Cold, soul less, depressing place. Cold, soul less, blood was drawn 45 minutes after my appointment. Phlebotomist did her job but zero personality. Did nothing to comfort me. A little personality would have gone a long way. Hand sanitizer machine by the front door lacks sanitizer. Bring sweater, freezing inside. Better yet, avoid this place.

This is one of those places where you automatically set yourself up to have a poor experience, much like the dentist or the dmv so naturally as soon as I got in the door my stomach hurt.
It’s a pretty painless process (I’m not talking about the blood draw) there are two windows– the first signs you in and the second takes your information. After that you’re sent to the holding area to wait your turn.
My appointment was at 10:15 and I was giving my blood to the vampires at 10:12. Note: please make an appointment before coming here. You can walk in, but you’ll wait. Appointments are always taken as a priority.
The tech was very friendly, making the blood draw very easy. It only took time because they took so much blood from me, but overall the experience was very pleasant. Everyone in the office was nice. They could spruce the place up a bit but I guess the idea is to get you in and out– you’re certainly not wanting to hang out here.

Having gone to this Quest office for about 20 years, the best thing here is most of the phlebotomists draw my blood on the first try. Some of the employees are very customer service oriented and pleasant as they get the patients in and out.
Often I’ll have a lighthearted conversation with the person at the window who processes my paperwork and takes my co-​pay. It sets the tone for a drama-​free experience.
But the underlying culture here is they lack a sense of urgency. Some of the employees just don’t seem concerned about the customers’ wait.
Today hubby and I needed blood tests for upcoming check ups. We got there 20 minutes before my appointment and an hour and 20 minutes before his — Saturday appts fill fast so we took available time slots. Somehow they called his name first. He went in, had his blood drawn and returned to the waiting room. I watched many others come and go (the waiting room was about half empty) but no one called my name.
There were 2 phlebotomists on duty. One was a man — the only man working there today — who leaned against a wall and talked to one of the patients for about 20 minutes. Hubby saw him making time with a patient who introduced herself to him as a CNA (certified nurse’s assistant) and I saw them still chatting 15 minutes later. He wasn’t on a break; he just didn’t feel like working even though he was INCHES from a row of patients waiting to have their blood drawn!
The other phlebotomist drew hubby’s blood and took my paperwork to her workstation before leaving it in the workstation desk and going to hang out with her coworkers at the front desk. When I asked the front desk people why people who arrived after me and who had appts after mine were being called and I wasn’t, she told me she forgot that she left my paperwork on the unmanned station. Nice!
The phlebotomist sent me to the workstation where she soon followed and then drew my blood. She was very nice and truly sorry but it underscored their culture. They don’t put the customer first. They don’t even remember the customer. They are busy hanging out with patients right in front of other patients waiting to be tested. Or hanging at the front desk with coworkers. Most of us were fasting and it would have been nice to have someone see us around our appointment time.
So if you have no place to be and are primarily concerned with getting stuck only once this is the office for you. If not, try the quiet, efficient Quest offices in the Sawgrass mall lot (near Don Pan) or on Broward Blvd and 70^th Street — just not on Saturdays because they’re closed.

This Quest Diagnostics is located in a strip mall that looks a little shady. Their entrance is from the inside of the strip mall so driving around the parking lot may get a little frustrating. Just park and look for a directory to point you to the right direction.
It looks pretty sterile when you walk in, but it’s a lab so it should look that clean. However, it smelled horrible. You can detect the slightest odor of urine in the air. Honestly, I know this is the place to go for blood work and urine tests and what not, but they need to do a better job cleaning up or filtering the air.
The receptionist at the desk didn’t even greet me when I walked in. There were only two other people in the waiting room and they were already registered. Honestly lady, your job description probably has some form of customer service in it, and that is exactly what you’re lacking. I walked up to the window and informed her that I had an appointment. She then pointed with her lips for me to sign in. She didn’t even hand me the clipboard and pen. Ugh, I know I’m being picky about this, but every medical clinic I’ve been to, the receptionists always handed me clipboards and pens.
I also made an appointment but ended up waiting way longer than I was anticipating even though there were only two people in front of me.
Techs walked around with gloves on and touched everything. Even if the gloves are clean, it may give the patient the wrong idea. We don’t know it’s clean. For all I know it could have someone’s blood or urine droplets all over. Overall, not the greatest experience here. I would check out another location before returning to this one.
