I called to place a to go order. But the background music too loud couldn’t hear anything. So i went down there to order. the service was really slow and my food was not hot at all. The waiters confused my order and had my food sitting on the counter for over 30 mins… i was not satisfying at all. shit need to change

This place should change their hours to 11:30−12pm since they say their kitchen is closed to cook fried chicken at 11:30pm… Why say ur open til 1am, If you won’t take an order at 11:50pm, makes no sense, terrible customer service and you are lazy and loosing my business. Change ur business name to dakgogi cos ur Korean, and not Mexican.

Best spicy Korean chicken wings I have ever had! I do not know what it is battered in but they are the most crispy chicken wings and the sauce is sweet and spicy at the same time! Their kimchi fried rice is also delicious! They serve beer so great place to socialize with friends accompanied with their great food!

I usually enjoy eating here but tonight we were shown that they only care for their own race. A busy night and tables needed to be cleaned, they asked us if we could wait outside(windy 61 degrees) while they cleaned and would call us, this didn’t bother us. Needless to say they took their time cleaning. Two other parties of two people(like us) came and tables were immediately cleaned and given tables before us. I guess my husband and I look too American-Asian. Oh well. Their prices are high which we always didn’t mind because we were happy with the food. Now we won’t be returning due to poor customer service and favoritism. Don’t come here if you don’t look the type.

We used to love this place, but tonight was a deal breaker. The restaurant was somewhat full but there were a few open tables that had to be cleaned. The server asked for us to wait outside, which was very cold, and that he would get us when a table is ready. Ten minutes later, we were still outside, yet three separate groups walked in during this time and got seats immediately. Those three groups looked to be some type of Asian, and seemed to get preferential treatment. We left and will make sure anyone we come into contact with knows not to come here as they don’t seem to want«our» business.

Since, I can’t eat meat for a month, I decided to call in and asked if Black Bean Noodles contains meat in it. I asked politely: «hello, I was wondering if Black Bean Noodle has meat in it». Guess what The«GUY» was like«WHAT?» I thought he didn’t hear it, I was about to repeat what I said. Finally he said, «Yes its does contains meat» In a voice that was very rude! He probably be like, she must been stupid for not knowing that. I’m sorry in advanced that I don’t know all the recipes, but you don’t have to say in a way that rude like that to your customers! I never leave mean comments, but this is for you who ever picked up the call!

It’s good to have korean snack food around this area. Their chicken & jja jang myun is better menu in here. The servers and staffs are great and very kind. But there’re a couple of things I really want them to improve. I wish their sweet and sour pork(tang soo yook) has less flavor of ginger and the Gim bap(seaweed roll) really needs to be improved… Kim bap is not a hard menu to make it delicious. I don’t understand how can that be that tasteless. so disappointed. And I wish they have old korean style of King don kat su.

I’ve eaten here twice and ordered food to go very recently. I personally really love the fried chicken! All 3 times ive gotten half and half(half soy and half spicy). The flavors are nice and the chicken is very moist which are definite pluses in my book! Also, the service is good too. The two times I ate in, our server was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed. She was also truthful when we asked if what we ordered would be enough for the number of people we had — but not in a «it won’t be enough food so you should definitely order more» kinda way. Other foods: Spicy seafood black bean noodle– very generous portions, not too spicy, not too oily feeling. Consistency of noodles = A. Glazed potato«small plate» — definitely NOT a small plate. Also, not what I used to think of as the Korean glazed potato side, but still oh, so good. Explanation of my expectation — it’s not the caramelized kind that is typically served as banchan at a kbbq place. This is lightly fried and has some kind of sweet soy glaze and almonds drizzled over it. Think chunks of potato with light sweet sauce. Chicken pancake — this is something that my mom really likes. To us, it’s almost like Chinese turnip cake :) quite the hearty«pancake»

Good Korean chicken place. The only one in the East Bay(that I know of) that offers Korean chicken, same caliber as BonChon(but ofcourse, they’re better) place is decent, hence the sticky icky floor. The wait to be seated is quich. However, the wait for the food is more than 20 minutes. Regardless, I like the place and will be coming back. I highly recommend this restaurant!

This is s great place when you shop late and want some noodles. .they are open late and don’t disappoint. If your with someone not into noodles, they have great chicken wings! The kimichi fried rice is spicy for me but not for my daughter. I eat it anyway because its delish hot worth the pain! The staff is always friendly and patient with questions you may ask, and will recommend dishes for you. The customer flow is good.

Like everyone else, I keep seeing this place for 2 ½ years when we head to the PHO place next door thinking it was some sort of a Mexican eatery until a friend told us after a Frozen Ice Skate show in Oakland to meet up here for some Korean food so we arrived at 10 pm. this place could probably seat around 36 – 40 people, the place was full but wait time is less than a few minutes for us, not overly noisy for a busy night(people keeps coming in, so seats are always filled between 10 – 11:30 pm), we ordered and received our food in less than 15 minutes. My chicken Porridge was hot, not salty, had some flavor on it, I could almost say it’s almost perfect! but the seaweed didn’t feel fresh(probably the way it was stored when bag was opened) but definitely worth a try next time my palate craves Korean

Wow. I am in love with this place. I love the ambiance, the food, and the drinks! Have you ever watched a Korean soap opera where the main character goes through a rough day and what she does to make herself feel better is stuff her face with chicken and beer? That is my life. And I am so happy I have a place to go to when the work days hit hard. They soy chicken was absolutely delicious. I was really happy we decided to try that. The pickled radish and daikon was a great pairing to the oily, crispy goodness. You can tell this chicken is cooked in clean oil. It has a freshness to it that you won’t find at a fast food restaurant. We also ordered the kimchi fried rice. Pretty good stuff! It came out really hot and the egg was cooked perfectly. To top off all of our food, we ordered a pitcher of Blue Moon. It came out with chilled cups. And I was one happy customer!

Checked out here based on the Unilocal reviews and found it was consistent with what people were saying. I ordered the kimchi fried rice with chicken. It had a nice kick to it but nothing over powering… I’m a wimp when it comes to spice! The portion was also HUGE. I had enough to make two meals out of it. Will check out again.

Came here with some friends(8) on a Saturday evening around 7. We were all really hungry and excited to try their Korean Fried Chicken. Fortunately there was a spot available for our party so there wasn’t a wait. We got our menus right away but it took a while before our order was taken. It looked like there was only one person waiting on tables, so don’t expect super fast service. We ordered a bunch of stuff and noticed that the portions are pretty big. Notable Foods: *Soy Sauce Fried Chicken: This was my favorite that I tried that night. The soy was slightly sweet on the batter, but the skin was still crunchy and the chicken was tender. I must have eaten 3 pieces and could have still eaten more. The fried chicken entrees come with two types of pickled daikon. Yum! *Half/Half Fried Chicken: We got half regular fried chicken(no sauce) and half spicy. I never tried the spicy, but the regular was good. Nothing wow about it though since most of the flavoring is in the sauce but still pretty good for basic fried chicken. *Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup: My husband & I got one order to share but I didn’t get to eat much of the soup because before I knew it, my husband had eaten it all. I guess it must be really good! *Fried Sweet Potatoes: Potato chunks fried and glazed in a sweet honey sauce. SOGOOD! The only downside is that they are so hot when they come out so be careful biting into those puppies! Overall, everything we had was pretty good. There were lots of other items on the menu that I’d want to try next time, which means I’ll definitely be back!

Finally decided to check this place out after always passing it to eat at the phở restaurant next door. The good thing is that they are open late until about 1 am but I mean it would have been better if the food was better and not as pricey. –Chicken pancakes were big in size but a little too greasy and oily. –Seafood soup with noodles were pretty good but still lacking a little flavor? –Fried chicken bowl with rice was just okay. Nothing to get all excited about. Could have made it at home that tasted much better. The only good thing about this place at the time our group came in is that they had happy hour going on and it was buy 2 beers and get 1 beer free so that was the only thing that worked in our favor! Service was okay. There was only 2 people working the tables so the customer service did lack a bit.

This review is based on the crispy chicken itself. I already told you guys about this places chicken but man it was even better when I had it last night. I decided to try the Super Spicy 10 Chicken Wing Challenge. Man, it was delicious! I wish I could have eaten it slower to enjoy it more ! Here is my vlog about it as well – The chicken came out SMOTHERED in the super spicy sauce. I took a good sniff and my nostrils opened up and I started salivating. Looked so good. I ended up beating the challenge in 3:25 and got my picture up on the wall! Look for me! My name is Eli !

Pollo Pollo is quite popular among my circle of friends. My buddy’s wife is a huge fan of their samgyetang(Korean ginseng chicken soup) and I really like their jjampong(spicy seafood noodle soup). Their delicious food and friendly service is what keep me going back time after time. I met my buddy and his wife for lunch there at noon today. There was only one table of customers when we entered the restaurant. That’s not really unusual since PP is located right at the border of Pacheco and Pleasant Hill(not a busy area). We were greeted and seated by the lone server. Water and menus were brought to us quickly. It didn’t take long for us to order the following: — Spicy jjampong(spicy seafood noodle soup, $ 10.50) — Samgyetang(Korean stuffed ginseng chicken stew, $ 16.50) — White chicken noodle soup($ 10.50) — Kimchi fried rice bowl($ 9.50) Before the food arrived, a trio of kimchi was brought to us(white watery daikon, pickled yellow daikon, and pickled jalapeño/celery/onion). They were refreshing. About 10 minutes later the food arrived. My spicy jjampong was as good as ever. Chewy noodles swam in a bowl of spicy broth topped with an abundant amount of seafood and vegetables. I tried a bite of the kimchi fried rice and thought it was a little on the bland side. I asked my friends about the samgyetang and white chicken noodle soup and they both liked it. The white chicken noodle soup was loaded with vegetables and chicken pieces. As for the samgyetang, it was made with a small cornish game hen and ginseng stuffed inside the cavity. My buddy’s wife is a samgyetang connoisseur and she definitely enjoyed it. The server was attentive. Even though she was the only one working, she seemed to take care of all her customers with ease(a few more customers came in after we did). The price can seem high to some people, but the quality of the food certainly makes up for it in my opinion. This place serves Korean style fried chicken, noodles, rice bowls, and a number of tapas. If you are in the area and having a craving for Korean food, Pollo Polo is certainly a good option. BONUSMATERIAL: — Located in a strip mall called County Square Shopping Center. Large parking lot on site. — They have started serving alcohol. — They have a eating challenge every Monday from 7−11pm. If you can eat 10 super spicy wings in 4 minutes, you win a free pint of beer and have your picture on the wall.

Unilocal is pretty down on this place(perhaps because it’s relatively expensive for the area), but it’s actually quite delicious and portions are substantial. The name is very confusing. I have passed this place probably more than 50 times, thinking it was a Mexican chicken restaurant. Instead, it’s a spice-oriented Korean place. I’ve gotten the kimchi rice bowl with chicken and have also tried the seafood bowl(it is vermicelli noodles in a spicy broth and a load of seafood, with a side of rice). Of the two, I prefer the seafood bowl; the seafood is extremely generous and the soup was pretty spicy. Also — if you try the fried chicken wings, be forewarned that they are HUGE. Not sure if they’re actually mutant chickens or like… eagle wings or something.

I have heard about Pollo Pollo for some time now, so I was particularly thrilled when hunger struck and we found ourselves in the vicinity. It is located just across from California Grand Casino and just a little down from the Target compound. We ordered the black bean noodles, grilled chicken bowl, and the half-half chicken(½ spicy chicken and ½ honey chicken). The noodles were good, although I wish the hard-boiled egg that came with it was cooked a little shorter as the yolk has that black coating already. It did not affect the taste, but they are a restaurant. It is not difficult to make the perfect hard-boiled egg. Looks enhance the experience of food. The grilled chicken was not something we were expecting but that is not a bad thing. We were expecting just a regular grilled chicken that maybe comes with Korean condiments. As it turned out, the grilled chicken was similar to the spicy pork plates I usually order at other Korean joints. It was delicious! The serving is not something I would call generous, but it more than hits the spot. The chicken which we were excited about had me torn. The spicy was nowhere near anything I would call spicy. It was more sweet to me, but after I let the disappointment go, the flavor made me think of chicken candy, and those two things are two of my favorite food words! The honey chicken, on the other hand, did not have much honey flavor until you get to the pieces of chicken in the bottom of the bowl that has been sitting on the honey. The flavor was good, too, if you are not expecting honey. The chicken was cooked perfectly, though. The skin was incredibly crispy and the meat incredibly moist. I was so willing to fall in love with Pollo Pollo, but it just did not happen. Paying $ 50 for three entrees(tax and tip included) is just not something I could justify for the alright flavors of the dishes and the alright service we received. Sadly, I cannot see myself going back here too much.
