Seaside Grooming

I just want to applaud Lisa and her commitment to excellence. I am a Playa Del Rey local and have brought my Shih Tzu in a number of times to see Lisa. Whether it was my lack of communication or a misunderstanding, but Babs wasn’t being cut as short as I wanted… When I called Lisa to ask her to please note her book for next time she graciously requested that I bring her back in for a full grooming and was so receptive and apologetic. You can tell she is passionate about what she does and truly strives to please her clients. It doesn’t go unnoticed, Lisa! Thank you!

I’ve been taking my Pomeranian, Max, to Seaside grooming for almost 2 years and have always loved their work. It’s great to drop him off and get a call later saying he’s ready. He’s excited to see me pick him up to show off his new style!

Lisa is one of the best groomers out there! She is wonderful with the animals and does a phenomenal job on the dogs styling. I would definetly recommend Seaside grooming and Lisa to anyone in the area. She is honest, observant and very caring!

Tip: Call before you pop in because sometimes she leaves before 4pm ( Unilocal’s closing time).
I stopped by with Chandler and he hasn’t had his nails cut since I adopted him 6 weeks ago and thought he would need his nails and private parts groomed… But the lady was honest and said he only needed a couple nails trimmed and barely needed any hair cut down. We were charged $ 8 total for that day (normally $ 6 for just nails).

We recently rescued a poodle mix. We took him to seaside grooming a few weeks back just to have his eyebrows trimmed up and Lisa was amazing telling us how to keep his hair from matting by brushing him properly. and she also showed us how to brush him. Today, we took him for the whole shebang, a proper grooming and he came back looking like the sweetest little fluff nugget that you’d ever see! She reassured me that they put cotton balls in their ears to prevent infection and that really reassured me that seaside grooming was the right place to take him. I like supporting small business and Lisa truly has a dedicated heart in what she does.

A great find! Lisa and the other ladies here obviously take such pride and care in their work.
You can count not only on an excellent bathing and grooming, but that they’ll go the extra mile with customer service. They return calls promptly, always fit me in on short notice and accommodate my schedule. Also, after grooming sessions they give me a status update on anything they noticed… like an irritated or sensitive ear that I might want to mention to the vet. You can tell they just love the dogs, which makes it much easier to leave them for a few hours to be groomed.

Went to Seaside Grooming for the first time today and it was GREAT!
I have heard great things from clients at my work. So I decided to book and appointment for my dog Fred who is a white cocker spaniel. I dropped him off at 10:30 and he was done by 2:30. I’m so happy I found a place that does an AMAZING job and they were so nice and even gave me some advice for my dogs skin allergies.
I will never take my dog anywhere else from now on!

Have been going here for about 15 years or longer, two different dogs. Great service. Excellent grooming. Pricey YES. But I trust them. My doggie goes in looking like a shelter dog and comes out looking like a doggie that belongs in a castle. SERIOUSLY Lisa (and Lisa) do wonders! Love them!

Need to trim your pets nails and can’t do it yourself? Come here. She takes less than 30 seconds and your pet is done. $ 6.

I’ve only taken my pet for nail trims but the staff has been very nice, careful with my pet, and the prices are reasonable. Plus: for nail clips, they’ll take walk-​ins.

I normally don’t write reviews, even when a place has been great. I know I should, but I never get around to it. But today is different…
This is only my second time trying this place, and they obviously don’t know anything about dogs or how to treat them. I just picked up my dog after he was there for SIX AND A HALF HOURS! When I first made the appointment for my dog to get groomed, I was told that if I dropped him off between 8am and 8:30am, he’d probably be ready around 1pm. So when I dropped him off this morning, I didn’t bother asking what time to pick him up, they had said they’d call me (although I had already thought that 4 ½ or 5 hours to bathe and groom a dog was too long). So when 1:30pm rolled around today and I hadn’t heard from them yet, I called them to check in. The gal who picked up the phone (I’m not sure of her name) said that it would be another hour or hour and a half. I expressed my concern about him being there for so long and not being able to relieve himself but she didn’t seem to care. So another hour and fifteen goes by and they finally call me to pick him up. I race down there (fortunately I’m just in MDR so it took 5 minutes). They brought him out to me right away and on a positive note, his coat looked great. They groomed him just the way I asked. But, as I suspected, the poor guy hadn’t gone pee the entire time! I had my husband take him outside to a small patch of weeds and he went pee immediately. What makes them think its OK to keep a dog for 6 ½ hours without taking him out to go pee? When I asked her if he ever got to relieve himself, she said that he could have gone pee in the crate. Well my dog isn’t one of those dogs that just pee anywhere and everywhere, so of course he didn’t go. Poor guy. I started talking to her about why it took so long and she said that she had hurt her arm and it takes her longer to brush dogs out right now. Not to be insensitive, but NOT MY PROBLEM. My dog shouldn’t have to suffer because you’re injured. If you’re hurt, stay home!
So after paying the bill, which wasn’t cheap by the way — $ 80! — we take our dog home and immediately take him for a walk. Not only did he go pee again, but he also had to go #2 (sorry for the TMI, but poor guy had to hold it all day!). THEN we take him in our home and he runs to the water bowl, completely parched! HE HADN’T HAD ANY WATER ALL DAY! Its almost inhumane what they did to my poor guy — deprived him of water and being able to relieve himself for six and a half hours. My husband and I are responsible pet owners and don’t believe in leaving our dog home alone all day, cooped up, with no way or place to relieve himself. He’s a part of our family and we treat him that way. How would you feel if that was you…6 ½ hours in confinement without being able to go to the bathroom or drink water?!
Funny enough, not 5 minutes after we got home, I got a phone call from Seaside Grooming telling me that he was ready to be picked up. I told him that I had just picked him up and the guy said he must have been given the wrong card and pretty much just hung up on me.
Needless to say I will NOT be returning to this place. EVER

So today was our 3^rd time taking our cats to Seaside Grooming, and I learned something very important today. The first 2 times I went and dealt with someone, it was not Lisa. Lisa was fantastic today! I never knew that the woman I had been dealing with prior to this was a different lady, but when we went to pick up the cats this afternoon, it was definitely not the same person I had dealt with in the past!
Lisa was sweet, understanding and very professional with the cats. Apparently 3^rd time is the charm, and I’m glad I gave this place a 3^rd chance. It’s hard to find cat groomers, and now I feel comfortable and confident that this is a safe professional place for mine! (As long as you deal with Lisa!)

Lots of selection for those who have smaller dogs and want a selection of colorful colors to match your ensemble for the day.
Thats not me. My dog has one collar and that is all.
She did have some great big dog toys that my pooch would love.
This is near the end of Culver Blvd. Playa Del Rey. Many are just going through as they run the beach side of LAX commuting. Slow down and check this little area out.

Our dog needed grooming badly. Not only did Lisa make time for us, she was kind, patient, and nurtured both our dog and ourselves through the process. Her shop is clean, and she has 30 years of experience working with pets, so she’s seen it all. Her shop is clean, and the pictures of clients that she keeps on the wall lets you know just how much she cares.
I can’t wait to take Lennon back there. If you live in the Playa/​Westchester/​Marina area, you should bring your pet here, because on top of the outstanding service, her prices are more than reasonable.
