Plantation Preserve Golf Course and Club

I had heard a lot of good things before playing Plantation Preserve, and it’s definitely worth the hype.
If this course was $ 150 – 200 to play it, I’d probably give it 4 stars — but for residents, and premier card players its $ 50 or less. No question that’s a 5 star price and value.
The range and practice facility are top notch (5 stars) — even more facilities are available if you’re a member. The course is playable for all ages/​genders depending on the tees that you play, but also can be very challenging and demanding. For example, there aren’t a lot of forced carry shots, but depending on how aggressive a line you take, you can make a lot of holes more risk/​reward. For me, I love having a lot of options off the tee, and this course gives you that. It’s really what a great golf course should be — playable for everyone and challenging at the same time. 5 stars for that.
Tees and fairways were very well manicured. The paspalum greens were very interesting– putted like Velcro in some spots, along with having a lot of undulation — but overall very good (but not perfect) condition — 4 stars.
Pace of play was also very good, especially on a Saturday afternoon — played in 3.5 hours, which is never a bad thing — was very happy with that. 5 stars.
Overall, I’d definitely say it’s one of my favorite places for golf in South Florida, and well worth a try — chances are you won’t be disappointed.

This course was wonderful. In great shape and like someone else posted greens were a tad slow but got use to it. A lot of dog legs and interesting holes. Not overly tough but worthy of a tee time. Played on April 1, 2015.

The practice facilities are nice and so is the course. The golf shop staff could be a bit friendlier though.

Yesterday was the first time on this course. But I don’t think it will be my last.
We came out as a company outing here. It was explained earlier it was a city course. But wow you could not tell. I’m a hack, let me just say that. But I have been on plenty of courses and this one was the best town course I have been on.
For starters the price wasn’t too bad. You would expect Plantation Preserve to cost far more as you pull in, the landscaping and general energy feels like a newer posh golf course.
We played 18 holes and I was impressed by many aspects of the course. Without getting gimmicky they had many different types of holes. There was one hole on the back 9 that shared the green with another hole. That was a first for me.
All the people that we encountered on the staff were great. The drink car girl was new, and was missing most drinks we asked for, but that is about the only negative of the day

Love this golf course. It is open to the public. There is a fee to use the course but it’s not too pricy.
We came here for golf lessons. The staff is extremely friendly.
There is a separated area for private lessons. The golf carts have a small TV with a navigation system. It also slows down if you are going to fast.
The course is well kept. Super clean and very well taken care of.

I recently moved near this facility and just wanted to hit a bucket of balls. I showed around after 3 and the guys in the clubhouse were awesome. I got to the range which was 100% grass. (Awesome) the grass was a little chunky but to be considered given the time I was rolling in. There was two rude guys talking loudly about cheating the government out of money and how to avoid taxes. I mentioned something to them about their volume and they ignored me. (Boo) I was 20 balls in and feeling stretched out and then the lightning delay horn sounded. Having never heard that before I asked a staff member (pink shirt) and he coldly told me to head to the club house. I then met James at the bar and he was a great company. Kudos to James. Overall there was over an hour lightning delay. By the time I was done with my drink and headed back out to finish my bucket they were apparently closed (6:30) I asked a staff member if I could finish the leftover 20 or so balls. He said no. I explained I was new in town and it was gorgeous outside right now. He then rudely said the facility was not a driving range and wished me away. I will never return based on this experience with staff of the course.(beware the pink shirts) I may return to the bar alone due to the courteous service James offered. Hope they would consider the time of day and amount of delay and possibly like soccer (futbol) add the time on the back end, within reason of course. Shame I got shorted my outing due to lightning and delay. Left balls and a coin on the spot.

This course is in good shape and is priced fairly especially if you’re a Plantation resident. It is challenging in spots but forgiving in other spots. On some greens you’ll have to be surgical. On some fairways you’ll par after putting your tee shot in the neighboring fairway. Overall this is a fun course.

I recently co-​hosted a bridal shower here and was really pleased with the venue. The location was very pretty and there were lots of large windows that overlooked the well-​manicured golf course. We didn’t have to do much to dress it up to look like a bridal shower — a few centerpieces and favors and we were done! We opted for their lunch buffet option and the food was better than I expected (i.e. not the bland/​generic buffet options you get at a place like the Signature Grand). The staff and servers were extremely helpful and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the event.
The venue is THISCLOSE to being perfect except for a bridal shower except for the fact that their largest room is only semi-​private. They had a large wall partition but it didn’t cover the entire area so all of the patrons in the restaurant area could see everything going on. It wasn’t horrible but I did think to myself a few times that it would be nicer and prettier if they found a way to make the room completely private. Other than that, it was a great experience!

Played gold here yesterday. I loved the course, pristine conditions and the greens are in great shape. They got new golf carts with GPS that can plan your shots for you. The starter was really friendly as well. They have several challenging holes. My nemesis was the par 4, 17 with an island green. Watch your balls fellas.

Went for brunch. It was disappointing. It is a buffet. They had several hot choices but they weren’t very tasty-​average. The desserts were also average. The view of the golf course was nice.

My favorite track in the Lauderdale area. It’s the best value as far as difficulty of play, pristine conditions and the amazing scenery on the course. This is my go to course when it comes to out of towers come to visit.

Great Sunday brunch and reasonably priced!

I attended a wedding here in October 2011. The ceremony was held outside, behind the clubhouse. The grounds are beautiful and appear well maintained. A couple of negatives about having a wedding outdoors in this location: The course is near the airport so there is a distracting amount of noise from aircraft circling overhead. Secondly, the ceremony was right next to the driving range. Not only were the golfers in the background but the noise was distracting. The bride’s father was fuming that the course would not close down the range 30 minutes early and ended up sending someone to ask people to move to the other end of the practice range.
After the ceremony we went into the clubhouse for the reception. The reception hall is narrow but has a nice view of the surrounding greens. The employees working the event were all very profession and gracious. Overall the food was just OK. One of my favorites of the night was a beef wellington hors d’oeuvres. The puff pastry was just right with the salty beef. Other food, including egg rolls, mango fish, a mushroom chicken dish, potatoes and salad was mostly a let down. Even the dinner rolls were hard.

Great golf course and fairly priced in the off season (summer time). You can play late afternoon for the summer for a good price… peak hours are a bit pricey.

Went this morning for Sunday brunch. I really enjoyed it! I would have given it 4 stars had they offered Cappuccinos or any espresso drinks. It was very serene and laid back. The buffet is very well priced at about 14.00 per person. They have an omelette station, self serve coffee, salad (traditional fixings), sausage, bacon, eggs Benedict, cheese blintzes (sp?), Belgian waffles, bagels, croissants, toast etc. They also had a sweets section with mini blueberry scones, muffins, pound cake, chocolate cake, mini cinnamon rolls, apple pie and key lime pie. That’ s from what I remember off the top of my head, they probably have more stuff.
In a nutshell, pretty good for the price and location. Windows face the golf course which is really nice. They have outside seating which will be nice to try in the fall when it cools off a lot more.
Will come back again for sure.
