CLOSED — So Sad!!! It was a great place with great stuff, and a great guy running the store. I stopped by the other day and the store is empty. I wore my black velvet dinner jacket with purple lining to NYE dinner last night in honor of Bennie — plus I wanted to look good ;). If anyone knows where Bennie is, drop me a message.

Just walking down the street in Pleasanton today and saw some jewelry in the window that drew me in. A very nice gentleman greeting my friend and I «Bennie» the owner. Quite friendly, answered some questions on the jewelry. Then we looked around the store, lots of Mens and some women’s clothing with a European flair. The store had lots of enclosed areas with interesting things like shoes and purses, and prints and posters from concerts from the past(winterland) Nice music playing, great little store. So then he tells us to go down the hall and open the back door and check it out… well…he has this awesome court yard in the back. Just beautiful for garden parties, weddings… you name it. Brick patio, enclosed and personal. One wall had a scene painted that looked like Europe, would make a perfect summer evening affair. He rents that out too! Wow impressive, plus he’s just a fascinating guy to chat with while looking at all the beautiful things. I should have taken a picture of the courtyard just amazing hidden gem.

Face it. You’re not a 23 year old hipster anymore. Your days of wearing baggy pants underneath three inches of boxers are long past, and the whole skinny jean thing just isn’t gonna work with your butt. Sounds like it’s time to face the fact that you are now a grown up and might need to look the part. Bennie & Acc’sentials to the rescue! Walk into his store with an open mind and Bennie will have you walking out looking totally styled out. He knows the clothes that fit YOUR body, the colors that look good on YOU, and the styles that will always wear well without making you look like a retirement candidate. His selection isn’t huge, but it all works. It’s like he sorted through all of the crap at Nordstrom and Saks, and hand picked the good stuff. Don’t come in expecting Mervyn’s pricing, but it’s all pretty reasonable for the quality. You WILL get what you pay for, and it’s gonna look great. And if you ask nicely, Bennie is happy to open your eyes to some clothing and styles that you would have never considered. He’s all about wild colors that somehow really work. Conservative isn’t the name of the game here, but if that’s what you want, you can get that too. I’ve been making the drive to Acc’sentials from San Francisco for a couple of years now for the great clothing & service and have lots of compliments on my clothing to show for it.

Bennie’s running the front now and the new store is awesome. Bennie’s got a great selection of upscale men’s wear and just started selling great women’s stuff. They have English Laundry(Just like Sak’s!) and other designers that I can neither spell or pronounce. Not everything is expensive either. I walked away with a sexy new suit that makes people fall in love with me wherever I wear it. The price was cheaper than just about any department store and it had twice the sexiness of those other brands.
