Excellent little grocery for anything you need between shopping. All types of alcohol, organic foods, fresh fruits and veggies. Clean, spacious and friendly. I’m coming here from now on since my other store, Howes do not know how to treat customers and are rude.

Best selection of beer and alcohol hands down! The workers there are so helpful and friendly! They really make you feel welcome there! And it’s right by the beach very convenient! Definitely coming back to this store for future beach trips!

I am really proud of our little neighborhood market. I remember when it was a blockbuster and a sad looking liquor store. Its really beautiful now and a joy to shop in. Nice selection of produce and frozen foods as well as other foodstuffs. Amazing liquor selection. The employees are always nice and helpful… I don’t have one bad thing to say about the place! Great job guys!

I live down the street from this liquor market and WOW! I am definitely impressed by their selection of alcohol as well as food products. They have a very extensive collection of craft beer, wine and hard alcohol and for a smaller liquor store, the prices are more than reasonable.
I do like how they have a nice variety of groceries, although I think they tend to be a little overpriced, however, if you are feeling lazy to go to another store further away, this place is the right place to go to.
Every time I’ve come here, the staff are always friendly and incredibly helpful.
I feel so lucky that it is only a 5 minute walk away! :)

I go here a lot and absolutely love it. Good selection of beers and wines and a nice place to grab some quick grocery items. They also have a good selection of liquor that you can’t get at a local grocery store. It’s not a place that is going to have every random beer or wine, but for a local store, they do have a nice variety.

The best and only hard liquor store in the neighborhood! Always well stocked and the staff treats you like family! For better or worse!

Dale Jr’s is an awesome local liquor store/​market. They have a nice little grocery section for the necessities and have a great selection of liquor. Their craft beer section is fairly extensive and they have popular brews from all over the world. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and are really friendly. Grocery items are a little over priced, but it beats driving to the grocery store and fighting the weekday traffic.
This is my local go to liquor store and make it really convenient when we’re picking up dinner from Good Pizza. We tend to see the guys from Good Pizza in Dale Jr’s quite often and it’s cool to support the local businesses.

They have great fresh produce alot of good cheese and snacks. Huge beer selection as well as ice cream, nice friendly staff and the owner is a cool dude and keeps his place clean.

It doesn’t get much better than this place if you’re into good beer, wine and goodies. Walk in, get greeted, look to the left and the gates of heaven have opened. Best selection of GOOD wines and CRAFT beers that I have ever seen. Seems like everything is hand picked and they are always getting the latest and greatest in. The produce is fresh and well priced and same goes for their steaks and other meats. Just when i thought that it couldn’t get any better, they went out and bought more refrigerators to expand their already perfect alcohol selection. Ace of Spades, Veuve, Dom they got it all!!! Dales Jr. is an amazing store. Not your typical neighborhood market, Dales Jr has a variety of quality products. From produce to deli, wines to snacks. They have it!
Dales Jr. Market started carrying Comfy House Foods and Ay Chiwawa Fresh products, namely their hummus (classic, roasted garlic, roasted bell pepper, cilantro jalapeño), baba ghanoush, the awesome multi-​layered dip, chunky guacamole dips (both classic and organic) and my personal favorites, their vegan puddings. Check out the choco bliss (Chocolate Tapioca pudding), Quinoa bleu (quinoa blueberry pudding), B’nana Wave (banana coconut pudding) and Brown & Wild multi-​grain rice pudding. All four puddings are vegan, yet so delicious and nutritious. More places to grab these healthy snacks now!

Without this place being around the corner from us, living in Playa just wouldnt be the same. For a market this size, this place has a great mix of items, including produce, good quality lunch meats/​cheeses, a solid range of cooking essentials, an excellent selection of craft beer and a relatively good selection of spirits and wine as well. It’s about as much of a one-​stop-​shop as one could pack into a place that size. Pretty nice that you can get firewood there as well. Although the prices are a bit higher than the local supermarket, we understand that this is just something that comes along with the operation of an independent market in a relatively high rent area. And we are okay with the idea of paying a little more to support a good local business so that it stays around and we continue to enjoy its convenience. Alex, who I assume is the owner, is also very friendly which pushes the whole experience for us into (the rarely achieved) five star territory.

Not bad, small market with liquor, spirits, necessities, etc.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Dales yesterday (05-​18-​2013) to buy $ 200.00 worth of Powerball Lottery tickets. When I asked the cashier for 100 quick picks, he said 100, yes 100=) Well, I want the person in Florida who is the sole winner that I want my money back.
Dales Market is located in a residential district on the corner of Falmouth Ave & W. Manchester Ave.
Dales Market is located in a strip mall and shares its parking with several other businesses. A great thing about Dales Market is if there is no parking you can always find street parking if need be.
Dales Market is a local little market that supplies everything one might need and that one might find a large box store. Dales has you basic toiletry items, laundry detergent, hot & cold food, cold drinks, ice cream, snack foods, alcohol, fun things to take to the Beach and of course the Lottery.
Dales used to be a small little liquor store. Over the years Dales Jr took over the Blockbuster that used to be located just adjacent to their small little liquor store. Well once Dales took over Blockbuster, they knocked down the wall and made a HUGE store. Chances are if you know the area you have driven past this place without stopping never really knowing how BIG it is inside. This place is not your ordinary local little market. I have been coming here for years and I know that I have never shopped the entire store just to see what they have, I might be shocked myself if and when I do so.
Dales is so awesome they have several surfboard hanging from the ceiling=) Dales accepts cash, credit & debit. The cashiers, staff, owners of Dales are top notch and tend to be on a first name basis with several of the regulars that live in the area. They are quick to say hello when you walk in the door and quick to wish you a good day as you are leaving and to me the small things matter.
My girlfriend and I will continue coming to Dales Market for a majority of our needs. When you are in doubt you should always side with supporting the local business over the big box store. You may pay a few pennies more for the same product you can find at a larger box store but who are really supporting with that money?

They’ve gotten much bigger (took over the old Blockbuster, in addition to their current space).
High-​tone market with great booze selection (and after that, there’s not much else to consider, really) and other deli/​foodstuffs.
Good place to get your booze from so you can sit and get tanked while waiting for your laundry to finish.

Dale’s. Ah, Dale’s. Dale’s is simply phenomenal. Do items cost more here than they would at Ralph’s, BevMo, or Trader Joe’s? Yes. Is Ralph’s, BevMo, or Trader Joe’s directly across the street from me? No. Further, as a local store, these guys can’t get the economies of scale the big guys can. They’re not competing on price, and if they tried their margins would be horrible and they’d go out of business. They compete on convenience and qualtiy.
I’m a craft beer guy. Dale’s has a great selection of craft beers and they are frequently changing. If I was a wino, this place would be awesome as there is a lot of wine.
Finally, the personal touch. Maybe I shouldn’t be proud that I’m known by my first name at a liquor store, but I certainly appreciate that the staff takes the time to learn who I am and are willing to shoot the breeze when business is slow. Once I accidentally left my wallet at home, and was told not to worry about it and pay them tomorrow. Love those guys.

Why I remember when Djr was a wee tiny liquor store holding it down in Playa Del Rey wedged in between Blockbuster Video and the Laundromat.
Then one day… Blockbuster Video was no more. :(
So the good people at Djr decided to acquire the space left by Blockbuster and go big! Djr now offers produce and all sorts of salty tasty snacks to satisfy every stoners cravings. Yeah stoners.
So if your travels take you to this neck of the woods (Playa Del Rey) stop by and load up on all your favorite wines, spirits and all things blended together that guarantee to get you F’d Up! Dont forget the pork rinds.

This is yet another liquor store that thinks it’s appropriate not to use price tags, leaving you in wonderment that your 6 pack and a soda came to $ 17. Their selection is OK, but honestly not as amazing as I’ve had elsewhere in the area. On top of that I wouldn’t describe the staff as the friendliest, and they refused to let me take my purchase without a plastic bag. Evidently they were offended that some people give a damn about the planet, and the cashier made up some BS story about it not being legal to walk out the door with a 6 pack of closed bottles.
Why two stars and not one? Their avocados are surprisingly reasonably priced (79 cents last I checked)
Best avoided.

I am so pleased that Dales Jr is my local neighborhood market! They have everything and have saved me a lot of driving to and line standing at TJ’s when I have forgotten one or two items. I even found organic applewood smoked bacon! Nice! As other reviewers have mentioned, the owner and staff are indeed friendly and cheerful and I always walk out with what I came for plus a smile. Bonus!
Although there are slightly higher prices (and worth it like any other convenience) the selection and service can’t be beat. Stop in and just see for yourself.

Dales is awesome. They have a great selection of beer including dogfish and flying dog. I also love that I can pick up a box of Drumsticks, grab a bag of chips, or get a frozen pizza for dinner. It’s a little bit pricier on some things versus the grocery store, but you’re paying for the convenience. I wish the produce looked better because than it could really be a one stop shop.
The guys that run/​own the joint are super friendly and always cheerful.
