After taking my dogs for 12 years to another veterinary ophthalmologist, my dog had a crisis and that vet couldn’t see her in less than five days. I called CC Animal Eye Clinic, spoke to Dr Freedman, who was wonderful. She evaluated our situation over the phone and set us up to see Dr Flemming first thing the next morning.
He was calm, informative. He assessed the change in her eye and we discussed our options and our experience with her in the past few years while she was being closely followed by another veterinary ophthalmologist. I fired my prior vet that day and am thrilled to have a new down-​to-​earth, honest vet to work with for the best care of my dog.
We discussed the genetic issues with my dog’s breed, her specific situation, and the best plan for us and her. It was great. No scare tactics or pressuring to do surgery on my hospice dog. What a breath of fresh air!
Happy to look forward to returning to see Dr Fleming, even though it’s an hour out of my way. I so regret spending years with a veterinarian who pushed his own agenda rather than the best agenda for my dog.
This guy is no slacker either. Besides being a board certified veterinary ophthalmologist, he is also an attorney who has made some changes in veterinary law for the betterment of all of our pets.
