I was new to the area when I asked around for the best spot to get my hair cut; this place was recommended, but looking back I realize it was by a couple of people with long hair and very few layers — no doubt an easy style to maintain. I had a pretty stylish reverse bob — it was very short in the back and angled down not quite to my chin, and had lots of layers. The young woman who attempted to cut my hair did a terrible, terrible job — she left me almost bald in places in the back, and the hair that was there refused to lay flat — it just stuck straight out. Before I left she spent a good 10 – 15 minutes trying to style the back and make it lie flat and kept saying that I had a lot of cowlicks, but I don’t — it was simply the lousy cut that was causing the problems. I suffered with it for 2 weeks before going to Indigo in Burlington to have it fixed. The woman there couldn’t believe what was done, and was apologetic that she couldn’t completely fix it until it grew out more, but she did a fabulous job repairing the butchering I got at Punki’s. The consensus: if you have long hair and are just in need of a trim or some very simple long layers, I’m sure they can handle it. But if you have a stylish, layered, shorter cut that you’re looking to maintain: STAYFARAWAY.
