David Coltrin, DDS

Went to Dr. Coltrin because of the great reviews here on Unilocal,and was unpleasantly surprised. I had no problem making an appointment for a cleaning, but they require you to talk to the doctor himself for 45 minutes before you can get your teeth cleaned. Let’s just say this guy loves to talk (a little too much) and teach you about teeth. He continued to ‘show’ me proper brushing technique by shoving the toothbrush into my gums until they bled (and I have good oral hygiene), it hurt so badly that the spots he demonstrated on are still swollen 4 days later. Lets just say I will not be going back for this reason. The rest of the staff was super friendly and the hygienist did a good job which is why I didn’t give them only one star.

Dentists don’t get any better than this. A great guy who does great work!

I think he is the best dentist around Pleasanton. Never goes after your money and his staff are great too!

Just left from another cleaning appointment and I am so happy with the consistant extra-​ordinary care from Dr. Coltrin and his staff. Can’t say enough good things about all of them.

I love Dr. Coltrin. My hubby hates the getting dental work done, but Dr. Coltrin and team make my hubby and I feel like we are being well taken care of. My husband required major work. Dr. Coltrin was able to give my husband crowns — instead of all root canals as suggested by the first money hungry dentist that we went to first. That $aved us thou$and$.
The office is not shiny and new, but the great thing is that you aren’t paying for a high rent district. You are paying for solid expert advice and dentistry.

There is no question that Dr. Coltrin has excellent mechanical skills — his hands hardly exhibit any tremor as he works. Unfortunately, in the time that I was his patient, he did not seem to be able to retain a good hygienist for his office, and that’s why I eventually left. Also Dr. Coltrin tended to have something of a «My way or the highway» approach to dealing with me when I questioned some of his recommendations. Nevertheless, he is very skillful, and the crowns and fillings he did for me were flawless.
