I saw this doctor because he was the doctor I saw in the hospital. He did a very quick assessment and attributed my high heart rate to just being anxious. After being in ICU in the hospital for 5 days I was not anxious to just be sitting in a regular doctors office. He wanted to wait 6 months for follow up testing just because he wasn’t sure if my insurance would pay for it (without even checking) and didn’t even perform an exam.
I wound up asking my primary doctor for a referral to another cardiologist who has since diagnosed me with several issues that we are trying to find the cause of. And that follow up echo was scheduled and done within 3 weeks of me seeing him.
