We went there to eat a nice dinner. The only people there were not eating but only sitting at the bar. Now I know why! Service was Bad to the Bone. $ 17 for a Hamburger. Not Worth it! Way Way over Priced for what you get. We also ordered a small dinner salad. It was Horrible! My wife and I will never go there again. #1 Food was not cooked right. #2. Service was Poor. #3. Way, Way Over Priced for what you get. Three Strikes, You’re OUT !!! $ 17 for a Hamburger !! Really!

Good wine list. Good service. The ravoli was the only issue I had. It was too hard and and tasted like flour. The goat cheese stuffed peppers are just ok too skip those. The best is the happy hour tater tots and olive dip.

Great ambiance and wine selection. There is a bar area to hang out in while you wait for a table. There is usually always a wait. The Brussels sprouts are to die for! Some of the menu is a bit over priced. They do offer the most unique food in the area though.

I went to cork last night to celebrate my birthday, it was about 9of us. First time trying it out and will never go again. The food was good but the service is a different story. First off I ordered a bottle of champagne and they didn’t have what I was looking for so I asked for something similar. Our server brought it over and told me the price I said ok. She then kept repeating the price over and over again. I asked her again is it similar in taste to what I was looking for she said yes. I said ok. Then she says are you sure you want the $ 125 bottle because we have a cheaper bottle of champagne I asked her I want whichever one is similar in taste to what I asked for. She then said ok so you want me to open this $ 125 bottle I said the price is not an issue I’m worried about the TASTE!!!(I guess she didn’t think I could afford it). Throughout the whole evening our server seemed to be more annoyed that she had our table vs making sure we had a good time(I guess when the 20%gratuity is automatically included in the bill you don’t have to provide good service). I’m not sure how much we spent in there combined but my bill alone was $ 300 and it would of been more if the service was better. I was going to just let it go and not return but my sister mentioned something to a manger and she was very apologetic, she even gave me two splits to take home. So two stars because management was very nice and because the food was great.

Glad I finally stopped in and tried this place! Enjoyed the intimate atmosphere — perfect for a date night. The staff is also very friendly and the food was very good — recommend trying truffle tots… they were delicious.

Have been meaning to try this place for a long time! Finally went for brunch during a snowstorm since it is close to home. We were the first and only people to come in for the day(because of the snowstorm) and we were treated like royalty! The staff was excited to have a customer and were very friendly and fun. Excellent Bloody Mary bar and good coffee. We both ordered different variations of the Benedict which were good. The black been patty is a nice twist on traditional Benedict. We took a look at the dinner menu and look forward to going back for dinner sometime. It was a little pricey so we will probably aim for happy hour. Pro-tip: get the homemade cinnamon rolls for the table as a breakfast appetizer! Very good and plenty for 4 – 5 people to try.

At this place, the spelling of «CHEF» should be changed to «THESH*T.» The food was fantastic… fluke and steak were what I tried. But the steak with the tortellini atop smooth squash was just over the top. Some of the richest, most delectable flavors I’ve had in the Midwest. Easily tops establishments like Morton’s Steakhouse. The only reason to go there or some supposedly higher end(really, just higher priced) restaurant is if you want more entrée options. But the appetizer and entrée options Cork’s chef and crew provide are beyond amply satisfactory. I’m no high roller by any means, but I will definitely be looking forward to the next occasion to visit Cork. Fantastic experience, and the back rooms are definitely preferable. Relaxed rooms and lighting, great servers. Scott(our server) is a really genuine, sweet guy. The ONLY downside to this restaurant is that some of the dishes may not be amply portioned to stand alone. I’d note that appetizers are probably needed to accentuate one’s appetite if you’re pretty hungry. However, if you’re going to this restaurant, the primary reason IS for the flavors and presentation of high quality food, not bang for the buck, and as such, the food does seem fairly priced for the excellent gastronomy. *Appetizers recommended are the Brussels sprouts AND tater tots. Both must tries. =) All the best, and hats off to the team at Cork. Fantastic demonstration of a Michigan restaurant at its best.

Our solid, go to neighborhood restaurant. If you are looking for classic and cozy with a little something for everyone, this is your place. The servers generally recognize us and they do a great happy hour with discounted food and wine. The tots and brussles sprouts are like crack. If you order nothing else, get them! Service and seasonal items can be hit or miss… there are a couple employees that took 3 – 4 repeat visits to warm up, but overall they are helpful and friendly.

Had quite the pleasant little evening at Cork. I was surprised we didn’t have to wait longer to get a seat, as it was a bit crowded and we were sans reservations… but, we got the massive seater(hugest booth) in the back and proceeded even before we received our cocktails from the bar. We had the special of Prime Rib eye… it was well cooked(to our specifications) delicious, and the servings were rather large(another plus) — their cocktails are nicely crafted as well. Do try the goat cheese stuffed sweet pepper appetizer… wow…that’s a happy mouthful! Sure, a little pricey, but well worth it!

I went here with a friend and was immediately struck by how nice this place is on the inside. I love that it felt a bit like a classy wine joint mixed with the charm of an old house. The waiter, Sandy, was extremely attentive and helpful. She even ended up bringing us some truffle tatertots on the house, which was a huge bonus. The wine was delicious and as described on the menu, and the tatertots were a dressed up version of their lunchroom cousin with fresh herbs, zest, and truffle oil. I was pleasantly surprised with them. As a whole I really enjoyed myself and they have some good happy hour specials.

My second time at Cork. I was with about 10 other women and we had the event room for a small conference. Food, wine and service were all great! A decent gluten free menu, too. YOUMUSTORDERTHEBRUSSEL SPROUTS! I’ll be back!

I have only been here twice, but I have to say, my experience was completely different both times and it was due to the server I had. The first time I went, we ordered roasted Brussels sprouts and parmesan tater tots along with some cocktails and everything was great. However, our server was odd. It was like she didn’t have any manners. She was not very polite or friendly or very helpful with questions. I ordered a drink that was new to the menu(so I understand her not knowing much about it), but when she brought it, she would not leave until I tasted it and told her about it(instead of giving me time and then coming back). I mentioned that it smelled great(it was strawberry, balsamic, basil… something like that) and she grabbed the drink and smelled it without even asking, sticking her face right over my drink… very off-putting. The second time I went, we ordered the tater tots again and I ordered the roasted beet salad. It wasn’t what I expected(my fault, I skimmed the menu too quickly) so when it came out, I wasn’t a fan and only ate a small portion of it. Our server was very apologetic about it(which I let him know was not Cork’s fault, entirely mine, no big deal) but he still took the salad of off our bill, which I thought was unnecessary, but very nice. He was also very helpful with food and cocktail recommendations. So I would definitely like to go again, but I wonder if I can make a server suggestion without seeming rude…

This place has a great location on Woodward. It’s sign is so appealing everytime I pass by this place, and I pass this place a lot. My husband and I finaly had time to go out on a Tuesday night. What was great about today is Mondays and Tuesdays aren’t a big busy night for restaurants and that’s how we prefer it. Since we prefera quieter night where we don’t have to vie for a seat we also get happy hour all night. This includes Mondays too! There are select appetizers and drinks that are part of the special. Other nights happy hour is only at a set time. I forget our servers name, I’m thinking Scott maybe, but he was a very amiable server. He wasn’t stuffy and offered great recommendations and comments throughout the night. When you walk in you get a great ambiance it looks like a house that was converted into a restaurant. It was nice because you still get that contemporary modern homey feel. Anywho on to the food. We ordered the curried caulifower soup, the fried chickpeas, truffle tater tots, korean tacos, grilled cheese, and the salmon as a main. Let me just say that 90% of our food was off of the happy hour menu and boy were we so happy at the selection they have. Everything tasted great. The curried cauliflower soup was really tasty, but it the curry may have been a little overpowering the cauliflower(which has a good taste all on its own). I also didn’t care about the apple in it. I know they were trying to add a little texture and sweetness into the dish, but I think maybe some toasted almonds or some type of nut would have been preferable. The fried chickpeas and the truffle tater tots are such a great starter for sharing or if your at the bar. I don’t normally like chickpeas, but now that I’ve had them fried it is my definite preferred way to consume these. The tater tots also came with an aioli, but was unnecessary because they tots can hold their own. We used the aioli on the chickpeas every so often instead. The korean tacos were also another palette pleaser. The only thing was that they tortilla got really soggy on the middle because of the heat and excess liquid from the toppings. Every bite I took things fell out of the taco. I resorted to eating it with a fork and knife. The grilled cheese that my hubby had as his main was nothing special. But we are partial to this because our caterer at our wedding made the best grilled cheese and tomato bisque we’ve ever had in our life. So, hard to beat that. Then for my main, the salmon. What a great presentation. They had wild rice i believe that was crispy to compliment that soft texture of the fish. The salmon also had the skin on and had a crispy element to it also. The vegetables were cooked nicely although I think that there were some choice vegetables that could have been left out(ie celery) because it’s too mundane to have in a «stir fry» especially at a restaurant. They also had some dashi on the side which you could poor as much or little as you’d like to add to the already flavorfull dish. We opted out of dessert this time, but did have a crème brûlée beer and a their take on a manhatten. Both drinks were so tasty. If you don’t like ordinary drinks I would recommend these. Overall great place and would love to continue to frequent this establishment.

This is one of my new local favorites. Any place that has the words«wine» and«pub» in its name, I’m sure to like. This is one of those places that I could go to and literally just eat off of the appetizer menu. Fried brussels sprouts, crispy chickpeas, olives, and tater tots with truffle oil… What more could you need? I’ve been here a few times. I’ve had the scallops and the beef. Both were really good although the scallops were, hands down, my favorite. Wash that down with a glass of Sexual Chocolate Zinfandel and you’ll be good to go! The parking lot is pretty small but they offer valet. That’s always a plus. Or, you can opt for street parking along some of the streets in the surrounding neighborhoods. Overall they really have a great menu with amazing flavors. The chef is doing some great work there! This place is definitely worth a visit

A friend from out of town was staying downtown Detroit and I live on the west side so I thought this place would be a good in between. We came for happy hour on a weekday. I arrived first and came in the side door, which I thought was the main door. It led me into a dining area that seems like it is used for big parties. A server was meandering about and I said something to the effect of «I’m not sure I came in the correct door but I’d like a table». She yells back«well, it was unlocked, wasn’t it?» It just seemed unnecessary for her to say that. I chose a table and had a seat. The waiter came over and I chose a glass of the Justin Cabernet. I dislike how they offer a special on some wines for happy hour but they don’t tell you which ones. That’s super useful. Their wine list is extensive but overall pricey. I don’t think there are any glasses under $ 10. I think they are really trying to push you to buy a bottle but honestly, that’s just not feasible unless you have a leisurely evening to enjoy with a friend/partner. My glass was $ 14 a pop. I ordered the cheese and meat plate. It was a bit sad honestly. I love charcuterie but this was kind of amateur in nature. There were three slices of cheese, three types of meat, some mustard with 2 tiny pickles, and some what seemed to taste exactly like Smuckers grape jelly. The«bread» was paper thin rosemary crackers. They were very powdery too so I had powder all over me. The meat was good, the prosciutto was delicious. The cheeses were hit and miss. Cheese one and three tasted exactly the same. Cheese two was a goat cheese but it had a very pungent after taste because of the rind. I barely ate any of it. The server didn’t even know what these cheeses were which I thought was a bit unprofessional. I would have liked more variety of cheese and bread. My friend ordered the Cobb salad and they made it incorrectly. She wanted an ingredient left off and instead of taking it back to fix it, the waiter said«oh, I’ll get you a spoon to scoop it off». What?! If you’re charging $ 15 for a freaking salad you better make it right. Overall, they are trying too hard. Get better food and better service before you charge such high prices.

I have always had a good experience when I come to Cork. The cocktails are great. My favorite thing about coming here. Each one is tasty! I wish the happy hour was a little more generous, but it has not stopped me from coming. Their chef is amazing everything I have tried has tasted good, and I have taken risks with their menu. My only complaint would be that they don’t change it so much! I have not tried the brunch yet.

We had a girl’s brunch here. We made a reservation, though they were not busy on that Sunday afternoon. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive, managed all of our requests and had a good sense of humor. We had a picky eater in our group and he was able to take care of her. Our group enjoyed the mimosas and made good use of the bloody mary bar. They had options for drink toppings as well as level of spiceness for the mix. I had the wild mushroom omelet, which I thought it was good but a bit salty. I also would have liked the egg to be more light and fluffy. I have had Café Muse’s version, which I thought it was better. I tried my friend’s veggie benedict and it was awesome. The sauce was creamy and the black bean cake was meaty and flavorful. If I go back I would skip the omelets and order one of the bendicts.

I was glad that my friend suggested this restaurant as it has long been on my list of places to try. On a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was not too busy — which was great since the very small parking lot was only half full. No valet parking — bonus. Nicely appointed, the restaurant offers a comfortable, quiet ambiance, great for two friends catching up. I was impressed by the creative menu and flavor combinations; there were several items that I considered before selecting the Burrata cheese appetizer. It featured soft Burrata cheese, lightly salted, with the consistency of whipped cream cheese. A refreshing salad and warm, grilled bread accompanied the cheese spread. Next, I had the duck breast which seemed slightly undercooked. Better executed were the other elements of the dish: field greens with vinaigrette on a thin phyllo plank and fried duck gyoza. Tender asparagus and a strawberry sauce complemented the meal. Overall, I liked the composition and tastes. It was a good visit and I look forward to future ones. Service was fine.
