I wasn’t here to shoot pool, so I’m writing from the point of view of this being a bar.
It was still pretty early so there were only a couple of people in here with me. The bartender was cheerful and the other customers pleasant. As a bar, it’s pretty typical of what you’d expect of a downtown dive in a smaller town.
The building’s interior is stunning — the building is about a century old (perhaps older) and much of the interior is still the original. It’s very beautiful in a rustic way.
I’ve heard rumor that this is the oldest pool hall in Missouri and maybe even west of the Mississippi. Unfortunately I heard this rumor after my visit or I’d have asked the bartender about it.
