Pollo Tropical

Really?!! Had a craving for Pollo riibs. Should have known better than to go through the drive-​thru, but this location isn’t the safest area to get out your vehicle solo at night. Two bones – where’s the meat?! Come on guys, that ain’t right. The sides of yellow rice and boiled yucca were tasty.

Very slow service during peak hours. (18 minutes from order to receiving food). Three people in front of me received wrong orders or missing items. My order was also incorrect. Asked for a plain quesadilla wrap with no chicken. Left the restaurant and got in the car, found my wrap loaded with chicken. Thanks for nothing.

Had to leave before ordering. Staff did not wash hands! Beware! This is a shame, considering another reviewer got sick. Avoid like the plague. Fecal matter in food is no laughing matter.

Nowadays I have started to just automatically assume good help is hard to find, particularly at fast food restaurants, so decent service is a bonus. I come here for the value because I live in my car trucking around kids, who as they get older have become food vacuums.
It seems that the prices have gone up slightly and the portions have gotten smaller. Usually the individual meals are around $ 5 each. I’m not a fan of the open condiment bars of veges and sauce concoctions; I ask for the little prepacked to-​go cups of sauces, still hoping for the best. I stick to the off-​the-​grill chicken meals because the other meat has been unidentifiable or «just not quite right» to me.
Service at this location can be spotty, both inside and outside drive-​thrus can be a pain-​staking wait but after seeing a very pregnant server muster up a smile for me at 10 o’clock at night, knowing she probably had been on her feet for hours, and still had a long night ahead, I returned the smile mostly in sympathy-​been there done that-​and rounded up a star.

After about an hour from eating lunch take out from here, I was in bed for 2 days with a fever the runs AND NON STOP STOMACH PAINS, I ate the BBQ Guava Trop Chop with yellow rice and black beans & a Guava Bar. I have spoke to other co-​workers about this Pollo Tropical and unfortunately experienced the same. Please beware people.

This was the last straw for this restaurant. Went in on my lunch break today. Cold chicken and hair on my rice. None of the staff wear hair nets. This was not my first bad experience. A time before the manager and a staff were in a full out argument. This was the night shift and I dined in. Another time I witnessed a girl on the line receive two trays back from the drive thru and remove the chicken from the plates and place it back under the warmer. She then attempted to serve me those pieces Ans became rude and belligerent when I rejected them and asked for fresh chicken. The same girl today attempted to dump a customers rice back into the main rice tray after she gave him a double serving and he told her he didn’t want a double serving. She stopped only because the guy told her he’d keep it. They have unsanitary food-​handling practices at this restaurant and the manager seems mote concerned with standing at the main door greeting customers and sneaking free food to her family and friends (have witnessed that twice). I will né returning for a refund.

Typical Pollo Tropical location. Very busy lunch hour since it’s on 441 and Broward. Staff is friendly and attempt to get you in & out. Plus, small patio to eat an outside lunch on a nice day. Personal preference: Boneless Chicken Breast over Regular Chicken. Just as tasteful but less calories and fat.
