Meh. Meh. Meh. After initially hitting up the Las Vegas KF Tea, and then after going to the SD Convoy KF tea, both of which were great, on our recent trip up, we decided to go to the Pleasonton Kung Fu Tea! I was looking really forward to trying the drinks here because I had gotten great drinks in the other places. But no. The biggest complaint here is that their boba here is mushy. It’s not good at all. While at the other locations, their boba held their ground. The drinks here .idk, they feel different from the other Kung Fu Tea. I ordered the white gourd tea(winter melon) which tasted just alright this time. :/It’s not overtly sweet but has that subtle flavor to it. Their mango slush with boba– yeah no. Not getting that next time. The boba is supposed to give OFF honey during the 2 hour timeframe so that it can accentuate your drink and give it a little bit more sweetness. Or it can fail miserably and sit down there. Iono. Their workers… they kinda seem disinterested. It took a while for one person to come to the front(which was okay b/c we didn’t know what to get) but also assumed that the customer knew what they wanted. Never got asked«Is this your first time here» as well, because that would be a great tip off to things customers don’t know about, ie «you can do halves of 2 toppings»(I know other KFTs do this, but not this one). Also you get a free medium drink with a large drink purchase(which in my opinion, is a great check in offer). tl;dr If you come from a location w/awesome KFT, this one may or may not hit your expectations, depending on what you get. ALSO if you are trying KF Tea for the first time, tell them and maybe they’ll help you and guide you to a final decision. Inside 99 Ranch.

I usually come here to grab a drink when I am in need of groceries from 99 Ranch. Service is usually great but this time around it wasn’t so. I’m giving this place 2 stars because of service and how I was treated. The cashier/barista gave me an attitude apron ordering. I simply just asked for a regular size Earl Grey Milk Tea and Mango Slush with pearls. The dude was too busy texting on his phone oppose to taking orders and making the drinks. I stood there waiting 15 minutes for my drinks when there was no other order besides mines. Other than that the drinks are always delicious.

Just when I thought things weren’t going my way. I went to bubble tree at 11:30 am and their boba wasn’t ready.(I had groceries in a warm car, so I had to walk away) I went to Westea sometime after 4:00 and they were out of boba. They let me sample some slimy white pearl– so sweet that it was like melted gelatin sugar. So I had to walk away. Thanks to my fellow Unilocalers, I realized that the next tea place was just steps away. I headed on in to Ranch 99, veered to the right, and there was the spot. After two strikes, I’m craving black milk tea and Boba so badly that I wanted to order a five gallon bucket! The young man who worked there was staring at his phone and didn’t see me. When he did notice me, he was apologetic and super nice. This tea was SO delicious, really wonderful I could taste great tea flavor with almost hints of lemon, I really enjoyed it. Maybe not a bucket, but I do wish they could super size that bad boy! I asked for only 25% sweet and very little ice. My bad, it wasn’t cold enough. So next time I’ll go for more ice. The only thing I would change about this place is that there menu is a gigantic chalkboard, with ALL kinds of faded chalk writing on it. It was a little much for my eyes. There is a lot happening, and it’s a lot take in. I am happy to have found this place and I know where to get my boba fix from now on. Thanks Unilocal. Ps now I want to explore the other corners of that Ranch 99 store. Also… I’ve just read another Unilocaler’s mention of an additional menu that was on a flat screen. I guess I was blind due to «boba deficiency» today. I’ll most definitely wear some glasses and look for the better menu option. :)

This place started with good quality drinks and services. Now they started to hire some very inexperienced people and some of the good drinks aren’t even available… There’s another boba/tea place just opened in the same plaza. I will go there going forward

Oh yum! This boba shop is hidden in the 99 ranch supermarket! When you find it, you won’t regret it! I got the classic boba milk tea and it was very frothy, creamy and sweet– exactly how I love my milk tea drinks! The taste stayed consistent till the end, it didn’t taste watered down when the ice melted at all. I got a large, I wish they had a bigger size :) :) I just found my new boba stop before I take the 5 south all the way down to LA!

(Late Post) Whoa! Hella rude dude working tonight(4÷29÷2016) My daughter was is not feeling well and her only request to make her feel better was a strawberry smoothie with tapioca. We had a few options, but we decided to come here. I asked the employee if the strawberry smoothie was made with fresh strawberries and a couple other questions and every answer was«no» with an attitude! No smile, flat affect. I was shocked! Really…come on dude. Too bad cause the last time I was here the owner(think he was) was super nice and that’s why I came back. Don’t know about next time.

Kung Fu Tea failed to crack Team Harv’s tea rotation. My brother and I decided to try KFT last night after our dinner at Koi Palace Express in Dublin. KFT is located inside the Pleasanton 99 Ranch, right next to the bakery section. It was pretty quiet when we got there at around 8:00pm. The lone attendant was busy playing with his cell phone and did not acknowledge our presence for the longest time. There were two menus on display(one on a flat screen TV and the other on a big chalk board). A small red couch was available for those who want to sit and hang out. We ordered an oolong milk tea with boba and a fresh taro milk with boba. The attendant told us they ran out of boba. I thought that was a bad business practice on their part. I get that it was near closing time, but having a little extra cooked boba on hand is not going to bankrupt the place! Because of that, we changed our order to oolong milk tea with herbal jelly(customized to 30% sweet and less ice) and fresh taro milk with no toppings. As I watched the attendant make our drinks, I noticed powder was used. Personally, I am not a fan of powdered drinks since powder tends to use sweetness to cover up the tea taste(or the lack of). My suspicion was confirmed after I tried my drink. Even at 30% sweetness, it was way too sweet. The taste of oolong tea was nowhere to be found in the drink. I asked my brother about his drink and he «politely» told me he’s had better(expletives excluded). Both drinks cost a total of $ 9.75. Due to the lack of customer service and subpar drinks, I believe a 2-star rating is fair. With more options now available in the Tri-Valley area, I(and definitely my brother) will not be returning.

Kung Fu Tea is located inside 99 Ranch, so don’t waste your time circling around the plaza looking for it. I’ll start off with saying that the lady who helped me at the counter was extremely rude. I asked to sample the milk tea with black tea and she gave me the most disgusted look, then proceeded to speak in Chinese when she obviously speaks English, and the guy in the back came up and made my sample. The milk tea was actually very good. I like my milk teas on the creamier side, so it was perfect. Those of you who don’t like too much sweetness can adjust it to your liking. I live in Sunnyvale, and this place was HELLA far just for boba, but I’m glad my drink was good. otherwise I would’ve been very disappointed. I hope they open one closer to where I live, bc it would prob be my go to boba spot.

What a great place for boba! Kung Fun Tea is a nice addition to the 99 ranch as well as the rest of the area. This boba shop has a number of popular items, from the slush to the oolong. I got the oolong and I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the flavor! It’s been a while since I had tea this good. Kung Fu Tea also has macarons as well and I’m definitely going to check those out in the future. Drink well and prosper,

Kung Fu Tea is actually inside 99 Ranch! I didn’t know, and I spent a few minutes circling around the parking lot! I ordered the Kung Fu Matcha. The flavor was good! It definitely doesn’t taste like it’s just sugar and water. You can also adjust the sugar and ice level too! I want to try the taro milk tea next time.

This Kung fu tea is inside the Ranch 99 market. I love Kung Fu Tea in my hometown of Atlanta. I’m actually addicted to it. I was excited to see a Kung Fu Tea near where I was staying in Pleasanton. I got my favorite, oolong milk tea. The boba was soft and mushy. I asked for less ice, but they gave me no ice. So the tea was slightly cool, not cold like i wanted it. Also, I asked for little sugar but it was not sweet at all. I think they put no sugar. The tea flavor was okay though. It seems like they got that right. This location is okay. I was very disappointed that it wasn’t the same as the one in Atlanta. I thought the franchise had strict quality guidelines. But I guess each state’s franchises have their own version of their teas. If you like your Kung Fu Teas subtler in their sweetness and want mushy bobas, you should come here.

I loved Kung Fu Tea when I first visited an establishment in Las Vegas. It was also the first time I’ve heard of this place. It was so good that when I found out there was one nearby I literally jumped for joy and headed straight there. It’s inside Ranch 99 so finding it was a bit of a hassle. But no matter! I needed to go grocery shopping anyway. I ordered the white gourd milk tea which is my go to since Vegas and it was just as I had remembered it. The second time I went, it didn’t taste as sweet but still okay. This most recent time I ordered the matcha milk tea hot. I was and still am SO disappointed. As compared to the Vegas establishment, I think this location and pre-makes some of their drinks which was apparent when I ordered the matcha. Which usually I don’t mind but the flavor was lacking as compared with to Sharetea matcha milk tea. Also, when I ask for hot, I mean hot. The person who made my drink gave it to me lukewarm. Borderline room temperature. I would have turned around and asked to heat it up more but my 12 page paper was beckoning me to finish it. All in all, not bad. But not great. Sharetea is my new favorite and I hope they open one in the area soon.

I love extremely creamy milk teas with medium amount of sweetness — Kung Fu truly delivered on that! I recommend both the Jasmine Milk Tea as well as the Taro Milk Tea here. Perfect texture and perfect sugar level. Happy Drinking, Unilocalers!

I am not a boba connoisseur but Kung Fu Tea located in Ranch 99 in Pleasanton is better then the 3 other options in the same center. It’s only a small counter with an odd couch set up. There are plenty of drink flavors but what I like best about the drinks is that you can choose the level of sweetness. Most places the drinks are way too sweet for me. They have other adds such as boba and jellies. The service is OK, it’s only a boba tea counter.

Not going lie, the tea was pretty kickin’. I’ll just leave that there… Kung Fu Tea is definitely by far my boba spot, taste wise for 4 main reasons. 1) They use fresh ingredients. Like fresh. i.e. Fresh Taro, grapefruit, etc. If I order let’s say a Grapefruit Green Tea. Guess what? They only put in tea, sweetener, and fresh grapefruit. 2) The sweetness level is spot on. If I ask for half sweet, it’s going to taste half sweet. So on and so on. Yea I know that sweetness is a personal preference, hence why this is my review. 3) The Asian guy is a good dude. Whenever I go in and order something crazy he always guides me to a drinkable drink. He understands how each drinks are made and actually cares if I will enjoy it or not. Because without him I’d have gotten a 20% sugar level on my fresh taro milk tea numerous times. Which taste buds translates to «just go eat a taro root». 4) Their cool tea shaking machine! Yes, all it does is shakes. So what? I like what I like. Their menu is extensive, but everything taste spot on. My top 5DOA list has got to be: 1) Grapefruit Green Tea 2) Fresh Taro Milk Tea. 3, 4, 5) Will think of those later.

Discovered this place in Ranch 99 one day as I shopped. Like the little store front location with attractive macaroons and desserts displayed in glass cases. Tried their black milk tea and found a new fave boba tea place. Hope to return here with more drink orders in the future.

My friend and I ordered the Melon Milk Tea and the Matcha Milk Tea. First the messed up on my order and gave me a Mango Milk Tea instead of Melon which was fine since they let me keep the Mango. When I tasted my drink it was disgusting. It had no flavor and it tasted like straight up powder.

This is a quality tea joint INSIDE of Ranch 99. We drove around looking for the place before we called and found that out. They’re near the bakery area. I wish there were good tea places inside of all super markets. I tried white gourd tea for the first time. It was so good and refreshing.

I don’t really think of Pleasanton when searching for milk tea as I do Fremont/Milpitas/SJ, but I’m glad to have discovered this hidden gem inside Ranch 99! I ordered a fresh taro milk tea w/red bean. The drink was made just right and not too sweet. They also use REAL taro bits, which blended perfectly with the red bean add-on. My only complaint would be it had a hint of artificial taro taste. CA$HH only for totals under $ 10!
