I was pleasantly surprised when I visited CamLab. A personable young man assisted me and answered all of my many questions. Finding the place was a challenge even with my GPS. it is located in an office building and I was not aware of that. I did not actually have any work done, but he made sure an old Nikon was still functioning correctly. When i asked for the charges, he said it was his pleasure to help me out. This would be a trustworthy place to handle camera equipment.

What a nice place, run by a really great guy! I brought in a vintage 28 mm f/2.0 Vivitar lens I had purchased off of EBay which had begun malfunctioning, and Camlab fixed it perfectly, and for a really reasonable price. The lens focuses smoothly again, and it saved me the hassle of trying to find another comparable lens. Diego was very patient, and is very knowledgeable. I wouldn’t take my equipment anywhere else from now on.

Honest! Went in there thinking that I broke my camera. Turned out I messed with some settings. He was honest didn’t try to turn it into something it wasn’t. Will definitely recommend them!!!

This place was recommended by a friend and I happen to live in the area so I stopped by when I thought my shutter had an issue and needed to be replaced. I spoke to Daniel who informed me he didn’t think it was the shutter but rather the lens aperture. I have the Canon 24 – 105F4 and apparently the aperture issue is pretty common. He explained to me what it was that happened and what needed to be fixed and assured me my camera was fine. What a relief! Fair price, quick turnaround, very knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions and he answered them all thoroughly. I could tell that he is really into cameras of all types, knows their operations well and is able to explain it to the customer in a way they’d understand. This is important as not everyone can do that. I’ve told everyone I know if they ever have a camera/lens issue come here and see Camlab. I can’t wait to go back and have them service some more of my gear. Trust is very important and it’s great to find an honest place with guys who love what they do, do it so well and at a very fair price. Thanks so much!

I would never go anywhere else for cleanings/repairs! We have gone to Camlab about 3 – 4 times now for different things. Daniel and Diego are so nice and really care about their customers. They have a quick turnaround, are so knowledgable, and great to work with. This is truly an honest establishment and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! Thank you so much, Camlab. We’re so happy we found you!

Camlab cleaned my two Canon cameras and helped me understand an important difference between my 7D and my 5D. When Diego realized that I hadn’t updated my 7D he did it himself. Everything about my interaction with Camlab was truly excellent. I intend to have them service my equipment from now on. Even the price was very reasonable. I recommend Camlab with reservation.

CamLab took care of me. Quick turn around. I had them replace my auto focus and clean the sensor on my DSLR. All parts were in stock. The camera is working perfectly and I won’t hesitate to return to CamLab if needed.

The technicians at Camlab were courteous, professional, and their quotes were very reasonably priced. My DSLR which I had for 9 years, broke a few months ago and I worried-sick that it wasn’t repairable — they took the time to show me what was malfunctioning, and I walked out there with my now working camera! So grateful to have a local trustworthy and experienced camera repair service here in Miami. Thank you guys!

This place is awsome! Went in with some focus issues and he tested my lens and camera and was so honest. Turns out nothing was wrong! I couldn’t believe how professional, nice and fair this experience was. I will go back if I need a DSLR repair. In fact, I’ll never go any place else again!

Easy to deal with, courtesy, and professional… Arrived about 5:45pm(15 mins before closing and was still greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. Never rushed while he inspected and tested my camera, then showed me what he found. I agreed to the fair charge of $ 45 and he asked if I would like to wait for it or leave it. I opted to wait if he didn’t mind(since it was now almost 6pm(closing time). He cleaned my sensor basically on the spot, in less than 10 mins and came back to demonstrate the same tests to confirm it had been cleaned properly. I had another issue with my flash, but he assured me it was only cosmetic and not worth the money to repair as long as it continues working properly. That equals trustworthy IMO! Will definitely be back, especially since also repairs iPads/tablets, etc. Another gem found thanks to the Unilocal community!!! Thank you!

CamLab is the place to go for any of your camera’s needs. They fixed my Canon EOS7D, and gave it a little tune up. Very professional and priced just right. It’s great to have a reliable local place to go to instead of having to mail my camera.

They repaired a lens for me that I had dropped and it seemed to be working fine when I picked it up. It’s a pretty basic lens that I don’t use much. Less than 60 days and about 100 frames later, the autofocus went wiggy and then started making a grinding noise. I switched to manual focus and discovered that it didn’t work either. The lens was locked into auto-focus which wouldn’t focus. I brought it back and they told me that I had gotten SAND in the lens, causing the auto-focus problem AND that I had dropped it, causing the manual focus wire to be cut inside the lens. Really? A drop that caused an internal wire to be CUT? The only issue is that I hadn’t been near the beach or dropped the lens. He pointed to some minuscule sand fragments stuck in a couple of crevices on the outside of the lens that had been there for a good year and a half. Then he zoomed the lens out and showed me what he said was sand inside. It looked like standard specs of dust to me. He claimed that when he had repaired the lens the first time, he cleaned it and whatever sand or dust particles may have been inside of it would have been removed. Again, strange since the lens hadn’t come within miles of a beach — or a sandbox. When I asked him what specific repairs it needed, he proceeded to tell me that he didn’t know until he opened the lens up. Maybe new gears. Well, then how did he know that sand was causing the problem? Because, he replied, he opened it up… Ok. Not to mention that they claim to provide a 3 month warranty. So how can he say that this was a separate issue if he hadn’t checked to see what the problem was? Or had he? Just to be safe, I checked my camera bag to make sure there was no sand inside which could have caused the issue. There, of course, wasn’t, as it hadn’t been near the beach in well over a year. I don’t go out of my way to cause harm to businesses. I have no reason to lie. They seem like nice people. But my lens was neither taken anywhere near sand, nor dropped. I can’t prove it, but it seems to me that the«repair» job they originally did wasn’t done correctly and something came loose inside the lens, causing the problems. According to him, he hadn’t even opened the lens to find out. Oh, wait… yes he did. Internal wires don’t just sever themselves. And the fact that he flipped between saying he hadn’t opened the lens and HAD opened the lens seems a little too shady to me, quite honestly. So one of the following must be true: a.) it’s their fault b.) I’m a heartless liar c.) the lens was abducted by beach loving, slippery-fingered aliens and then carefully put back into my camera bag while I slept. Also, three times they were supposed to call me: twice to give the repair estimates, and once let me know the lens was ready to be picked up after the first«repair» job — they never called me any of those times. Apparently the customer has to track them down. Great customer service guys.
