Love this place for a quick, casual lunch when I’m in the mood for lobster and seafood. There are many items I would like to try from the menu, however when I eat there, the only taste I have is for Lobster! My last visit I had the Lobstah Melt. It was delicious! It is about the same as the Lobster Roll except it is served on a hamburger style bun with melted cheese and filled with Lobster Salad. Service is fast and efficient and the atmosphere is somewhat like an old fashioned diner — very casual. Will definitely be back again.

Finally back a year later! Fried clams great along with the cold slaw! This place was consistent & glad we came back. Tarter sauce is the best here along with the fried haddock!

Never had anything until today that was bad here. Lobster Bisque was the worst Lobster Bisque I ever had. $ 9.00 for a dish of colored cream that didn’t have any lobster in it and didn’t have any flavor of lobster in it. Stay away from that. I’m from Maine like the people that own the restaurant and in Maine there are pieces of lobster in their bisque. Have looked up several recipes after being disappointed today… all having lobster in them.

Wow, this place was an extreme disappointment. I ordered the lobster alfredo. When the entrée arrived, I could not see noodles, nor the lobster. It was like they dumped 3 jars of alfredo sauce on the dish! After digging, I found the noodles to be cut in one inch pieces(am I toddler?) and literally surrounded by cream. There were 3 tiny lobster pieces in the entire entrée. This dish was completely inedible. We were dining with two elderly relatives and did not want to make a big deal about it, so I asked for a cup of nonbuttered noodles on the side. 15+minutes later, the noodles FINALLY arrived. I ate literally 4 bites of this entrée. The best part was when the check came. Besides charging me FULL price for a dish I was not happy with, the waitress charged me $ 6.95 for the extra noodles!!! This place was a complete ripoff. The ambience is sterile and bright(think diner) and is located in a dinky plaza. Oh, and they don’t have a liquor license, so forget about enjoying a glass of wine or a beer. If you are looking for good seafood, you are NOT going to find it here, nor probably any other place in the Plattsburgh area. This place was such a huge disappointment. Probably more disappointing than the food was the poor service received. Never again.

I love Mainely Lobster! I live close so it’s easy for me to pick up dinner on a night we don’t want to cook. I’ve had nearly everything on the menu — favorites being the seafood chowder, oyster basket and the seafood alfredo’s. Some items I wish would be improved were the rolls and hot sandwiches, as they’re served on hot dog buns or small hamburger buns. Other than that issue(which I just don’t order them), I really enjoy it here.

Completely disappointing. Long wait, which I could let slide considering there seemed to be only 2 waiting tables Friday afternoon. I’ll patiently wait for good food. However, I patiently waited for food I’d like to forget soon. I ordered broiled scallops and broiled shrimp. The scallops were cooked well. The shrimp left much to be desired. They were slightly bigger than salad shrimp, weren’t deveined and tasted canned. My sides were green beans and mashed potatoes(they were out of baked). The green beans were canned! Unacceptable go out to eat and be served canned veggies especially when green beans are in season right now! The mashed potatoes were flavorless. When paying for my meal(nearly $ 20 for something I wouldn’t have liked to have paid $ 5 for), I told the waitress that my meal was just ok and she ignored me and went on her way as if I had said it was excellent. I understand that they were busy at the time but I think I deserved a moment more of her time. Needless to say, I will be avoiding this place on future trips to Plattsburgh.

I find the reviews here interesting. Maine shrimp are small — that’s what you get. New England scallops are the best I have had in Maine, RI, and Plattsburgh at Mainely Lobster. They are large but not humongous. Next to lobster, New England scallops are my favorites. There are many fried foods here but everything can be broiled and that is what I often get. There are also delicious seafood gratins. The chowder is milky not creamy but after eating gloppy chowders I really enjoy those. They were called bland but you can taste«seafood» in the milk/broth rather than spice or some other fake taste covering that up. Not sure what the person calling this food fake is used to but this is all real tasty seafood. The lobster rolls are smaller bits of lobster than I would prefer but they are fresh and have good flavor. The seafood chowder is loaded with seafood. The scallop rolls are delicious — very fresh and a good portion. I love their coleslaw. They do explain that they use Maine potatoes for fresh fries when they are the correct season(not too much moisture) and frozen at other times. Anyway — to each their own. I have been eating there more than 20 years when I visit family.

I wanted it to be good, but it was just ok,(although the«Lobstah Bisque» was pretty darn yummy.) One thing we did notice: as the first ones to enter the section of the dining room we were in, you would think that a group of four with simple orders,(4 orders fish/chips), would get served first, but those who arrived later got served infinitely faster — even a group of 10,(this means a lot to a family that had been on the road for 6 hours followed by a lengthy tour of the local campus — to put it plainly, WEWERESTARVING!) People that came in long after us ate and left before we were served. Weird. Maybe I’ll give it another try when we’re in Plattsburgh again to see if it was just an off night for«outtah-townahs».

Well I had to hop up to Plattsburgh for a week and we came here for lunch and got the lobster rolls which weren’t the best I’ve ever had but they were pretty tasty. The sides were nothing to write home about, tuna mac and cole slaw but I was happy with my meal for $ 10.95.

I love places with great names. At Mainely Lobster & Seafood they make two trips up to Maine per week to ensure the freshest seafood possible. Get it?! Maine and Mainely. PUN definitely intended. Luckily this place isn’t just a clever name. If your in the mood for decent seafood, the majority of which is fried, that will be light on your pocket book, then Mainely Lobster is for you. For a cost of $ 22 I got a pretty good lobster tail and a ton of deep fried scallops. I also had fries and beans, although the portions of the main entrée were to big for me to really even touch these. The service was good as well. I had a movie to go to and was kind of in a hurry. My server had no problem dropping the check off as soon as I got the meal and took care of it right away. She did try to make lots of small talk, either because I was looking incredibly good looking tonight or because I was alone and she felt sorry for me. Mainely Lobster was definately worth the trip. I will come back if I’m ever in butt hurting Plattsurgh again.
