I do NOT know what we would have done w/o this market while in the area for work from Oct-Feb. We made a weekly trip for the fresh, local, organic produce, local clean meats and raw milk cheeses. Heidi is a dear and so helpful and sweet. Driftless Market will be my first stop when I return for the month of April.

This is a great little specialty market in a great little downtown. I’ve been here a couple of times and taken advantage of some of the organic grocery and produce offerings as well as to find some special cooking sauces I like. Good choice of fresh produce and cheeses, condiments, pastas and other dry goods and grocery items. You can also pick up prepared foods and eat in there. The owner advised that the seating areas are being expanded to the upstairs space as well(so business must be good.) I took a peek and the two soups and a vegetarian chili which were offered, and they all looked very fresh and real! Well, admit, it. There are some foods out there that don’t, especially chili. Anyway, everything looked homemade. Prices are higher but quality, as in the produce is clearly better. And the café prices are moderate. As with any grocery, you need to shop wisely. This will be a regular stop in Platteville, ‘fer sure.

What a hidden treat! I love all the options. If you are looking for local product or something unique, they have it. We purchased Viroqua coffee — you have to try it! It was supposed to be for just a treat once in awhile, but it’s an every day treat now. They also have natural foods, essential oils, and handcrafted items. You have to stop by!

It is nice to have an local store that offers organic products that you cant get anywhere else. It is also nice that they are part of the main street the downtown needs more small business that help grow the local economy

Cute, quaint and well-stocked local market with international and local products. The gems of the market include their homemade soups, locally made breads and pastries. Don’t miss out on the amazing New Century Farms organic eggs that they carry. The farm is local and the eggs are incredible. Never had fresh same-day cheese curds until I visited Driftless Market. Hook’s cheese curds are to-die-for. Couldn’t stop eating them! Pick up some local organic butter or fresh produce. Prices are great for some items, a little hefty for others but if you care about nutritionally sound products, and love local items, this is the place to shop.

A great resource. A bit pricey, but worth it. They sell good stuff.

The Driftless Market is a great addition to Platteville’s Main Street! Their grocery store features local produce and groceries and favors all forms of organic products from food to soaps. The restaurant soups and sandwiches are very very good. Seating is limited and it may be tough to get a seat at peak times, but you can always get items to go. The staff is very helpful and considerate. And, if the grocery items and lunch items are not enough, you can browse the rotating exhibits by local artists! The atmosphere is very nice, set in a turn-of-the-century early 1900 space. The prices are a tad high, but worth the extra pennies to support community arts and agriculture and top quality organic products. Check out the Driftless Market. You will not be disappointed. Check out their webpage for recipes and interesting newsletters, too.
