US Post Office

One man is always working when I come in, and provides the most confusing, slow service. He seems to never be able to give you the service you want and makes things difficult. I’ve never had an experience at any USPS like this one… if the line is only a few people long expect a wait of at least 20 minutes. Very frustrating!

Really the worst post office — unfortunate that it is the closest one. The man who «owns the place» could not be more rude and angry. The worst aspect is that the counter service is closed completely for his random «lunch hour». The hour that it will be closed should be posted — but instead is random and at the whim of the postmaster. Playing the lunch hour lottery is not how I like to spend my time. As a public office payed by tax money, the hours that the office will be closed need to be publicly posted.

F this place! SLOW, F’d up service. USPS please hurry up and go out of business. Walk into mail something and get barked at: «we’re closed»

— NEVER any supplies; priority rate envelopes etc
— Dirty and decrepit.
Negative 50 stars. Happily giving my money to UPS or FedEx instead!

There seem to be three employees here. Hours start at 9 am with one employee. But no one came until 10. The lady was actually very nice, but harried as she said the guy who was supposed to open called in sick. The lady behind me said she’d seen him at 9:45 in a coffee shop. LOL. They have very few supplies here and no self-​serve machine. Otherwise it’s OK. They seem to close for lunch.

I am in love with this post office. It is a small little post office in a small area. the clerk is a older guy but he is too nice with a great personality and wonderful conversation. I love that its small and makes u feel like your mail is safe and hat u have known him for years!

Where our tax dollars go to die. Bring a sack lunch and be prepared to make a day out of your excursion if there is more than one person in front of you. I haven’t personally seen or heard Steve being rude or condescending. Just SLOWER THAN MOLASSES. I don’t like to write bad reviews, but if you have ANYWHERE else to be after the post office go somewhere else.

The old man who works there didn’t want to give me estimated price of delivery until I provide to him the exact address, but I didn’t have the exact address, I sked him to inpur just NYC and tell me the price, but he refused. It’s a very wierd post office, looks like middle west deep countryside post office. They sell everything, even boxes and package materials, but it’s freee in other branches. It ha to be somethin changed over there.

This Post Office should be shut down. It is poorly managed and there is no organization going on there. I received a tag that my package was supposed to be there. I waited almost 30 minutes waiting for Steve to find the package. I could hear him rummaging around in the back like he was going through a garage that is piled high with junk. The Post office should not be allowed to run this way. I requested to have the package redelivered to my address online and still no package. Seriously how difficult is it to deliver a package in your neighborhood? The service is always super slow and they always seem to be at lunch. If they were a regular business they would go out of business. Stay away from this post office it is not worth the drama and your packages will be lost…

This is the worst post office on the planet! There is a reason that it is not busy, and that is because even if there are only two of you in line, it is going to take awhile. Steve, the lone postman, is cranky and borderline abusive. I’ve walked in while he is in the back of the post office yelling and dropping F-​bombs and calling people idiots, only to have him walk out and see me and not even acknowledge what I just heard. And he’s soooo slooooow. The place is also a mess, packages piled high in every corner. The final clincher is that he closes at random times for an hour a day for lunch and 15 minutes here and there for breaks. I don’t deny that people need lunch and breaks but to CLOSE a post office in the middle of the day is ridiculous!

Ok, im going let you in on a secret… This post office is rarely used. You an just walk right in and and do Ur business like Ur in some small one light town (well, playa del rey is almost a one light town), but U know what I mean. They were out of «forever» stamps today, so I gave them a 4 star… I don’t think this is the norm though.

I’ve yet to have a GOOD Post Office experience, so that must be taken into consideration for ANY review of the USPS. I spent less time walking to this post office than I did waiting for the one and only postman to return to his desk from lunch. At least he was somewhat cheerful. But this teeny tiny itty bitty post office smells like it used to be a sad pet store… that suffocating stench of animal feces seems to be permanently leached into the grout of the laminate tile. and of course it appears to be more of a fire hazard than any kind of organized service. Budget cuts shouldn’t be an excuse any more for hideously executed post offices…

Another day another random lunch break. Today I was told the lunch break was at 1:30 as I walked in the door. This is absolutely unacceptable, I know if know other post office that opiates this way. If the guy was nice about it out wouldn’t be so bad, but he’s a jerk. I’m 0 for 4 now in trying to get something done at thos post office.

Worst post office I’ve ever been in. Other than the gaudy purple walls, expect to wait 30 – 40 minutes for poor service. Didn’t even have any forever stamps when I went in last.

I shipped out a package on the 6^th, expected delivery on the 13^th. According to tracking, it never left. I called to check and it rung out several times. Called the federal number and they’re launching an investigation.

I’ve had a Unilocal account since 2010 and, to date, I’ve left only 17 reviews (12 of which I did in a particularly judgy feverish haze). That I would take the time to write my 18^th review about a Post Office that I don’t even frequent, should tell you something about how terrible this place is.
My girlfriend and I went in to pick up a package that was supposed to be waiting for her (it’s not, it’s currently «somewhere» with no hope in sight… but that’s a whole other issue). My issue is with the customer service and the location. I assume just as a matter of course that we’ll never actually get the package, that’s a given, but you could at least screw me over politely instead of also making me feel terrible.
The lone employee, Steve, doesn’t want to be there. How do I know this? Because he says so, loudly, and in a variety of unprofessional ways. The most memorable of which during my 30 minutes there being: «This job is trying to turn me into an alcoholic,» said without a smile.
What’s more, the place is in absolute shambles. There are packages piled up all over the place in the cramped customer area (none of them my girlfriend’s, likely filled with expired food and unsent letters to Santa). There are no pens anywhere for the various shipping forms (most likely because they don’t want you to waste their ink on forms they’ll never use anyway). There’s clearly no pride of ownership here.
Lastly (and this is the detail that really drives the one-​star rating home), he never answers the phone. This is not hyperbole. My girlfriend called the office 4 times before we visited, and the phone rang and rang (there’s no answering machine). We assumed at the time that they just must be really busy. Not true. When we walked in, the phone, unsurprisingly, was ringing. And ringing. And ringing. Right next to Steve. Ringing. And ringing as he complained about how the Venice office keeps losing his packages. And ringing. He never answered it. He never even glanced at it. This is customer service? And the kicker, when he couldn’t find the package, or any information about where it might be, was that Steve suggested that we call him later if it’s still not delivered! You win this round, Steve.

This post office is tiny and there is only one employee. I always come between 1pm-​3pm and so far even if there is a line, it’s never unbearable.
Steve is the best! I’m so used to being treated like trash whenever I have to go to a post office that I’ve come to really dread it. But coming here is always a pleasure. He’s very nice and friendly. He’ll treat you real well. He prefers it if you use the words «affordable option» as opposed to «cheap option» which I thought was kind of funny.
He’s really not slow, we’re all just at the mercy of the the computer system. Don’t forget that you have the option to buy a scale and do everything online if you want to.

Reserve about 30 – 40 mins if you come after 4 … The line is long and there is ONE employee.

Privatize mail delivery. The USPS is the worst run bureaucracy ever. No stamps for purchase at a Post Office. Are you freaking kidding me? Epic fail.

Ok. We live in the neighborhood, for over 35 years and are very supportive of all businesses. But must admit the 1 star reviews are kind to the performance of this Post Office and it’s employee. Once again I tried to mail a small package this morning. As I was driving over there I wondered if once again it would be Break Time for the employee. Well what do you know… I arrived at 11:15 and as usual he was locking the door. He said «come back in15 minutes I’m taking a break «!
This happens constantly. The break time seems to vary. It is the worst customer service of any business I have encountered. At a time when the usps is having financial problems, losing market share to Fed ex And UPS I cannot understand how they tolerate such poor customer service. I don’t believe they read these reviews on Unilocal.If a supervisor read them I would hope they would make changes.
We own a small business and if we treated customers this way we wouldn’t deserve to be in business.
I suggest we need to send our feedback to the USPS Postmaster.

If i could give a negative star, I would. The only reason I go to this post office, is because this is where they deliver, when they can’t deliver to my house.
1. Terrible service especially with Steve. He is moody (nice to certain people, other times, very condescending and straight out mean). I have heard every possible excuse, don’t have enough people, don’t get supplies, grumble. grumble. I really understand that. I work in the corporate world. but most people going to the post office, do not want to feel like they are a psychiatrist.
2. Lines long and slow. Again people can generally tolerate if service is good. I usually turn around and leave if I see him.
3. Dirty, disorganized.
4. Parking terrible. Hard to get to.
Surprised this post office is still open.
