I’d given up on finding a good massage therapist in this area after over 10 previously recommended attempts at what were supposed to be great masseuses. I’ve been getting deep tissue therapeutic massage for my chronic pain for over 25 years and had to find a new body-​worker since moving to Walnut Creek 5 years ago.
Its rare to find someone with a matching high level skill set in anatomy, intuition, as well as great technique in a masseuse who can go 90 minutes full tilt. I’ve only found 2 who I’d rate 5 out of 5 in all three of those areas out of over 30 so-​called professional body workers, including the jokers who get a license after one class and work at places like massage envy or do super light weight posh «spa» massage and offer chocolate and strawberries.
What a joke, as well as the dozens more who don’t offer treats but will gladly take your money while you put your well being in there unqualified hands.
I’m in too much pain too often to take chances with anyone but the most gifted and knowledgeable massage therapists. If you want pricey posh, «spa/​Swedish» or the cheap cut rate foreign «Olga» or chain store massage, I wish you luck. If you actually want a healing massage, whether it be full body at her studio or chair massage at Whole Foods Market, Christina is IT !

Christina Mulhall currently works near the customer service counter at Whole Foods store in Walnut Creek. She offers chair massage at the very reasonable rate of $ 1 per minute (for up to 20 minutes). Trained in deep-​tissue massage, Christina applies remarkably strong yet sensitive pressure to tight muscles, tendons and ligaments, helping release tension and improve range of motion. While her pressing against my more tender areas causes some pain in the moment, I feel it’s worth enduring for the sake of more supple muscles and greater ease of motion soon afterwards. Also, Christina is always ready to ease up on her pressure if the customer finds it too uncomfortable. She has a friendly, courteous and professional demeanor.

I’ve been looking and looking for a good CMT. Had a few good experiences with different therapists but Christie takes the cake. Big time. I was highly impressed with her deep tissue work and more so with her knowledge.
