We came in for dinner tonight and watched the Warriors win. It was nice to have the game on. We had a great server who was very attentive. We enjoyed our burgers and outstanding onion rings. The beer is typically okay! What we did not enjoy was the veggie burrito. We realize that it is not a Mexican restaurant, but tossing romaine lettuce, a few beans(yes, a few), jalapeños and mushrooms with no type of sauce does not work. Apparently I should have read more closely, but it don’t believe it mentioned I would be receiving an extremely dry, bland«burrito.» Avoid this if you go in.

Food was great but Kayla our waitress was awesome! We had the beer battered sampler, margaritas and some home made beer! Defiantly will be coming back. Music was fun! Once the band got here it was happening! I will be back!!!

I went in optimistic and while I think this could be a pretty good spot, it failed to deliver on several fronts. First of all, there is only an archway between this place and where I thought I was — 828 bites and brews. While our server was pleasant and eager she was also pretty clueless. When you feature your local brews and you have two on special, it’s just not cool to know what those two are. Not being able to describe the two beers just adds insult to injury. Getting the wrong appetizer order in just sealed the deal. Was this the worst service I’ve had? By no means — a good attitude and desire to sort things out goes a long way. Perhaps this was one of the first days for our server and things will get better. The Brew? Pretty good but by no means great. We each had one of the specials and thought the flavor profile was a bit odd. For $ 2.50 each, it was an easy decision to give it a try. Chips and Salsa — fairly standard. Burger Selection — pretty varied — there were other things I would also enjoy trying — a good selection of salads, sandwiches and apps. I had the Chipotle Burger — I was flavorful and on the hot side, something I was expecting. I think it was cooked more than medium tho. My friend had the«Stack Burger» — and had no problem consuming the entire half lb sandwich.(I only ate half and would have really appreciated an option for a smaller burger — more because I hate wasting food than for the cost. When I’m on the road, taking home the leftovers just isn’t an option.) They have a live performance area and there was sort of /not really ‘/but then again for a little bit kind of a performer on this Wednesday night. I wasn’t impressed. I would still have ended up with at least 3 stars until I visited the men’s room — really in disrepair… Seriously folks, you just gotta cover the basics — trained staff, good food, great beers and reasonably good facilities. The food is the only part of my experience that I think deserves more than three stars and the beer is probably 3 but the rest drags everything down. Like another reviewer, I was surprised to see a «bar within a bar» — it’s really two separate establishments — different«vibes», different menus, one has specialty brews and an extensive burger-and-sandwich menu the other is a full bar with sort of light food.

I use to come here all the time with my best friend years ago. I went again tonight with my family, and it brought back amazing memories! The burgers were amazing back then, and they are amazing now! Comfortable place, outstanding service, and food that takes me back to the good ol’ days :) 5 stars :)

We went for a late lunch on a Thursday and were the only ones there which was nice for us. I don’t usually get hamburgers but the Guinness Burger with Cajun Fries just called to me. It was one of the best burgers I’ve had. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare for me and the fries were just awesome. My husband got the nachos with beef and he couldn’t finish them. They weren’t the typical nachos of a pile of chips with a little bit of toppings. These nachos had toppings on every chip. And their beer was awesome too. I got the Oatmeal Stout and he got the IPA. We ended up taking home a growler of the Stout. This is a place we will come back to.

Okay so I’m in the first 2 minutes of eating my Gouda and cheddar with bacon burger cooked medium, and damn this burger is sooo freakin good!!! I’m having it with a Red Leaf Winter Release, perfect! Our bartender, Cody, is a cool guy, he gave us some great recommendations! Definitely coming back with friends!

We went to Pleasanton mainly to see a Steely Dan/Chicago tribute band that had been recommended to us and happened to be playing at Main St. Brewery on Friday night. After calling the bar a few days before to find out the details of the setup whoever answered the phone was polite and helpful and let us know that if we wanted to get seated we should get there about an hour before the band started. Luckily we got two seats at the bar and had dinner before the show. Both of the bartenders were in costume(Oct. 30th) and both were super nice. Cody was funny but still professional. Unfortunately we did not get the name of the female bartender, but she was very attentive and polite. Once the band started it got very crowded but the bartenders did their best to keep up with all the drinks and we never had to wait for more than a few minutes to get what we wanted. Since we were making it a mini-vacation for the weekend, we decided to go back to Main Street for their«Halloween Bash» and a different band the following night. Once again it was the same staff at the bar, this time dressed up in an Alice in Wonderland theme. We were lucky to get seats at the bar again and Cody recognized us and made us feel very welcome. The entire staff was working hard and remained professional even when a few drunks were being rude to them. The food was typical«bar food» and was basically what we would expect. Good but not gourmet. All in all we really enjoyed both nights at Main Street. For the most part the crowd was fun and the bands were good. We appreciated the bartenders being welcoming and making us feel like«regulars» even though we were«out of towners». If we lived in Pleasanton I’m sure Main Street Brewery would be one of our regular weekend stops. We will definitely be back when there is a band we want to see again! Note to owner: Fleetwood Mask is a great tribute band also!

Went on a early Saturday evening, wasn’t very busy plenty of seating. Me and my friends sat at the bar. There was an older lady working the bar but we got there just right before a shift change so she didn’t help us for very long. The bartender that mainly helped us was named Cody. Cody was very enjoyable and outgoing. He made great recommendations towards beer and food. He was also very tentative and made sure our glasses never went empty. This place had live music coming on but we didn’t stay around long enough. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy good beer and food.

I must have gotten lucky coming here, according the the other reviewers. The food was good, and the beer my husband had he absolutely raved about. My kids had kid meals, good portions and priced well. I had the quesadilla combo which was stuffed with a ton of ingredients and had great flavor. It came with salad a f fries for 11.99 which I felt was a fair price. My husband had a burger and said it was really tasty. It wasn’t the cleanest place nor was it the dirtiest. The server was… ok. He seemed overwhelmed and I’m not 100% sure I believe what he told us about my husband’s beer order(husband ordered one thing but the bill said something different). We are pretty particular about food and have fairly high standards but have been consistently been disappointed with family dining in Pleasanton. So the fact that the food was good and not outrageously priced, and the beer was good, well I guess we will keep eating there until things go south. But I hope they don’t!

WELP the owner is still an CHEAPASSHOLE !!! Still charging $ 2.00 for TAPWATER. It doesn’t matter if your a paying customer or not. This is beyond tacky. Totally against the law. I’m turning this place in. Go across the st to Handles where the food and music is just as good and the water is FREE!!!

This bar was a more dive-bar type of place, but definitely well worth it. When I was in town for 10 days, we came here twice for drinks, and one of the times ordered an appetizer. The bartender was the same both times, and she was fabulous! Very personable and friendly, and definitely helpful with the beer and drink selections. She made me a hurricane that was amazing and HUGE. I highly recommend ordering one if you are there. We also ordered the Baja carnitas nachos, and they were out of this world! The place may not look like much when you walk in, but the friendliness of the workers and patrons certainly bring it up a notch. I did not try any other food menu items, but I will vouch for those heavenly nachos, as well as the drinks. Definitely worth a stop in!

Do I have to actually put a star? This place is a joke. We ordered beers to start and asked for a sample and brought a full size and charged us. Also EVERYSINGLEBEER we ordered was flat and had no taste. The Angry Orchards that were ordered were most definitely Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider, there was no alcohol in it at all. We tried to to cancel the last 2 beers we ordered(ordered 5 total, 3 to start and 2 more friends showed up) and were charged for them even though they never showed up to the table. The manager on duty was rude and got in my fiancé’s face and tried to «bully» him. The server was spineless and didn’t stand up for our group about the canceled beers. This was a first and a last for me and my fiancé and we are new to the area. GOODJOBMAINSTREETBREWERY. Way to «serve» what you advertise.

Most Friday nights you will find me at this bar along with a meet up group of anywhere between 20 and 50 people. They have live bands starting at 9pm. I will usually get there early to grab some dinner. The fish and chips are the best in the area. It is unfortunate that the owner of this bar is such a JERK! He does not appreciate loyal customers and on many occasions has treated me badly. My first encounter with him was when I went into the ladies room and found the toilet clogged(The bathrooms are usually disgusting). When I saw the toilet was clogged I quickly turned around to walk out as the owner was walking in and he assumed it was me that clogged the toilet and got extremely rude and angry. He pulled the door open fast and hard and because I had my hand on the door knob, I almost fell but caught myself. He proceeded to stare me down as if he was my father scolding me. I left the bar at this point. My next encounter was on a Sunday afternoon when my husband and I went in for a cocktail. He seemed as though he hated his job and that it was an inconvenience for him to make me a Bloody Mary. I should have at that point made a decision not to go back there but I didn’t. I went there last night on what was the 20 month anniversary of the death of my daughter that was killed by a drunk driver. I was talking with someone that knew about my daughter and I began to cry and went outside to gather myself. After I wiped my tears and decided to go back in, I was told by a bouncer that I would not be allowed back in until I sat and drank some water and sobered up. I was not drunk, nor was I even asked how much I had to drink or if I was ok. I had been there for about 2 hours and I had one shot and a beer that was almost gone. The bouncer felt bad when a friend came out looking for me and told him what was going on and that I was not drunk, just sad. I decided to approach the owner because I didn’t wasn’t him thinking that I was drunk. He was not very receptive to me and once again rude. He did say he was sorry about my daughter but that was about the extent of his«kindness». He didn’t even let me finish talking to him before he walked away from me. There were a few other occasions where I saw him being rude to other customers but I won’t get into any of that. I am a kind person with a big heart and I expect to be treated in a respectful manner when I am a paying customer. I always take very good care of the wait staff and tip way over the recommended amount and the bartenders there know me because of this and they always thank me for taking care of them. I enjoy most of the wait staff and most times the band are good but I don’t know that I will be going back to Main Street Brewery anytime soon. I will share this with the meet up group and maybe re-evaluate where we meet-up!

This brewery is located right on the cutest street with $$$ Unilocal rated restaurants. Lucky for us(Boyfriend and I), this place is $$. Parking on the street was relatively easy and the place was not too crowded. The interior isn’t hip and trendy, but comfortable and casual with outdated sky-blue painted walls adorned with quirky posters and signs. The place is pretty spacious with a platform near the front of the restaurant, probably for bands to perform live on more popular nights(we came on a Wednesday). The music they played otherwise was nice and a little 90s(they used the radio). The waitress was friendly and very attentive(maybe too much so because we felt guilty by how often she came to check on us and what little feedback we had to give). We started off with beers: I got the house-made Imperial IPA and Boyfriend got a Stella. The beer was okay. I was pretty hungry and tired from tennis practice that we had just came from so I was pretty easy to please at that point. It was like, I saw what the Beer was trying to achieve/where it wanted to go, BUT it didn’t quite hit the spot. It tasted a little fiber-y for some reason(like grassy). Our food also arrived relatively quickly. I had the veggie burrito(no cheese) and Boyfriend got the fish ‘n chips. Lets first address how large his fish strips were. There was only two, but they were massive! His dish was pretty hefty for the price(usually fish ‘n chips are more expensive). The fish was tender and the coating was light and crunchy. My veggie burrito was wrapped in a spinach tortilla and cooked well. It had a great flavor I wasn’t disappointed. The jalapeños were not overwhelming, but just enough to make the combo of burrito + beer = just what I needed. We ordered another round of beers after dinner to watch the Warriors game. They have several TVs around the bar/dining area. What was weird is that, Boyfriend and I noticed that some of the TVs were laggy and played a few seconds behind others. It wasn’t a problem, but just odd. Had a good comfortable dinner. Probably wouldn’t come back or recommend to friends. This place is nothing special, but I did have a good time and I’m not complaining. Ambiance: 2.5÷5 Food: 3.5÷5 Service: 4⁄5 Overall Experience: 3.75÷5

The look of this Brewery is quaint, and has an amazing small town appeal. It even has outside seating, which is always a plus. The menu is quite substantial, and it would be difficult to find something you didn’t like. I went there with a couple friends, and we got drinks first. Along with a flight of beers, we also ordered a couple pints. Overall, the beer was terrible. It was relatively warm, and flat. Beyond that, and also lacked any sort of a malt or hops flavor. Although our pints IPA, they tasted like bitter pilsners. Because the IPA was so awful, I got a pale ale with hopes for something a little better. We couldn’t finish the flights because they were so awful, & I had to wash the terrible taste of the Pale Ale out of my mouth with a guest Sierra beer. But hell, there was always the food. So here we go. One friend got the chicken strips and fries, one friend got a vegetarian burrito, & I got the fish and chips. the fries were great, it’s pretty hard to mess up fried potatoes :-) But the fish was terrible! They were salty, super salty. Sometimes though, a decent vinegar saves hey terrible throw together a fish and chips. Generally you also have tartar sauce, so there are a different couple of ways to save bad fish and chips. But the tartar sauce was even worse. It was runny, super salty, and tasted more like vinegar than tartar. It also tasted like it would have been bad had it not been for the substantial amount of salt. The burrito my friend got was really tough, and didn’t really have anything going for it. It was flavorless vegetables, beans, rice, etc. Like the fish, the chicken strips were tough, salty, and largely flavorless. The only saving grace of the experience was our lovely waitress who was really funny and lots of fun to be around. She was very attentive, and didn’t really bring anything negative to the table whatsoever. We left her a fat tip, but good god was the whole experience terrible. This place has such potential and its a shame to see it pissed away with terrible food and beverages

This place shouldn’t pass their health inspection and clearly don’t follow cross contamination prevention methods. They cooked my fish right next to my boyfriends corned beef. There was fish mixed into his meal, and being very allergic, we can to run out of the restaurant for his meds. I noticed corned beef in my fish tacos as well. Definitely not allergy friendly or probably vegetarian friendly for that matter. I won’t go back, but the waiter was very nice.

A summary of this place: «meh». I really wanted a veggie burger, so I met some friends here a few Sundays ago. Ordered the black bean burger, and it came with about ½ a piece of lettuce, a small slice of tomato and some old looking purple onion(like it had been in the fridge uncovered for awhile). Serving of fries on the side was small to modest. To add insult to injury, my before burger cost more than my boyfriends meat burger! At least his had slightly more condiments on it, but not by much. Next time I want a beer/burger in Pleasanton I’ll try the place across the street!

This place is really amazing, especially on a night when The Houserockers( ) are playing. They are incredibly talented and tons of fun! There’s a lot of room for dancing, but it was pretty crowded. The clientele seemed to be mostly 50+ on the night I went. It was super awesome to see such cute older couples dressed to impress, dancing and having a great time. Even without the awesome live music, the food was decent(especially for the price) and the house-brewed Double mocha porter is the best porter I’ve ever had. It tasted like a milkshake and was super frothy. I was especially impressed with how attentive our server was considering how crowded and busy it was. I will definitely be back for another fun night and great live music!

I’ve stopped here a few times and each experience has been decent. Sometimes they have a band playing inside. Other times, we’ve just grabbed drinks. The last time I visited, I ordered food with a friend. You get a decent sized portion and it’s pretty reasonably priced. My turkey burger and salad was just the right amount. The vinegarette was a bit on the sour side but other than that, I enjoyed my meal here. I’ll ask for honey mustard or something else next time.
