I paid $ 200 for such a bad job. They made a mistake and I had to amend the tax return. They first asked me to pay $ 400. After I complained about it, they still asked $ 50. I ended up amending tax by myself. It took a lot of time and efforts, and it required me to go to IRS several times to ask them questions. I had 2 income sources for the last year, and they declared only one of them. I called them and said that the other income was missing. They said it was OK. According to them, I didn’t have to declare both. I made sure over the phone, and they told me to just send the documents to the state and the federal. Later, I found out that I did need to declare all the income. I asked them by e-mail and by phone. They ignored me until my lawyer contacted them. They admitted that I need to amend it and told me to pay $ 400. In their opinion, they didn’t understand what I said. They used the excuse using me being a non-native English speaker. However, I believe that my English is OK and people can understand it. Especially when I talked to them over the phone about the other income, I made it very clear and repeated because I thought it was something wrong. So, in my opinion, they just didn’t redo their paper work and let it go. According to a person in IRS, my CPA did a bad job and I agree with them. I also found the number they calculated was wrong. So, I actually did redo all of their work by myself, and I lost $ 200 for creating more trouble.
