s a discount folks!

I have ordered delivery from this place at least 8 times, and each meal I’ve had is consistent. I always get the salad roll, miso soup, cucumber rolls, and hibachi veggie udon. the salad roll is probably my favorite thing at this fine restaurant. it’s an avocado roll wrapped in this delicious green… thing, and then topped with their ginger salad. I highly recommend getting this as part of your meal. The miso soup is cheap and pretty good in my opinion. Overall, good quality food for a good price(:

If you want a quick Japanese meal, Tomoya is your place. My chicken bento box came out in just a few minutes and I was packing down the food because I was hungry! Surprisingly, the food was pretty delicious even with the teriyaki sauce being too sweet. For about $ 11(incl tax) you get a good amount of food. I went home with a small box of leftovers as did most of the people in my party.

Tucked in the corner, it’s a delicious find in my book. Quick service, nice menu, and great food. We tried quite a variety: rolls, specialty rolls, bento box, and yakisoba. Sushi: good. Nothing fantastic, but for the price, it’s definitely great. The Ahi Tuna Tower was good too. We prefer the one at Densetsu, but this one is a close second for us. We prefer it a bit spicier. Good size. 3⁄5 Bento: huge selection! We got the Hibachi Chicken and the portions are big! This was a table favorite. Not too saucy, salty, or dry. There was enough for leftover lunch! 5⁄5 Yakisoba: tasty. Loved the vege, protein, and noodle ratio. Good amount. The noodles were not typical yakisoba noodles, but still good. Not overcooked or undercooked. Sauce was better than what I have tried. 4⁄5 Overall Tomoya has good food, great service, and the prices are awesome.

This place is very okay. I totally agree with another 3-star review in that this place does not really deserve four stars(if it was based off customer service maybe, or perhaps I just think the manager seems like a very polite kind man who deserves a good review) because there are better places out there. If you want sushi, this place does the trick as well as any other sushi-serving place out there. The miso soup used to be self-serve but now they just come with combo meals(to my knowledge). It was salty the couple times I’ve been(which doesn’t bring down the rating because a lot of other Japanese places have overly salted miso as well LOL)… I had to add hot water to dilute it, and then it was good! Because one of the times I went was for a birthday party, I got to sample a lot of their menu items — they were all nicely presented the way you’d expect pretty sushi to be plated, and the taste was also very acceptable. Spider rolls, volcano rolls, salmon, etc, were all good. They offer hibachi bowls that are also acceptably sized for the price, and the taste is teriyaki-stereotype, so nothing to really complain about. Again, even though this place is «Japanese fast food,» your bill is still going to come out to a higher price than if you’d gone to a place with a difference cuisine. So don’t forget that. So overall, this place is really an A-OKAY spot to go if you want to sit down and have a chat over sushi. Also, there’s a Studio Movie Grill nearby so the dinner-and-a-movie date option is definitely feasible here.
